  1. That's all folks

Well, it might not have been the most goal-laden of nights in the Championship but you can guarantee Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis isn't bothered one iota about that.

His side are back up to second after a 2-0 win over Bolton.

Sheffield United's 0-0 draw with winless Birmingham City was enough to send them into the top six, while Steel City rivals Sheffield Wednesday fell to a 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Elsewhere, QPR's revival continued with a 2-0 win over Millwall and Reading fell to a 2-1 home defeat by Norwich.

We're back on Friday night with live text coverage of Wigan v Bristol City.

Thanks for your company tonight and enjoy the rest of your evening.

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

    Reading v Norwich

Norwich didn't make it particularly easy for themselves at the end but they hold on to secure victory.

  3. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

Goodness me - just for a very split second it looked like Reading were heading for a spectacular equaliser!

A shot comes in from fully 30 yards but it drifts narrowly wide of the post.

    Surely that's that?

  4. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

They're being a touch wasteful with possession here, are Norwich, eventually conceding a free-kick which allows Reading to pump the ball forward once more.

But the delivery is poor and, with 90 seconds left, the Canaries have a goal kick.

  5. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

After the hosts lump everyone forward for a set-piece, Norwich break swiftly - but there's no sign of taking the sting out of the game, instead looking for a killer third goal.

As it is, they win a corner.

  6. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

It's fast and frantic but, if anything, Norwich look the more likely to score the next goal.

Mario Vrancic nearly does just that too but is well denied by the goalkeeper.

We're into five minutes of stoppage time.

  7. Post update

    Reading 1-2 Norwich

Into the final few minutes at the Madejski.

Can the Royals find a late equaliser?

    Nott'm Forest 2-1 Sheff Wed

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest end their run of seven successive defeats by Sheffield Wednesday.

Goals from Lewis Grabban and Joao Carvalho put them in control before Steven Fletcher's late strike for the Owls gave them a glimmer of hope.

    Middlesbrough 2-0 Bolton

It might not have been too convincing but Boro boss Tony Pulis wont care.

Goals from George Saville and Britt Assombalonga send the Teessiders back up to second in the table.

Bolton had chances to level before Assombalonga's late second but it's now three defeats in their last four for them.

    QPR 2-0 Millwall

Queens Park Rangers hold on to beat Millwall at Loftus Road.

  11. GOAL: Middlesbrough 2-0 Bolton

    Britt Assombalonga (90 mins)

That'll be enough to give Middlesbrough all three points and send them back to second in the table.

It's another mistake from Bolton though, Mark Wilson's header back is short and Britt Assombalonga charges through and finishes it off.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham edged the second half at Bramall Lane but, despite a decent point, remain winless in the Championship.

  13. GOAL: Nott'm Forest 2-1 Sheff Wed

    Steven Fletcher (88 mins)

Can Wednesday come back from two goals down in successive games?

Owls sub Steven Fletcher's shot takes a big deflection and gives Forest keeper Costel Pantilimon no chance.

  14. GOAL: Reading 1-2 Norwich

    Mario Vrancic (73 mins)

    Norwich goal

Extraordinary, just seconds after reading level, Mario Vrancic puts the visitors back in front.

  15. Post update

    QPR 2-0 Millwall

QPR's Eberechi Eze goes down in the Millwall box and wants a penalty... but the referee books him for simulation.

It did look as though the Lions defender had caught his trailing leg.

    QPR v Millwall
  16. GOAL: Reading 1-1 Norwich

    Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (72 mins)

Reading sub Jon Dadi Bodvarsson gets the hosts back in it but not for long...

  17. Post update

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Bolton

    Another chance for Boro!

This time Jordan Hugill gets in behind the defence but his shot lacks power and Ben Alnwick in the Bolton goal is equal to it.

Strike partner Britt Assombalonga will probably think he should have passed it...

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Birmingham

Birmingham have hit the post for a second time!

Gary Gardner lines up a free-kick about 20 yards out and rattles the right upright with it. Unlucky.

  19. Post update

    Middlesbrough 1-0 Bolton

Couple of chances for Boro to put this one to bed.

First Britt Assombalonga is denied by a block from David Wheater and then defender Aden Flint heads wide from a corner.

  20. Post update

    Reading 0-1 Norwich

Alex Tettey heads over for the visitors in a rare foray forward.

Reading have been on top since the break but, not for the first time this season, they've lacked that cutting edge.
