  1. Thank you and goodbye

FT: Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

    Kemar Roofe celebrates

So early goals in both halves and Leeds come away with all three points.

It's a disappointing end to the Dave Whelan era at Wigan Athletic, but for Leeds fans the future looks very bright as they move back to the top of the table with Kemar Roofe scoring for the third successive match.

  2. Tight at the top

FT: Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

    Championship table

It's tight at the top of the Championship.

That win for Leeds sees them go back to the top of the table on goal difference from Norwich City.

Some big games that might alter that next week - the Steel City derby sees Sheffield United host Wednesday, while Derby host Aston Villa and Leeds travel to West Brom.

  3. Thanks Dave...

FT: Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

    Dave Whelan

So the Dave Whelan era ends in defeat, but Wigan fans can look back on his impact at the club with true fondness.

One FA Cup, a new ground and promotion from the fourth tier to the top flight all attained in 23 years.

No pressure on the new owners who take over next week.....

  4. FULL-TIME

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

    Wigan v Leeds

Leeds go top of the Championship with a well-controlled victory over Wigan.

The Latics took an early lead when Reece James curled in a sixth-minute free kick, but Pablo Hernandez equalised from close range three minutes later.

Kemar Roofe sealed the points seconds after the restart as he walked the ball into an empty net after a mix-up between goalkeeper Chrisitan Walton and defender Cedric Kipre.

It's the first time Leeds have come from a goal down to win a game since Boxing Day last year.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORK

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

Pablo Hernandez hits the post from eight yards out and Jamie Shackleton's rebound effort clips Kemar Roofe and goes wide.

    Should have been three.....

  6. YELLOW CARD

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

Sam Morsy goes in the book for Wigan for persistent fouling.

His fifth booking of the season means the Wigan skipper misses the trip to Middlesbrough next week.

  9. Post update

That just sums up Wigan's day.

They win a free kick on the right which they float in, let it bounce and it goes out for a throw in on the other side of the pitch.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

Final change for Wigan manager Paul Cook - James Vaughan comes on to try and get a late goal, replacing Darron Gibson.

    So close for Wigan...

Their best move of the game so far leads to Callum McManaman picking the ball up on the corner of the 18-yard box.

The substitute curls an effort just over the Leeds bar.

  12. Post update

  15. Post update

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

    Optimistic effort from Pablo Hernandez.

The Leeds forward volleys a floated diagonal ball from the left, but it ends up high in the stands.

    Looked good though....

  16. Post update

  19. Post update

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

The Leeds fans are in full voice as they try to will their side on to a third goal.

In truth, this has been probably the quietest spell of an entertaining match - a lot of the play in the middle third with Leeds having more possession.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

    Wigan Athletic 1-2 Leeds United

First change of the day - Wigan are bringing on winger Callum McManaman in place of Joe Garner.

The big man has put himself about in this match, but not had a lot of end product.

Looks like Josh Windass will go and play up front.
