  3. The story of the tie...

    FT: Chile 0-2 Sweden

Sweden were much the better side but they struggled in front of goal for 70 minutes. The thunder and lightning halted play for over 40 minutes and the Swedes came out revitalised after the delay.

Chile were tenacious in defence but offered very little going forward, and in the end, Sweden were good value for their three points.

  4. FULL-TIME

    Chile 0-2 Sweden

It's all over and Sweden begin with three points in Group F.

  5. GOAL - Chile 0-2 Sweden

    Madelen Janogy

    Game over!

The points are in the bag and Madelen Janogy seals victory with a terrific solo effort.

The substitute beats a couple of tired Chile players with an injection of pace, before jinking inside on her left foot and picking out the top corner.

It begs the question why wasn't she starting?!

We are already two minutes into five of stoppage time.

Time ticking down for Chile as Sweden look to see the game out.

  7. Post update

    Chile 0-1 Sweden

Chile have responded well to going behind and Francisca Lara shows some nice footwork in the Swedish area before spinning around and shooting at goal.

The ball just misses the top right hand corner.

    Chance.

  8. Post update

    Chile 0-1 Sweden

Incidentally, Kosovare Asllani's goal came from Sweden's 20th shot of this match.

Talk about banging on the door!

  9. Post update

    Chile 0-1 Sweden

Sweden nearly double their lead as Sofia Jakobsson springs the offside trap before trying to lob Christiane Endler, but her effort sails over the bar.

The European side have got their tails up now and they look threatening on the attack.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

    Chile 0-1 Sweden

Sweden made their third and final change before the opener as Elin Rubensson was replaced by Madelen Janogy.

  11. GOAL - Chile 0-1 Sweden

    Kosovare Asllani

Sweden have lift off and Kosovare Asllani finds the opener.

The bill ricochets around in the Chile area as the South American side fail to clear the danger in the soggy conditions.

The Swedish number nine Asllani fires the loose ball into the roof of the net and Chiristiane Endler is finally beaten from close range.

Can she make the difference in the final 10 minutes?

  13. Post update

    Chile 0-0 Sweden

It's straight off the training field and Sweden play a short pass before feeding through to Kosovare Asllani, but the ball glides into the hands of Christiane Endler off the greasy surface.

  15. Post update

    Chile 0-0 Sweden

The delay hasn't effected Christiane Endler and she pulls off another good save.

Sweden play a few passes before Sofia Jakobsson turns and tries to lift the ball over the PSG keeper, but she is equal to it and tips the ball over the bar.

Sean: Erring on the side of safety is a good thing. I've seen loads of *youth* games stopped for thunder.

Jeremy: Weather delays for lightning are relatively common in the United States.
