  1. Cheerio

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

I'll sign off now. Thanks for your company this afternoon.

Celtic responded to what has been viewed as a sticky spell for them with a dominant display against Rangers. We only got one goal but the scoreline doesn't really tell the story of the game, with the visitors under siege for long spells and Allan McGregor making a number of great saves.

Remember, you can see highlights on Sportscene (17:55, BBC Two Scotland).

Will Celtic go on and bully the rest of the Premiership again and how will Rangers react to Steven Gerrard's first defeat? We won't have too long to wait to find out, with the action up and running again after the international break.

  2. Ntcham tops the player rater

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

No surprise to see match-winner Olivier Ntcham at the top of our player rater.

The Frenchman scored the only goal and helped the home side run the show in midfield.

The voting has closed but you can see the all of the marks out of 10 here.

  3. 'We showed Rangers how good we are'

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic captain Scott Brown has been talking to BBC Radio Scotland.

"It was exceptional from our point of view. We showed Rangers how good we are.

"They put 11 men behind the ball and tried to make it hard for us but we face that week-in, week-out and eventually got the goal.

"We could have had a lot more if it wasn't for Allan McGregor."

  4. What next?

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

We've got an international break as Scotland get ready to take on Belgium and Albania at Hampden.

When the Premiership resumes, Celtic are away at St Mirren on Friday 14 September and Rangers host Dundee the next day.

  5. Post update

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: Rangers did not offer enough in attack. I think fans will be left a wee bit flat after all the hype
  6. Post update

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Michael Stewart

Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: Celtic never allowed Rangers to get forward, they just constantly kept at them. There's no doubt they were the better side
  7. The referee has cost us - Gerrard

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Some more from Steven Gerrard's interview with Sky Sports...

"Celtic were better in the first half and had a lot of the play, but it was in front of us. Look, they’re a good team. They’ve won the treble twice, won six trophies, and had 150 games together. I thought we made it a contest of it in the second half and created a few decent openings.

"If we’d have lost to a moment of class or brilliance, I’d handle it but the referee has cost us.

"The game is still fresh and still hurts. I’ve asked questions of this squad and we’ve done great closing the gap but we still need to get better and improve.

"We need to not to focus on officials but focus on ourselves and trying to improve. And hopefully the next time Celtic come around, we can play better for 90 minutes rather than just turning up for 45."

  8. 'It’s blatant, a 100% foul'

    FT: Rangers 1-0 Celtic

Steven Gerrard is not happy with the Celtic goal...

The Rangers boss tells Sky Sports: "It’s a foul. The referee has ignored it and they go and score. I just went in and had a calm chat and wondered why he didn’t listen to the fourth official. How he hasn’t seen a clear swipe on Ryan Jack by Rogic… It’s blatant, a 100% foul."

  9. Post update

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller

Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: You can't go to Celtic Park and be spectators - that's what Rangers did in the first half
  10. 'The scoreline doesn't really reflect our dominance'

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic's Brendan Rodgers is a satisfied manager...

"We were the very dominant team for start to finish," he tells BBC Radio Scotland. "Defensively, we were strong, we pressed the game well and had the courage and quality to play.

"Steven (Gerrard) has done well getting them organised so we had to be patience. The scoreline doesn't really reflect our dominance.

"We showed a calmness to play round them and play through them. Our only complaint is not scoring one or two more.

"It's an important three points for us. There's a lot more to come from this squad."

  11. Post update

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic were not quite as dominant in the second half as they were in the first, but crucially they got their goal through Olivier Ntcham.

  12. Not long until Sportscene

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

You'll be able to watch the highlights when Sportscene goes on air (BBC Two Scotland at 17:55).

There's certainly plenty for dynamic duo Michael Stewart and Steven Thompson to chew over with host Jonathan Sutherland.

Was there a foul in the build up to the goal?

Was Allan McGregor, who made a series of great saves, lucky to avoid an early red card?

Were Rangers too defensive - or simply overpowered by the better team?

  13. 'Big result for Celtic'

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Pat Bonner

Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: It's been a while since I've seen that type of reaction from the Celtic players. It's a big result for them with all that's been going on, they needed this result.

  14. 'Celtic showed their class'

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Willie Miller

Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: You've got to be disappointed with Rangers' tactics. It was only when they went a goal down they started to attack and come into the game. Celtic had more class, the better organisation and the greater belief.
  15. Post update

    FT: Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic move up to second place in the Premiership, three points behind Hearts, who have won four from four.

Rangers stay seventh in the table on five points.

  17. FULL-TIME Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic take three points and make an emphatic point with a well-deserved victory.

Olivier Ntcham got the only goal, with the champions well on top throughout the afternoon.

A first Rangers defeat for Steven Gerrard.

  18. Post update

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

Celtic introduce Scott Sinclair to waste some time. A huge cheer from the home fans as Leigh Griffiths nutmegs Borna Barisic in the corner while wasting even more time...

  19. Boyata stands tall for Celtic

    Celtic 1-0 Rangers

    Billy Dodds

    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

Quote Message: Rangers haven't asked many questions but when they have put the ball into the box Dedryck Boyata has dealt with everything
