    No goals in the second half so Glenavon secure the points at the Showgrounds.

    There was a bit of controversy over Glenavon's opener on 22 minutes. Mark Sykes went down as Coleman attempted to make the save - referee Tim Marshall awarded the penalty but Newry claimed there was no contact. Gary Muir stepped up to slot home the spot-kick.

    Stephen Donnelly doubled Glenavon's lead on 34 minutes with a dink past keeper Andy Coleman.

    Newry pulled one back as Stephen Teggart blasted in a minute before the break.
