  8. 'Stoke are in the doldrums'

    FT: Stoke 0-2 West Brom

    Tony Brown

Former West Brom inside forward on BBC WM 95.6

They had Stoke chasing all over the pitch trying to get a touch. They got the two goals, but the most important thing is they kept a clean sheet. Everybody has been crying out for a clean sheet.

They were better than a Stoke side who are really in the doldrums.

  9. FULL-TIME

    Stoke 0-2 West Brom

A lot of the home fans boo, as the final whistle is sounded. It's a bad night for the managerless Potters. It was a pretty awful game, in truth.

But the Baggies have shown their class at times and gone top of the table. They did a very professional job tonight.

    West Brom

  14. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 West Brom

Stoke subs Mark Duffy and James McClean combine nicely down their left-hand side but McClean's well-struck low cross goes past everyone in the middle.

Tom Ince - waiting in the middle - needed to gamble and make a dart for the six-yard box there. It was a cracking ball in.

Both sides make their final change.

Mark Duffy gets a late run-out for the hosts, as Badou Ndiaye goes off.

It's tight behind them, as just six points separate Preston, who will drop to second, and 12th-placed Birmingham.

At the other end, Stoke are poised to stay bottom, six points adrift of safety.

  17. Post update

    Stoke 0-2 West Brom

There's been no hint of a late Stoke comeback yet.

Meanwhile, Chris Brunt is getting ready to come on for the Albion.

  18. Post update

Hal Robson-Kanu chests the ball down nicely outside the area and bounces a half-volley at goal, but Jack Butland gets two hands to it.

Shaun Lilley: Only one person for Stoke job, Chris Hughton. Proven on getting teams out of the Championship, Stoke will be back in Premier League within three seasons with him in charge in my opinion.

    Stoke 0-2 West Brom

Tyrese Campbell is going off and on comes Tom Ince - signed for an initial £10m by the Potters in July 2018 - for the final 15 minutes or so.
