  1. That's your lot

FT: Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Sheffield United players

Well, I said it wouldn't end goalless and I was, not for the first time, incorrect.

A game of few chances ended level at Hillsborough as the Owls remained unbeaten under Steve Bruce.

We'll be back with more EFL action tomorrow night when floundering Derby will look to get their Championship play-off push back on track against Wigan.

Thanks for your company and enjoy the rest of your evening.

  2. As you were at the top

FT: Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Here's how the top of the Championship looks following tonight's stalemate at Hillsborough...

    Championship table

The Blades have two home games to come against Rotherham and Brentford, before they visit second-placed Leeds on 16 March.

What a game that promises to be!

Wednesday are 13th, six points off the play-offs.

  3. Owls had 'best chance', says Hector

FT: Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Sheffield Wednesday defender Michael Hector told Sky Sports: "We had the best chance of the game through Sam Hutchinson.

(On whether the visitors should have had a penalty when Gary Madine went down under pressure from him in the first half): "It was coming together, I don't think it was a penalty.

"We're a lot more solid since Steve Bruce came in and we're defending much better than before."

  4. FULL-TIME

    And indeed it is.

It won't go down as a classic and it ends with a result neither team will have wanted.

The Blades went closest in the first half through striker Gary Madine and the hosts had the best chance of the second half when Sam Hutchinson fired straight at Dean Henderson when well placed.

Sheffield United remain third in the table.

  5. Post update

Rolando Aarons fires over after the visitors half-clear a free-kick.

Looks like that will be that...

Two minutes of time added on.

  7. SUBSTITUTION

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Sheffield Wednesday make their final change, Atdhe Nuhiu takes the place of Steven Fletcher up top.

One minute plus stoppages to go.

  8. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

This result would really suit the top two in the Championship as well as the big pack of teams chasing sixth place.

Blades boss Chris Wilder said he was not scared to lose this game but will he throw caution to the wind in the final few minutes?

  9. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

The Blades on top as we head into the final five minutes.

Could there yet be a late sting in the tail?

  10. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

The hosts are living on their nerves a little here as Blades win a couple of corners and then a free-kick in an attacking area.

John Egan throws himself at another delivery into the box but again Michael Hector is on hand to clear away for the Owls. He's been excellent tonight.

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Second Owls change of the evening sees Morgan Fox come on for Dominic Iorfa.

  12. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

The visitors force a couple of corners after some neat play.

Michael Hector, who has been very solid all evening, clears the second away to safety.

  13. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

All gone a bit quiet again since that Sam Hutchinson chance for the hosts.

The whole game has been fiercely contested but we're yet to see any real moments of individual quality.

  14. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Heading into the final 20 minutes at Hillsborough.

As in the first half, there's been one big chance of note, Sam Hutchinson shooting straight at Blades goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Can someone make themselves a derby hero tonight?

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

    Gary Madine

Sheffield United sub off former Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Madine and bring on former Sheffield Wednesday striker David McGoldrick.

  16. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Liam Palmer, urged to shoot by the home faithful does just that, and... Yeah, probably should have passed it to be honest.

  17. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

    The hosts should lead!

Rolando Aarons plays a low ball into the box and Sam Hutchinson is only eight yards out but, on the stretch, fires straight at Blades keeper Dean Henderson.

    Massive chance.

  18. SUBSTITUTION

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Could this be a change of shape for the visitors?

Kieran Dowell is off for the visitors and it's defender Martin Cranie who comes on in his place.

  19. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Another free-kick to Sheffield Wednesday and this time Barry Bannan tries a clever ball down the side.

Except it's underhit and easily cleared away. Owls boss Steve Bruce will have HATED that.

  20. Post update

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Sheff Utd

Nearly a huge mistake by Wednesday defender Tom Lees.

He heads a deep ball back to goalkeeper Keiren Westwood but Blades striker Billy Sharp reads it and nearly nips in before the Irish goalkeeper.
