  1. Good night

    FT: Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Didn't we have fun? Unless you're a Birmingham fan faced with a long trek home after that one. If so, I apologise.

It was a good game though, a fine advertisement for the Championship.

Are Norwich the real deal? Certainly looking that way this season. It's a better side even than the one which went up in 2015.

Birmingham still sit among the play-off contenders. There won't be that many games as tough as a trip to Carrow Road this season. Garry Monk's side need to just move on.

So that's it for tonight. The best thing is, you don't even need to wait very long to do it all again. Tomorrow. 14:00 GMT. Be there.

  3. Reaction

    FT: Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki told Sky Sports:

"It's important, we haven't won for a while, it was important to get the three points and we deserved to win.

"We have some promising guys in the team, so many good assists, I'm happy with the young guys ans how they're performing.

"We know where we are, we know how much work we have to do."

Norwich midfielder Tom Trybull told Sky Sports:

"We showed a good performance in the first half, slowed down in the second but had a lot of confidence.

"We have to keep going because there will be hard games ahead."

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Back into the top two. Sehr gut fur Farke.

The reward for a 25-minute goalfest is a 3-1 win against Birmingham for Norwich City.

Teemu Pukki's goal gave them the lead, and even after a rasper from Che Adams, Mario Vrancic's long-ranger and a header from Tom Trybull was enough to sew it up.

Composed second-half saw out the job. Superb.

  5. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

So close by Craig Gardner! He whizzed an inswinger in but it's wide of the post. Blues close!

  6. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Michael Morrison's towering leap at the back post looks as though it might produce a penalty box scramble but it's hooked away.

Wonderful crossfield pass by Craig Gardner finds Connor Mahoney, but his rapped shot goes for a corner.

Third go - corner glanced out... a fourth corner...

  7. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Issac Vassell's enthusiasm gets the better of him as he hauls down a Norwich defender. Ben Godfrey I think it was.

Norwich whittle away some time by bringing Kenny McLean on for Onel Hernandez.

Last minute... three minutes of added time.

  8. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Wickedly-bouncing free-kick from the right threatens to cause goalkeeper Lee Camp some issues but the Blues man gathers.

Norwich still cruising through the latter stages here. No lack of endeavour from Birmingham, just not able to truly open the Canaries up.

  9. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Connor Mahoney has been a bright spot for Birmingham since coming on. That said, I thought Jota was Blues' biggest threat during his time.

Craig Gardner has a shot, winning a 50/50 in midfield, driving on but his shot was well saved by Tim Krul. Those two have faced each other in a Tyne-Wear derby.

Teemu Pukki is off for Norwich, Jordan Rhodes is on. His first incident was to tumble down on the edge of the box but the referee waves it away.

  10. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Cor, Max Aarons has some turbo. There was a 50/50 ball on the edge of the Norwich box as Birmingham had another dig, and the Canaries full-back got their first and set off on a searing run.

It was like seeing Martin Offiah in full-flight for Wigan in the early 1990s. He sizzled past his man, rode a tackle and even galloped beyond a swiping kick by Craig Gardner.

The move came to nothing, but did earn Gardner a booking for his cynical yet amusing act.

    Time running out.

  11. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Driving run down the right by Connor Mahoney sees him send a ball across into the box but Norwich keeper Tim Krul takes it unopposed.

Birmingham trying to crank up the pace, but Norwich look cool in possession and there is a small group of fans that are 'Ole'-ing every touch.

  12. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Blues give the ball away cheaply midway in their own half but a clipped ball to the back post sees Todd Cantwell called offside.

Issac Vassell, who by the way spent a lot of time out with a knee injury, had a wild jump toward a Norwich player to tackle, but thankfully missed him.

Tim Robinson has a word in the shell, so to speak.

  13. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Another slaloming run, this time by Todd Cantwell, raises the Norwich support to their feet but he takes a touch too many and Blues clear.

He just needed to shoot. Have a go. Test the goalkeeper.

Do they want the fourth enough?

  14. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Tell you what, there was a terrible version of Human League's 'Don't You Want Me?' from the Norwich fans a moment ago. Barely resembled the original. Then Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' gets the terrace karaoke treatment.

The worst one going around at the moment is the terrace version of Billy Ray Cyrus' 'Achy Breaky Heart'. I don't think half the people singing it actually know the song.

Che Adams sends a tame shot toward Tim Krul. Jota's off, Connor Mahoney is on for the visitors.

  15. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Gary Gardner rushes in to pinch the ball off Marco Stiepermann's toe, after he crept in behind into acres of space on the edge of the Blues box.

    Super block.

Then at the other end, Christoph Zimmerman got his foot to a ball ahead of Birmingham strlker Che Adams after a searching Jota cross. Took a few studs in the foot for his trouble. Painful.

  16. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Harlee Dean steps across a raking through-ball to cut out Norwich striker Teemu Pukki, but the Finn continues his pursuit of the ball and forces a panicky clearance.

Birmingham need a goal. Norwich still seeking a fourth.

  17. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

    Not far away...

They might feel they should have scored really...

It all seemed to open up for Onel Hernandez on the edge of the box but he slips it left to Todd Cantwell, whose shot curling toward the far corner is acrobatically saved by Lee Camp.

One for the scrapbook they say.

  18. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

I take it from the number of dislikes for that Bros post, that you're not fans of the Goss twins.

Jota has dragged a shot at Tim Krul in the Norwich goal.

    Now it's Norwich's turn...

  19. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Birmingham trying their best to cause Norwich problems, but the defence remains well-drilled.

However, their tempo has dropped and that has given the Blues some opportunities to threaten.

Issac Vassell, who's continuing his full return to action after a long knee injury lay-off, will get some game time as he's sent on for Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Cometh the hour and all that...

  20. Post update

    Norwich City 3-1 Birmingham

Craig Gardner will partner brother Gary in the Birmingham midfield, as Maikel Kieftenbeld makes way.

Che Adams got in down the right but his cross is cleared, and after Blues recycle it, it's an easy claim for Tim Krul.
