  1. Match report

    Real Valladolid 1-4 Real Madrid

Real Madrid came from behind to beat Real Valladolid in a La Liga win unlikely to relieve too much pressure on head coach Santiago Solari.

Valladolid were unfortunate not to be well clear as Ruben Alcaraz missed a penalty, before Sergi Guardiola had two goals before Anuar's opening goal.

Raphael Varane equalised from close range and Karim Benzema then scored twice, from a penalty and a header.

Casemiro was sent off for two yellows before Luka Modric added a fourth.

Third-placed Real, who have only won two of their past six games, are 12 points behind leaders and champions Barcelona.

Solari's side were knocked out out of the Champions League, the tournament they had won for three consecutive years, after losing 4-1 at home to Ajax on Tuesday - their fourth consecutive home defeat.

  2. Goodnight

I'm going to leave you for the night now but here's a recap of what happened.

  3. Post update

A 4-1 scoreline makes it look convincing but Valladolid could have been 4-0 up.

It's all over. It's a second win in six games for Real Madrid.

  5. Post update

Luka Modric sends Marco Asensio down the right. Madrid defender Nacho runs forward in open play looking for a goal Sergio Ramos (or Gerard Pique) style but he doesn't get the ball.

Real Madrid push for a fifth but Alvaro Odriozola's cross is just beyond Karim Benzema.

    Three minutes added on.

Madrid bring on defenders Marcelo and Jesus Vallejo for Sergio Reguilon and Raphael Varane.

Valadolid brought on Enes Unal for Oscar Plano a couple of minutes ago.

  8. Post update

Real Madrid have received a red card in four of their last six matches - as many as in their previous 86.

  9. GOAL - Real Valladolid 1-4 Real Madrid

    Luka Modric

There's no doubt about the result now. Karim Benzema finds Luka Modric, who breaks into the box, does a little stepover and then guides the ball past the keeper from close range.

  10. Post update

Madrid pass the ball round in midfield for a bit. Karim Benzema has the ball on the left, I'm sure he'd love a hat-trick.

  11. Post update

Great play by Valladolid left-back Nacho who flies down the wing and cuts into the box but his cross is cleared.

  12. Post update

Can Valladolid take advantage of having an extra man? I doubt it. Madrid have a corner.

  13. RED CARD

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro is sent off for a second booking. He concedes a free-kick by fouling Oscar Plano and then stands in his way as Plano tries to take the free-kick. That's what he gets his yellow for.

And just as I say that Valladolid hit the post. Sergi Guardiola volleys a corner towards goal expertly. It's a little nudged volley. It beats Thibaut Courtois but hits the woodwork.

Guardiola has never scored a La Liga goal.

  15. Post update

A Valladolid goal would make things interesting. But I'm not sure it's going to come. They don't seem to have many ideas any more when they come forward.

Off pops Toni Kroos for Madrid as 20-year-old Uruguay international Federico Valverde comes on.

Valladolid bring on Croatia forward Duje Cop for Keko.

  18. Post update

Madrid midfielder Casemiro steps inside a defender and then unleashes a 30-yard shot which is blocked by a Valladolid man.

  19. Post update

Valladolid fans shout for a penalty but the offside flag had gone up for Sergi Guardiola. He probably was fouled, but he was offside so it's a free out.

Madrid midfielder Casemiro is booked now for stepping across Oscar Plano and barging him to the ground.
