Video caption: West Brom's Robson-Kanu hits long-range volley against crossbar

West Brom boss Darren Moore to BBC Sport: "It is a disappointing result but I have to be pleased with the performance. The younger ones who came in showed that they have gown in stature tonight.

"The turning point in the game was losing Hal Robson-Kanu to injury, we will check on him over the next 24 hours.

"It looked like we were going to win it, we scored so late in the game but it only takes a second to score a goal. Extra time was a bridge too far for us with 10 men.

"Chris Hughton was able to bring on some top players, they are a good team and they made the extra man count."

  4. 'Murray had a spring in his step'

Brighton manager Chris Hughton on BBC Sport: "Delighted, it's a cup tie, and we made hard work of it. We got into good positions but found ourselves 1-0 down and it felt like it was going to be one of those days.

"You need a goal to get back in it and then the tie turned a bit and we showed our quality. I knew we would push right to the end but we had had ample opportunities before that.

"Glenn Murray came on and wanted to make an impact in the game and that's what happens. He certainly came on with a spring in his step. What we need to do as a team is spread the goals around a bit more but if you said would I rather have someone in form scoring goals then of course I would.

"We'll have to show more against Derby."

    West Brom 1-3 Brighton

Brighton's double goalscorer Glenn Murray to BBC Sport: "It's nice to put the tie to bed. I think both sides could have done without extra time.

"Derby will be a tough game - you look at the draw and there's a lot of big teams out of it so it's a good year to be in."

That was the chance. Brighton fail to clear and Tosin Adarabioyo tries a shot.

  17. HALF-TIME IN EXTRA-TIME

  18. GOAL - West Brom 1-2 Brighton

    Glenn Murray (Brighton)

He's only just come on and may be taking Brighton into round five. Jurgen Locadia twists and turns and squares it from the left, it hits Glenn Murray in the belly and he doesn't know much about it, but it is in the net and Brighton lead.
