Villa 1-0 Leeds
Job done by Steve Bruce's side as they claim a 14th home win of 2017-18 - their best tally in a season since Tony Barton's day in 1983-84.
On a night when they mathematically assured themselves of a play-off place, they're still in the frame for automatic promotion. But, although they will not have sent too many shivers down their rivals' spines, they still won. And there's nothing more impressive at the end of a long, hard season than winning ugly!
Hope it's all a bit prettier when the BBC's Championship live text service resumes tomorrow with the Sheffield United-Millwall lunchtime clash at Bramall Lane.
But don't bet on it!

Mark Wilkins: Fulham to go up automatically and Millwall to come through the play offs.... You heard it here first!
Reaction
FT: Villa 1-0 Leeds
Villa scorer Lewis Grabban tells Sky Sports: "We scrapped it out."
"At this stage of the season, it's three points," adds his team-mate Robert Snodgrass.
No, it wasn't that pretty. But it was effective.
And there's not much more to say than that!
'It doesn't matter if it's an ugly game'
FT: Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Garry Thompson
Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC WM 95.6
It doesn't matter if it's an ugly game, a scrappy game, just get the result. See the game out, which they did tonight.
Over to you Cardiff and Fulham, let's see what you can do.
FULL-TIME
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Only a second defeat in 11 league meetings with Villa for Leeds - and a lot of signs of hope from their young team. But its Villa's night.
They move to within two points of second-placed Fulham, ahead of the Cottagers' Saturday teatime derby date at home to play-off hopefuls Brentford tomorrow.

Last throw of the dice for Leeds but Villa break away and Grealish is legged up on the edge of the box. Free kick is blocked and it's almost time up.

It might be a long three minutes for Villa fans though.

Max: Some sporadic good play but Villa don’t convince me. Not same fluidity as Fulham and I fear for them in the playoffs...
SUBSTITUTION
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Chris Samba on at the back for Villa. Josh Onomah is the man to make way as Steve Bruce tightens things up.
Have Villa settled for 1-0 then?

Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Great defending at the far post by Tom Pearce to deny Robert Snodgrass, then also by Matthew Pennington to thwart the darting Scott Hogan. Villa now seemingly scenting a second.
Post update
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Steve Bruce has never lost a home match against Leeds United as a manager - in seven matches against seven different Leeds managers - and, let's face it, there have been a few.
It looks like the name Heckingbottom will be added to those of Venables, Gray, Blackwell, Wise, Warnock, Evans and Monk.
But will Bruce's Villa claim all three points?
'Grabban worked hard'
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Garry Thompson
Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC WM 95.6
Lewis Grabban took his goal well, he's chased back when Villa were sloppy. There are still little bits you think he can do better, but he has worked hard today.
SUBSTITUTION
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Scott Hogan comes on for Villa's scorer Lewis Grabban.
Again, it's a double change, with one at the other end too, as Kemar Roofe is replaced by on-loan Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Another fine save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell, this time to deny Albert Adomah at the near post, after good work by Jack Grealish.

Jack Grealish looking to be a hero again for Villa but he flashes his left-foot shot over.

Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
James Chester so agonizingly close to a second as he almost latches onto Josh Onomah's lofted pass. After his three goals in March, in successive games, it looks like his purple patch is over.
SUBSTITUTION
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Jay-Roy Grot replaces Ezgjan Alioski for Leeds
And it's time for Jonathan Kodjia to make his exit too. Albert Adomah comes on for the hosts.
Post update
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Kemar Roofe might have done better with a header and the Villa defence then have to block frantically again.
GREAT SAVE!
Aston Villa 1-0 Leeds
Bailey Peacock-Farrell to the rescue again, with a pointblank save from the unmarked Lewis Grabban.
He also blocks the follow-up effort from Jonathan Kodjia, by which time the lino's flag has gone up. But the keeper wasn't to know that! Leeds badly exposed.
