Live Reporting

By Matt Bullin

All times stated are UK

  1. Bye for now

    Want more Afcon action?

Well, we'll bring you live text commentary of Group A's final two matches from 20:00 BST as hosts Egypt take on Uganda and Zimbabwe face DR Congo.

And if that's not your bag, we'll also be live texting the European Under-21s Championships final as Spain take on Germany in Friuli, Italy in one hour's time.

    See you soon!

  2. Post update

    FT: Burundi 0-2 Guinea

Guinea finish their group campaign with four points and therefore stand a good chance of progressing into the knockouts as one of the four best third-placed teams.

  3. FULL-TIME - Burundi 0-2 Guinea

A comfortable win for Guinea in the end, helped by Christophe Nduwarugira's 12th-minute dismissal.

The National Elephants claim their first win of the tournament to secure a third-place finish in Group B.

  4. Post update

    FT: Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Nigeria also qualify as runners-up, of course, but this result will come as a huge shock to them.

  5. FULL-TIME - Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Madagascar fully deserve their win over three-time champions Nigeria and they qualify for the last 16 as group winners.

    Jubilant scenes.

  6. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Wilfred Ndidi makes an enterprising run and lays it off to Alex Iwobi on the edge of the box but the Arsenal man can only fire high and wide.

That just about sums it up for Nigeria.

  7. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Nigeria are ranked 45th in the world.

Madagascar are ranked 108th - that's below the Faroe Islands, Haiti and Vietnam - to name a few.

This will surely be the upset of the tournament.

  8. Post update

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

What's he doing?! Burundi keeper Jonathan Nahimana comes flying out of his goal to contest a ball with Ibrahima Traore on the left wing and he just about wins the ball before scuffing it down field.

The keeper must have been getting bored.

  9. Post update

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

The National Elephants have controlled this game since they scored their second goal early in the second half.

Saido Berahino, perhaps unsurprisingly, has made very little impact for Burundi.

  10. Post update

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

Guinea's goalscorer Mohamed Yattara has just been carried off on a stretcher, too, but as soon as he was off the pitch he got up and wandered over to a drinks cooler.

Odd. Jose Kante is on to replace him anyway.

  11. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Ten minutes left for Nigeria to produce something.

They've been really, really poor today.

  12. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

The commentator just mentioned Alex Iwobi.

I'd forgotten the Arsenal winger was even on the pitch.

  13. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Nobody wants to see this. Madagascar defender Pascal Razakanantenaina, who was having a good game, is carried off on a stretcher after a fairly innocuous coming together with Odion Ighalo.

Gervais Randrianarisoa comes on in his place.

  14. Post update

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

And just as I type that, up comes his number. Stoke City forward Saido Berahino is on for Fiston Abdul Razak.

About 20 minutes remain for the ex-West Brom man to make an impact.

  15. Post update

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

Fiston Abdul Razak does well to shrug off his marker but his shot from the edge of the box whizzes wide.

He's done OK but maybe it's time for Burundi to introduce their not-so-secret weapon: Saido Berahino.

  16. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Odion Ighalo wins his side a central free-kick just outside the area.

And it's Peter Etebo who tries one, but his curling effort goes wide. 25 minutes of normal time remain.

    Burundi 0-2 Guinea

Napoli's Amadou Diawara pulls the trigger from 30 yards and Burundi keeper Jonathan Nahimana is forced tip it over the bar.

That was travelling at some speed.

  18. Post update

    Madagascar 2-0 Nigeria

Wilfred Ndidi miscues a shot on the volley after Samuel Kalu's cross is cleared.

Ndidi has failed to make any sort of positive impact since his introduction.
