  1. Adios amigos...

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

That, my friends, is enough from me. I have to go and write a match report on that latest Liverpool win.

Jurgen Klopp is handing out hugs and Mohamed Salah got a big one.

Thanks for your company and have a great Saturday night.

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

A job well done. Liverpool were far from vintage today but thoughts of a three-game losing run are squashed thanks to Mohamed Salah's penalty.

The fact Brighton were pushing a little at the death is testament to the grind Jurgen Klopp's side faced but guess what? They are seven points clear.

    Jonathan Pearce

BBC Match of the Day commentator at Amex Stadium

Liverpool have done just about enough.

  4. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Florin Andone is in behind in the right channel. Can he pick someone out?

A low ball is aimed at Jurgen Locadia but Trent Alexander-Arnold gets a flick on it to take it out of the forward's path. Liverpool under pressure when they seemed in total control.

What a key flick that was and in truth, Alexander-Arnold only got a small connection on it.

  5. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

We will have four added minutes.

  6. 'Too casual'

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

    Nigel Reo-Coker

Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I don't know if it was a late reaction of if it has just hit Salah. I don't think he expected it. Too casual.

  7. A big miss!

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Mohamed Salah puts his head in his hands. A James Milner cut-back appeared to present a sitter but the Egyptian made poor contact and it bobbles an inch wide.

Could it prove costly as Brighton get ready to swing a free-kick into the box.

Liverpool stand tall and clear. There's a penalty shout for handball but it appears it struck a Brighton arm in the melee.

  8. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Sadio Mane surges forward at the heart of the home defence. This is half a chance opening up... he hits from 20 yards... deflected... wide.

Liverpool are three minutes from a seven-point lead at the top of the table.

Dave Payn: Whatever reputation precedes Salah, that was a definite penalty.

Steven Jerjian: Gross clearly has a fistful of Salah's shirt, which would be a free-kick anywhere else on the pitch so by the rules it's a penalty. You could argue whether that should be the case, but Salah going down 'easily' or not is irrelevant

Jackpot: All the sour grapes out now! They would sign Salah in a second!

  10. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

A record home attendance has just been announced as home fans sing "one nil to the referee".

The home side look more purposeful for sure but that bit of quality is lacking and they again lose the ball in midfield, Anthony Knockaert the villain this time.

Liverpool show patience and run the clock down. Roberto Firmino is floating into midfield now to add an extra body and ensure possession is maintained.

  11. 'Players lacking'

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

    Nigel Reo-Coker

Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I don't think the Brighton manager Chris Hughton could have done anything more with the way he has set his team up. That little bit of extra conviction and belief has to come from the players on the pitch and I'm not sure they have delivered that today.

    Anthony Knockaert
  12. CLOSE!

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Mohamed Salah helps create some shooting space for Georginio Wijnaldum 18 yards from goal and his shot is a good one but fractionally fizzes wide.

    Mo Salah
  13. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Suddenly there's a touch more space out there with Brighton showing mild intent. Trent Alexander-Arnold can't make anything of it though as his low cross is cut out.

Brighton come forward down the left through Gaetan Bong and his cross is dangerous to the near stick. The referee gives a free-kick Liverpool's way for a high foot in the box by Florin Andone.

    Better from the home side.

  14. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

A lovely dip of the shoulder from Roberto Firmino in midfield opens the game up and he moves with purpose to lash a shot from 25 yards which David Button parries away.

  15. Post update

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Panic, panic, panic in the area for Brighton as a Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick comes into the mixer. Lewis Dunk hacks clear in the six-yard box... corner.

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

James Milner is coming on in place of Xherdan Shaqiri in a move designed to shore Liverpool up. They've stopped playing a bit in the last 10 minutes and have just generally consolidated. Sadio Mane wins a free-kick near the corner flag though which will prove a threat...

    Sadio Mane and Martin Montoya
  17. CLOSE!

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Jurgen Locadia cuts in from the left flank and shoots right footed from 30 yards. It has pace on it and goes just wide via a deflection.

In comes the corner and home fans want a penalty and Shane Duffy falls but there's little contact.

  18. 'I would smell blood'

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

    Nigel Reo-Coker

Former West Ham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I would smell blood. Liverpool have come off two defeats, take the game to them, Brighton have given them too much respect and Liverpool have capitalised on it.

    Andrew Robertson

    Brighton 0-1 Liverpool

Lewis Dunk shows a little panic in the area to lift the ball over his own cross bar while under no real pressure. His side are getting two substitutes ready in Florin Andone and Anthony Knockaert.

A chance to make Manchester City and Tottenham fans love them awaits.

Glenn Murray is brought down on halfway and that draws a sarcastic cheer from home fans who think the have had a tough day at the hands of the referee. The subs come, Murray goes off.

Richard Browne: I’m not actually sure how you could air kick like that twice while “diving”. Seriously people.

Ayo: It's now becoming lottery, touch Salah and he gets a penalty. Simply pathetic.

Kiefer Sutton: May as well start every Liverpool game with Salah rolling around on the floor and a penalty to Liverpool.
