  1. Good night!

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday move into the Championship play-off places with a hard-fought point.

Cardiff City remain in 11th but are now just three points away from the top six, and they still boast an unbeaten home record.

Thanks for joining us this evening, good night.

  2. 'I thought we could have won it'

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

“I am disappointed we conceded the way we did. We had to make a change early doors because I think we would have got beaten easily if we hadn’t done that," said Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock.

“We had quite a lot of crosses going astray – some of the balls into the box were poor tonight – but we kept going and I thought we could have won it in the end.”

  3. Match report

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Lee Tomlin's late free-kick ensured Cardiff City remain unbeaten at home in the Championship this season.

  4. A case of deja vu?

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

If you're sitting there thinking this feels familiar, the last time these two sides met at the Cardiff City Stadium the Owls took a 1-0 lead into half-time only for the Bluebirds to score a later equaliser.

That time around it was Sol Bamba who cancelled out Gary Hooper's first-half effort.

  5. FULL-TIME

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

The spoils are shared at the Cardiff City Stadium thanks to Lee Tomlin's late free-kick.

The Owls led for most of the match after Julian Borner's first goal in English football gave Wednesday the lead.

Garry Monk will have questions about Aden Flint's positioning for Cardiff's equaliser, but the Bluebirds are rewarded for their second-half effort with a point.

  6. GREAT SAVE!

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Cameron Dawson may well have earned Wednesday a point with an incredible save.

The late call-up gets down quickly to his left to stop Gavin Whyte sealing victory for the Bluebirds.

Flint has a wonderful opportunity to win it moments later but the defender has strayed offside.

  7. Post update

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Only one team looks likely to find a winner if we are to have one here. Discipline has let the Owls down in the second half, granting Cardiff with far too many set pieces.

  8. YELLOW CARD

    Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Morgan Fox is booked and Cardiff have another free-kick in a dangerous position, they can't find a winner can they?

  9. Post update

Sheffield Wednesday are up in arms about Aden Flint's role in the equaliser.

The Cardiff defender is standing between the wall and the goalkeeper in an offside position as Tomlin strikes his free-kick, but nothing is given and the goal stands.

  10. GOAL Cardiff City 1-1 Sheffield Wednesday

    Lee Tomlin

    The substitute has done it!

Lee Tomlin wins a questionable free-kick 25-yards out just to the left of centre. The former Bristol City man dusts himself off to step up and put it into the bottom corner, the Bluebirds are level with five minutes remaining.

  11. Big miss!

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Josh Murphy wastes a brilliant chance to level for Cardiff.

Gavin Whyte makes his way to the byline and crosses to Murphy who is unmarked 10-yards out but completely miss-kicks his effort and Wednesday clear.

  12. SUBSTITUTION

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

    You look familiar!

Sheffield Wednesday bring on Jacob Murphy, twin brother of Cardiff City's Josh Murphy.

The two came head to head in the Premier League last season when Jacob played for his parent club Newcastle United.

  13. DOUBLE SUBSTITUTION

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Two changes from Neil Warnock. Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Robert Glatzel are off and on come Lee Tomlin and Gavin Whyte.

It's the final roll of the dice for Cardiff having already brought Danny Ward on in the first half.

  14. SUBSTITUTION

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Barry Bannan, who has looked bright this evening, makes way for Atdhe Nuhiu.

The Kosovan international has scored two goals in nine appearances in league and cup so far this season.

  15. PENALTY APPEAL

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

The home crowd are on their feet again appealing for handball but the ball has ricocheted off Adam Reach's hip and Keith Stroud waves play on.

  16. Save!

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Wednesday show they're still in this game with a quick counter-attack.

The ball is spread wide left to Barry Bannan who is bearing down on goal, but his effort from 20-yards is soft and Neil Etheridge saves comfortably.

At the other end Danny Ward has his first sight of goal and Cardiff's first shot on target but it's another comfortable save, this time for Dawson.

  17. 'Warnock sort it out'

    Cardiff 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

    Gareth Vincent

BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

The home fans are getting restless here as their team struggle to create any meaningful chances.

"Warnock sort it out" is the cry from some Cardiff supporters as the Bluebirds look to turn this game around.

They are now spending plenty of time in the visitors' half with a number of set-pieces asking questions.

But, for the moment, the Owls are standing strong.

  18. YELLOW CARD

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Liam Palmer, who is perhaps lucky to have not conceded a penalty already in this second half, gives away a needless free-kick on the edge of the 18-yard box.

Joe Ralls steps up but blasts his effort high and wide as Cardiff's search for an equaliser continues.

  19. Height advantage

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

The Bluebirds are finally beginning to use their height to their advantage and for the first time in the match Wednesday look pinned in their own half.

    Cardiff defenders
  20. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Cardiff City 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday

    They're getting closer.

Cardiff are growing into this game, if slowly. A deep free-kick finds the head of Robert Glatzel, the summer signing does well to turn the ball goal-bound but he can only watch as his effort bounces off the post and behind for a goal kick.
