  1. Goodbye

So, Aberdeen show a ruthlessness in front of goal that Livingston lack, to claim victory in West Lothian. The Dons move to within a point of second-placed Rangers in the Premiership.

Ross County come from behind to end Motherwell's recent winning run, with goals from Brian Graham and Ross Stewart.

And St Mirren are left frustrated by their inability to break down some fierce defending by 10-man Hamilton at sun-kissed Paisley.

Thanks for your company tonight, we're back tomorrow for another busy day of Premiership action, including the Edinburgh derby from Easter Road.

Hope you can join us then. Cheers.

  2. County boss praises 'excellent' points haul

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell has been waxing lyrical about his side's start to the season.

"Just to look at how the start has been for us, we're six games into the season, and for us to be sitting with 10 points is an excellent haul.

"We've already had the negativity of a couple of defeats and conceding uncharacteristic goals but we've been able to adjust to that.

"The players have again shown their sense of character and how strong they are mentally. We've been able to regroup after a couple of bad weeks for us and we've pieced together two wins on the bounce."

  3. 'It's certainly one that has gone our way today'

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

When asked about Declan Gallacher's chalked off goal in the first half, Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell opted for a rather coy answer.

"My initial reaction was that it was a two-handed push but I'll need to see it again," said Kettlewell. "Obviously, we're a fair distance away and I've not seen the replay.

"So I'll have a look at it again. Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they go against you. If it wasn't a foul then it's certainly one that has gone our way today."

  4. 'It's a massive three points for us' - County boss

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

Ross County snatched victory in the dying moments at Fir Park, with co-manager Stuart Kettlewell quick to underline how happy he was with securing maximum points.

"What we had to do at times was weather some good play from Motherwell," he tells BBC Scotland. "I think the goal was indicative of that. Their first goal is excellent - a great finish and great build-up play.

"Obviously, the changes we made to our team gave us a fresh impetus and we were delighted to come here and play a side that were so high in confidence. The performance levels have been great from them. So it's a massive three points for us."

  5. Goodwin 'frustrated' at lack of spark

    FT: St Mirren 0-0 Hamilton

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin had a tough afternoon watching his side toil to score against 10 men. "It's one of the most frustrating games I can remember for a long, long time," he tells Sportsound.

"We've completely dominated the game from start to finish but unfortunately we just couldn't find a way to break down Hamilton.

    Jim Goodwin

"I give Hamilton great credit for the way they defended but we have to be a bit more creative and have a bit more imagination in the final third and try to work their goalkeeper.

"Today's a game we should have won."

  7. 'Livingston lack belief' - Holt

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Aberdeen

Livingston manager Gary Holt says the defeat by Aberdeen is a hard one to take.

"I've played a lot worse and won," he tells BBC Scotland. "I've got to watch what I say - we have constructive criticism, we have areas we can point out to the lads to make them better. But I thought we were excellent.

"All over the park we were hungry, we showed for it, we created chances. In the areas where you can defend your box better that's what cost us.

Image caption: Livingston paid dearly for lacking a ruthless streak in front of goal

"My 'keeper has had nothing to do. He's picked the ball out of the net twice.

"It's a bitter one today because I thought the lads were excellent. Maybe it's a lack of belief in front of goal."

  8. 'I don't know the rules' - Rice on Oakley red

    FT: St Mirren 0-0 Hamilton

Hamilton head coach Brian Rice admits George Oakley deserved his red card, but feels other sides are getting away with similar challenges in the draw with St Mirren.

"All I'm going to say is, I've been to high profile games and other games over the last month and I've seen tackles that I think are straight red cards going unpunished. I've had three men sent off this year for very little. So I'm at a loss as to what the rules are.

    Brian Rice
Image caption: Brian Rice was critical of George Oakley's actions as Accies were reduced to 10 men

"George [Oakley] is stupid, it's a stupid challenge. There's no need for him to go into it, it's a red card. But my players are getting punished and I don't see other teams getting punished."

Aside from the red card, Rice was please with his side's resilience: "I think to come here and play almost 45 minutes with 10 men and come away with a point and a clean sheet is a good result for us."

  9. Ross the boss for County

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

  10. 'It was a reality check for us'

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

Before Ross County scored their winner at Fir Park, Motherwell defender Jake Carroll damaged his side's hopes of victory with two yellow cards in two minutes.

Although his manager Stephen Robinson wasn't sure about the eventual red card, he accepts that it showed a degree of naivety.

    Motherwell

"Whether that's a yellow card or not is extremely debatable," Robinson. "It's a bit naive when you're on a booking. You're at the mercy of the referee's decision. So it changes the game. Of course. We go down to 10 men. So we'll learn from it. It was probably a bit of a reality check for us."

  12. 'We only have ourselves to blame' - Robinson

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson expressed frustration after losing two late goals against Ross County, and with them, spurning the chance to move up to second in the Premiership.

Speaking to BBC Scotland, Robinson said: "I thought we were in total control of the game. We dominated the game and why has Declan Gallacher's goal not stood? I don't know; you'll have to ask the referee that question.

"There's no foul whatsoever. But we had other chances to put the game to bed, so we've only got ourselves to blame. We had numerous chances to put the game to bed and Ross County had two good chances in the second half and they took them."

  13. 'We fought fire with fire' - McInnes

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Aberdeen

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes: "It wasn't pretty but there will be times this season where we deserve a lot more, play well and don't get anything from the game.

"You just need to do what's required and we did that.

    Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes
Image caption: Derek McInnes was delighted with Aberdeen's victory at a difficult venue

"We fought fire with fire; there's a reason that Livingston don't lose many games here. They're a good side and ask questions of you.

"We tried to play for territory at times and play percentages and get up the pitch We came up with two big moments to win the game and we get our clean sheet.

""There's an opportunity to get the club into a semi-final on Wednesday. We can expect more in certain games, but what I couldn't get any more of today was the willingness of the players to get the three points."

  14. Livi pay dearly for profligacy

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller

Former Scotland defender on BBC Radio Scotland

Quote Message: Aberdeen were resilient, they defended luckily at times in my book. Livingston were able to put too many crosses into the box. Livi had four great chances and it's their fault they haven't taken these chances.

  15. Play it again, Sam

    FT: Livingston 0-2 Aberdeen

Pre-match, Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes had spoken about "managing Sam Cosgrove's minutes" on account of a groin injury.

The striker came off the bench to fire home a penalty and seal victory against a spirited Livingston in a sun-kissed West Lothian.

  16. Life of Brian...

    FT: Motherwell 1-2 Ross County

Ross County came from behind to stun Motherwell - who had designs on moving up to second in the Premiership - with a late double at Fir Park.
