  4. Job done for Rangers

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

When that early goal went in at Ibrox, the home fans might have been expecting a few more.

However, Accies Gary Woods turned in a fine display and it was one of those days for striker Kyle Lafferty, getting a rare chance to impress in the absence of suspended top-scorer Alfredo Morelos.

  5. Post update

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

Accies have now lost 13 of their 18 league matches and stay 10th in the table, five points behind local rivals Motherwell.

With both teams below them losing this weekend, nothing changes in terms of the dreaded drop...

  6. FULL-TIME Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

That's it. Rangers go top of the Premiership thanks to that early goal from Daniel Candeias.

Steven Gerrard's men lead Kilmarnock on goal difference, with Celtic one point further back.

There are just four points covering the top five.

Daniel Candeias scored the only goal at Ibrox
  7. Three minutes of stoppage time

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

The home side are almost there...

    Dougie Imrie and Andy Halliday
  8. Post update

The visitors make their final change, with Alex Penny taking over from defensive veteran Matt Kilgallon.

Just a couple of minutes to go now.

  9. Post update

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

A couple of free kicks to Hamilton. The ball is lumped into the mixer each time but Rangers stand firm.

  10. Post update

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

Accies are going for it now, chucking on striker Steven Boyd in place of combative midfielder Tom Taiwo.

  11. Post update

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

What's all this? A corner to Accies... and another one! They come to nothing as Rangers make a second change, bringing on Andy Halliday for goalscorer Daniel Candeias.

  12. Post update

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

Scott Arfield is the next Rangers players to have a go at doubling the home lead, curling a shot wide.

It's now 21-0 to the hosts on corners, by the way...

  13. Post update

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

Accies have rarely been seen as an attacking force today. Could that change as Fredrik Brustad comes on to replace lone striker Rakish Bingham.

The 29-year-old Norwegian has scored just once since arriving on loan from Molde.

  14. GREAT SAVE!

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

Gary Woods is at it again, this time keeping out a Kyle Lafferty header with an impressive save. He's keeping his side in this game...

The Accies threaten for the first time as defender Scott McMann sets off on a run down the left flank and home goalkeeper Allan McGregor is called into action.

  18. CLOSE!

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

The home side are on the front foot straight away as Kyle Lafferty goes close with a shot that hits the side-netting. Borna Barisic the provider from out on the left.

  19. KICK-OFF

    Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

The action is under way again at Ibrox.

  20. Rangers good as front-runners

    HT: Rangers 1-0 Hamilton

I'm sure Steven Gerrard would like another goal to settle any nerves. However, history favours his side.

On the past 10 occasions when Rangers have scored the first goal against Hamilton they have gone on to win the game.

The Ibrox side have failed to win just once in the league after scoring first this season, a home draw with Kilmarnock.
