  1. Goodbye

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

If you missed any of the action in Moscow this evening, where have you been?

Luckily, you can read the match report here.

That's all from me. Thanks for joining!

  2. Post update

Not had enough football for today?

There's currently live text coverage of Germany's World Cup warm up match against Saudi Arabia here.

You can also read all about the icon on the official 2018 World Cup poster, and the only goalkeeper to ever win the Ballon d'Or, Lev Yashin, here.

  3. England go top

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

That could prove to be a huge three points for the Lionesses following Wales' victory at home to Bosnia & Herzegovina last night.

Two games to go in the World Cup qualifying campaign and a place at France 2019 remains in their hands.

Phil Neville's side face Wales next on 8 August - which will be crucial in determining the Group A winners if Wales can achieve a result on Tuesday against Russia.

    Updated Group A table
  4. Neville the perfectionist

    Sue Smith

    Former England forward

I know Phil Neville wants perfection so he won't be happy they conceded that goal but they were largely defensively solid.

  5. FULL-TIME

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Three points in Russia. Back to the top of Group A. Job done for England.

  6. Overall - excellent

    Sue Smith

    Former England forward

It's been a real professional performance.

They've controlled the game and did everything they had to do. They had a five minute blip but overall I think they've been excellent.

  7. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

It's gone pretty much to plan for Phil Neville's side tonight. They've played some lovely stuff and completely controlled the second half in Moscow.

They switched off for one moment, which temporarily allowed Russia back into the game but the third goal seemed to take a lot of fight out of the Russian players.

  8. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

A moment of late danger for England but Carly Telford is equal to Ekaterina Sochneva's scuffed effort.

The board is up. We'll have four minutes of added time.

  9. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Next up for Russia after tonight is a trip to Wales on Tuesday.

Wales boss Jayne Ludlow will be paying close attention to this one and hoping Russia offer as much attacking threat as they have done against England in this second half.

It certainly looks like a two-team race for automatic qualification now in Group A.

  10. SUBSTITUTION

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Leah Williamson comes on for her England debut in place of Keira Walsh for the final five minutes or so.

Walsh has been rock solid in the centre for England this evening.

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Elena Fomina makes another change as Elena Danilova is replaced by Ekaterina Sochneva.

  12. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Russia finally make a break over the halfway line but Nadezhda Smirnova fires a speculative shot high and wide.

Surely they have to go for broke soon.

  13. Post update

    Sue Smith

    Former England forward

Fran Kirby has been kicked and brought down but she keeps going. She gets up and keeps doing the things she's good at.

  14. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

England are very happy to just knock the ball around here as the clock runs down.

Russia are glued to the edge of their own penalty area and look much happier to contain than attack.

Perhaps they're just mesmerised by Fran Kirby's dizzying runs.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Change for Russia as Nelli Korovkina replaces Ekaterina Pantyukhina.

  16. Russia not consistent

    Sue Smith

    Former England forward

It's consistency with them. They'll string a few passes together and you see a bit of quality but that's it.

  17. SUBSTITUTION

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Ellen White leaves the pitch to be replaced by Jodie Taylor.

The Seattle Reign forward already has two qualification goals to her name, any more tonight?

  18. Post update

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Twenty minutes into this second half and no sign yet that Russia are prepared to throw the kitchen sink at England to keep their World Cup hopes alive.

Good news for the Lionesses, who continue to knock the ball about with ease.

  19. Post update

    Sue Smith

    Former England forward

Toni Duggan is really enjoying her time at Barcelona and there's a real swagger to her play since the move.

    She's had a good game.

  20. SUBSTITUTION

    Russia Women 1-3 England Women

Arsenal's Beth Mead replaces Toni Duggan, whose cross to Nikita Parris just after twenty minutes got England up and running.

A strong performance from the 26-year-old.
