  1. Post update

That's the end of this live page now. Thanks for joining me today.

Check out our Senegal v Benin match report here.

Nigeria play South Africa in the second semi-final at 20:00 BST. You can find live text commentary of that game on the BBC Sport website about 15 minutes before kick-off.

  2. Post update

Benin have still never won a game at any Africa Cup of Nations. They failed in nine group games before 2019, and reached this year's quarter-finals with three group-stage draws and a penalty shootout win.

  3. Post update

That was a slightly strange game. Benin had more proper chances until late on but Senegal could have won about 4-0 in the end.

  5. Post update

Senegal, who have never won the Africa Cup of Nations, face Tunisia or Madagascar in Cairo on Sunday.

  6. FULL-TIME

    Senegal 1-0 Benin

It's all over. Senegal are the first side to reach the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

  7. Post update

Less than a minute left as Senegal let a long ball go through to their keeper.

  8. Post update

Sadio Mane concedes a free-kick for fouling Benin's keeper. He's one booking away from missing the semi!

  9. Post update

I'm not sure Benin are going to have another chance. They seem to have run out of ideas.

  10. YELLOW CARD

Benin striker Steve Mounie goes into the book. He's already served a ban in this tournament.

  11. Post update

Almost a panic as Senegal keeper Alfred Gomis drops a long ball but he gets away with it.

  12. YELLOW CARD

Senegal's Sadio Mane goes into the book as he lies on the floor. Eating up time? Injured? Trying to avoid the booking? Who knows?

  13. INJURY TIME

FIVE minutes added on. Renewed hope for 10-man Benin?

  14. Post update

As we enter the final minute, Benin give away a needless free-kick.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

Senegal bring on defender Salif Sane for goalscorer Idrissa Gueye, who was brilliant in the second half here. He's been the difference.

  16. Post update

Senegal keeper Alfred Gomis is able to catch the corner. Eat up some valuable seconds.

  17. Post update

    No.

  18. Post update

Benin have a corner. Time for the keeper to come up yet?

  19. Post update

Benin's legs have gone as Sadio Mane flies away but his pass is cut out. Can the Squirrels create another chance? They have five minutes left.

  20. Post update

Mbaye Diagne takes the free-kick but it's not great and Saturnin Allagbe saves. Olivier Verdon probably made the right call to be fair. I think Idrissa Gueye was going to score.
