This season's FA Cup story continues
with the preliminary round taking place ahead of the first round of qualifying.
Whilst a trip to Wembley is a unrealistic
target for the likes of Prestwich Heys and Radcliffe FC, there is still plenty to play for
across the 160 ties this weekend.
Heys play in
the North West Counties League Division One North, the ninth tier of English
football, and are in the FA Cup for the first time since 1983. They defeated
Abbey Hey 2-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round two weeks ago.
Radcliffe FC are from the Northern
Premier League Division One West, two divisions higher than Heys. They reached the first round of the competition in 2000 and are
managed by former professionals Jon Macken and Frank Sinclair.
