  3. FULL-TIME

    FT: Reading 4-0 Yeovil

Kelly Chambers' well-drilled Reading school Yeovil, managed by former Millwall Lionesses boss Lee Burch.

The Lady Glovers huffed and puffed in the second half and had a smattering of chances, but never really looked like they'd get back into the game.

  4. WATCH: Arsenal Women 5-0 Liverpool Women highlights

So a point apiece for Chelsea and Man City after that goalless draw, but top of the table after the first set of matches will be Arsenal, who put in a commanding performance earlier against Liverpool.

See how the Gunners dominated the lunchtime kick-off in the highlights below...

  5. Post update

FT: Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

    Kelly Smith

Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 live

"That was by no means a dull game, it was quite entertaining even without any goals.

"Both sides were desperate not to give anything away there on the opening weekend, but it's clear to see they will both be challenging each other this season for the title."

  6. FULL-TIME

FT: Brighton Women 0-1 Bristol City Women

Lucy Graham's second-half strike means Tanya Oxtoby's side have their first three points of the season.

  7. FULL-TIME

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Chelsea Women v Man City Women

Not to be a dramatic finish as the full-time whistle goes.

They couldn't be separated and the top two from last season share the points on the opening weekend.

  8. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Still playing as a result of that Jill Scott injury.

Time for a very, very late winner???

  9. SUBSTITUTION

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Jill Scott takes a knock and has to leave in the closing stages to be replaced by Belgium midfielder Tessa Wullaert.

  10. FULL-TIME

FT: Birmingham City Women 1-0 Everton Ladies

Mark Skinner's side have their first three points of the season thanks to Charlie Wellings' goal inside the first minute.

  11. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Erin Cuthbert finds the ball at her feet for Chelsea and decides why not, let's have a crack on goal.

Her right-foot effort always rising and Karen Bardsley can cling on.

  12. INJURY TIME

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Three minutes to be added on at the end of the 90....

  13. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Man City have done a pretty good job here of soaking up the seconds on the clock after some lusty challenges by Chelsea.

Jill Scott taking her time to get back on her feet from a Karen Carney challenge and then Nikita Parris doing the same under pressure from Drew Spence.

  14. Post update

    Reading 4-0 Yeovil

Right on cue, Gemma Davison breaches the Yeovil defence to strike the bar, and a second through ball from her to Brooke Chaplen sees Reading drag a further shot wide.

This Reading dominance is relentless. Won't somebody think of the children?

  15. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Steph Houghton again in at the right time with a telling block for Man City.

Romona Bachmann was threatening to take a strike on the edge of the penalty area but Houghton sticks out a left leg at the right time to prevent her.

  16. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Closing stages now at Kingsmeadow and still nobody has the ascendancy.

Both sides have given it plenty of endeavour but still we're waiting for a breakthrough as a Drew Spence shot for Chelsea doesn't have anywhere near enough power to trouble Karen Bardsley.

  17. Post update

    Reading 4-0 Yeovil

Gemma Davison picks out Brooke Chaplen with a cutting through-ball, but Yeovil goalkeeper Megan Walsh scurries down to save with her feet and knocks the danger clear.

Reading's dominance shows little sign of easing up.

  18. Post update

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

And Erin Cuthbert is almost there to notch the first goal of the game.

Fran Kirby bursts into space down the Man City right and then sends a ball across the face of their six-yard area that's just out of Cuthbert's reach as she tries to sprint on to it.

  19. Post update

    Reading 4-0 Yeovil

Jo Potter's corner lands on the head of Rachel Furness, but she directs the chance over as Reading's dominance against a beleaguered Yeovil continues.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

Chelsea Women 0-0 Man City Women

Final change for Chelsea as So-Yun Ji is replaced by Erin Cuthbert.
