    Until the next time.

  2. 'Stoke were a little lucky'

    Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Sport:

"First of all I take a point, it is positive even if we had more possession and all that, but today was a difficult, intense time for us. I saw everything I wanted to see except fluency and fun and joy, it is hard on a day like this. Stoke were a little lucky in some situations.

"We had to make changes, that is always a bit of a rhythm breaker, in the final third everything is instinct between the regulars, and we missed a bit of that. But no-one was seriously injured so we carry on.

"The best manager I ever had always said it will be a very important point at the end. That’s how we take it.

"For me it looked a pen, a clear one. I said a few time in games like this, maybe in the Champions League against Manchester City we were lucky, in the Premier League, not one time. We should have got more penalties, we don’t have them.

"But I'm happy how the boys took the game. It was not our best game of course not. And I said a lot of positive things about the crowd, but you cannot only react to what is happening in the game. You have to be on your toes, we can improve that."

  3. 'Big belief we can stay up'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke defender Kurt Zouma speaking to Sky Sports:

"The game plan was to try and win, we knew they would press us and attack. We were solid at the back, the effort from every single player was great, we deserved the draw. The target was to grab something from here and we did.

"There are two games to go, we need to win those. It is not going to be easy but with the mentality and effort we showed today we can keep going.

"There is a big belief we can stay up, everyone is confident."

  4. 'Officials cost us three points'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson speaking to Sky Sports:

"I think we should have won, we created enough chances, I felt we dominated and we should have won comfortably.

"It looked a clear penalty, on the TV it is blatant. If his hand isn't there Alberto is there for a tap in, so it is a poor decision from the referee and the linesman and it has cost us three points.

"It was a challenge, Stoke are fighting for their lives, it is tough. We were in a good moment after midweek, we started OK but tailed off at the end of the first half. In the second we had a right good go and should have won.

"I think the intensity was good, the attitude was good, it was coming. Unfortunately we couldn't find the net today. Still, there are two games left to get Champions League football."

  5. 'We will take a fight'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke manager Paul Lambert, speaking to BBC Sport: "We deserved it. We came with a good game plan and played a really good game; the commitment, throwing bodies into challenges, and we might have nicked it.

"All I wanted was a chance to go into the last few games with a chance [of staying up]. Hopefully results will go our way. It's not for the faint-hearted, that is for sure. I thought Erik Pieters played brilliantly. Mohamed Salah has been on fire but he was outstanding.

"I could not have asked for any more. If the lads had played like that from the start of the season, I would not be here and they would be cruising in the league. We are in a fight. I will take the fight for anything, and so will the lads."

    On the penalty appeal:

"Listen if that is a penalty we may as well all just have left. It is never a penalty. You can understand Jurgen's frustration about it but it's no penalty."

  6. 'I hate to be reliant on other the teams'

    Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke midfielder Joe Allen speaking to Sky Sports:

"We hope it is an important point. We wanted three of course, it is tough, in the first half they created chances, defensively we can’t ask for more, I hope it helps us.

"No I'm not really worried about penalties, it is by his side, it shouldn’t be given, we would have felt hard done by if it was.

"We need to take this performance into the next two games, have a bit more creativity and take our chances. We will do everything we can.

"I hate to be reliant on other teams, but that‘s the situation, let’s hope for some good luck, hopefully our point puts pressure on some of the other teams."

  7. 'Salah was razor sharp'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Garth Crooks

BBC Sport football expert on Final Score

Today I thought Mo Salah looked razor sharp, and I was surprised he missed that chance in the first half. But for Jurgen Klopp, he'll just be happy Salah has come through the match unscathed.

Khan Karn: How costly would the ref error be if Liverpool lose to Chelsea and miss out on top four. Could happen too.

  9. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Stoke's two remaining fixtures:

    - Crystal Palace (h) 5 May

    - Swansea (a) 13 May

What a final match of the season that could be - if Paul Lambert's side survive that long.

  10. 'Stoke fail to close out games'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Garth Crooks

BBC Sport football expert on Final Score

Liverpool could have been 3-0 up before Mohamed Salah even had his golden chance.

But on Stoke, this is the third time I've seen them not close out a game, they did it against West Ham, Burnley and it was the same again today. And when you look back at the end of the season, these three games might cost them.

  11. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he "saw everything I wanted to see apart form fluency and fun and joy".

He adds: "Stoke were a bit lucky in one or two situations. Still, 0-0, no injuries, so let's carry on."

    Full quotes to come shortly.

  12. 'Goal difference will kill Stoke'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Danny Mills

Former England defender on Final Score

There is hope for Stoke because they can win their next two games, and I don't think Swansea will pull anything out the bag against Chelsea, but the goal difference is what will kill them, for me.

  13. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Not much change at the top of the table. Liverpool would have leapfrogged Manchester United had they found a late winner.

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Pl bottom of the table

It's not in their hands, but it's not all over either.

Swansea play at home to Chelsea at 17:30 BST. A win effectively sends Stoke down.

  16. 'Stoke deserve their point'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Dion Dublin

Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC 5 live

Stoke must have thought from the first minute if Salah can't put away that one-on-one chance, we have a chance.

The way they set up suited the game, it didn't suit Liverpool. They deserve the point, Paul Lambert got it right.

  19. 'A great point for Stoke'

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

    Dion Dublin

Ex-Aston Villa striker on BBC 5 live

For Stoke, depending on what happens later today, it's a great point. They will have come here and just said "do not lose", and they've managed to do that. Liverpool didn't do enough against a team that were set up with nine men behind the ball.

  20. Post update

    FT: Liverpool 0-0 Stoke

Paul Lambert is out on the pitch looking for his players, shaking every pair of hands.

Will this point be enough? Perhaps not, but the momentum?

Jurgen Klopp offers an almost apologetic palm to the fans hanging over the entrance to the tunnel.

Liverpool minds will quickly turn to Wednesday.
