  1. Lyon still reign supreme

    FT: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

With that, as 'We are the Champions' rings around the ground in Budapest and Lyon begin their lap of honour with the trophy, I bid you farewell.

Have a good evening and we look forward to seeing you again at the Women's World Cup, which begins on 7 June.

  2. Post update

    FT: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

And there it is, Lyon lift the Women's Champions League title aloft yet again.

England's Lucy Bronze and Wales' Jess Fishlock have gold medals around their necks, as does injured England midfielder Izzy Christiansen, who has joined the squad among the confetti.

  3. Post update

    FT: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

Barcelona's travelling fans rise to salute their team, as they collect their medals.

It's a silver medal for England's Toni Duggan.

They beat Bayern Munich in the semi-finals, and I suspect they be back in a final soon.

  4. Post update

    FT: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

The jubilant Lyon players engage in a 'Viking Thunderclap' in front of their fans.

Then out comes some champagne. Lucy Bronze gets a bit of a soaking as the bubbles flow.

  5. Lyon retain European crown

    FT: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

The Lyon players' smiles are almost as wide as the gulf between them and the rest of Europe.

They celebrate on the field, while Barcelona have their hands on their hips in disappointment.

    Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

Lyon retain their European title for a fourth straight year!

  7. Post update

    Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

There'll be two minutes of added time in Budapest.

  8. GOAL: Lyon 4-1 Barcelona

    Asisat Oshoala

Barcelona have a consolation goal, and it's beautifully worked.

The Netherlands' Lieke Martens plays in a cracking through ball for Nigeria's Asisat Oshoala and the former Liverpool and Arsenal star picks her spot.

  9. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

This will be Lyon's sixth European title since 2011, in their eighth Women's Champions League final since 2010.

Quite a period of domination for the French side across this decade.

  10. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

The world of football has seen some remarkable comebacks lately but not even the most optimistic Barcelona fan can possibly think they'll be forcing extra time here.

    Lyon are cruising.

  11. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

France's Eugenie Le Sommer gets in behind the Barcelona defence and opens up her body to angle a shot in to the corner but she curls it straight in to the keeper's arms.

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

Wales legend Jess Fishlock - who has played some neat stuff in holding midfield, allowing Lyon to go forward in numbers - is being replaced.

Japan icon Saki Kumagai comes on for Lyon to replace the 32-year-old from Cardiff.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONS (Barcelona)

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

    Toni Duggan (left)

England forward Toni Duggan - who has worked really hard for the Catalan club in her first European final - is going off, along with Aitana Bonmati.

On come Andressa Alves and former Arsenal winger Asisat Oshoala.

  14. CLOSE!

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

Barcelona should really have scored here, as the ball falls kindly for Lieke Martens at the far post, but her effort is off target.

They've had chances to get two or three goals, on a different day perhaps.

  15. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

Lyon substitute Delphine Cascarino finds herself space to shoot from the right, but her low strike is held by the keeper.

The Netherlands winger Shanice Van de Sanden - who has provided two assists for the second Women's Champions League final in a row - goes off to warm appause.

On comes France's Delphine Cascarino on the wing for Lyon instead.

Ibraheem sadeq Ahmad: Hegerberg on the way to win another Ballon d'Or??

  18. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

    Lyon celebrate

To remind you, this Lyon side were given a real scare by Chelsea in the semi-finals, but the French side edged through 3-2 on aggregate.

You'd imagine the current scoreline should see the respect for Chelsea's performance in that tie grow.

  19. Post update

    Lyon 4-0 Barcelona

Lyon are playing some wonderful football now, with Eugenie Le Sommer combining well with Dzsenifer Marozsan, who flicks the ball back in the to French forward's path, but Le Sommer curls just over.

Sulaimon Adelekan: This is an Ada Hegerberg show sadly she wouldn't be at the World cup with Norway. France, Germany, Spain and Brazil are the favourites for the world cup.

As Sulaimon alludes to, Ballon d'Or winner Ada Hegerberg has not been included in Norway's squad for the Women's World Cup.

The 23-year-old striker's absence for the tournament in France this summer was expected because she has refused to play for the national side since 2017, taking a stand against what she describes as a lack of respect for female players in Norway.
