    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

    Chris Waddle

Ex-England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

You expect that every game from Ronaldo. Switzerland were playing well but he is a top-class goalscorer and all three of them were good goals.

Years ago he was a dribbler with bags of pace but now he is a goalscorer and he has kept himself so fit.

There is no reason why he cannot play at 40. His game has developed and his coaches do not ask him to chase back against full-backs because it means he is fresh when he gets it.

  2. 'Ronaldo could play until 40'

    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

The second goal was such a wonderfully worked move but Cristiano Ronaldo knew exactly what he wanted to do. It's a goal of beauty the way he finishes it off. He still moves like an Olympic athlete. He is 34 and he has no right to look like that.

He is a real leader for this Portuguese team and it tells you everything about the way he leads his life. It's a possibility that he could carry on playing until he is 40.

  7. 'Feet of a ballerina'

    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

William Carvalho is a real powerhouse but he has got the feet of a ballerina. Portugal are a well balanced team.

  8. Post update

This might sound crazy but Xherdan Shaqiri for Man of the Match?

Everything good about Switzerland came through him.

I suspect Ronaldo will get it for his goals. Fair enough.

Got to feel for the Swiss.

They were very much in this until Ronaldo struck twice in the final two minutes.

They're not heading home just yet, however. Switzerland will take part in a third-place play-off in Guimaraes on Sunday (14:00 BST) against the losers of the Netherlands against England game which is tomorrow.

  14. 'Ridiculous Ronaldo'

    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

    Chris Sutton

Ex-Chelsea striker on BBC Radio 5 live

Ridiculous Ronaldo. How many times have we seen him decide the big games over the years?

Credit to Switzerland, who got themselves back into the game, but then Ronaldo gives the goalkeeper no chance. Game over and he is walking off with the match ball.

  15. Post update

    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

Portugal fans are applauding Switzerland's players off the pitch. The Swiss contributed to a compelling contest. The difference between the sides? A bloke wearing Portugal's No 7 shirt.

    Portugal 3-1 Switzerland

    Chris Sutton

As soon as Ronaldo shifts it inside you know what is going to happen. Yann Sommer made himself big but he got nowhere near it. Devastating finish.

    HAT-TRICK!!!!

This is the Cristiano Ronaldo Show in Porto.

Switzerland capitulate at the back and Ronaldo bends a third beyond Yann Sommer.

The GOAT? He's making a good case here.
