  1. Lights out for Scots across Europe

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

That's all folks from me and from Scottish teams' interest in European football for another season.

Tomorrow, it's back to domestic business as Livingston host Dundee United as the pair chase St Mirren at the top of the Scottish Championship.

Meanwhile, it is back to the drawing board for Brendan Rodgers and Celtic as they look to improve their poor away form in European competition.

Celtic's Mikael Lustig, Charly Musonda and manager Brendan Rodgers applaud the fans
  2. Billy about to be a hero?

    Arsenal 0-2 Ostersunds (agg 3-2)

Six more ties kicked off at 20:00 and Scotland could yet have some interest in the last 16.

Former Hamilton Academical manager Billy Reid is assistant to Englishman Graham Potter at Ostersunds and the Swedish side, 3-0 down after their home leg, are amazingly 2-0 up against Arsenal in London in the second.

You can follow that game live here.

  4. Celtic 'lacked courage and consistency'

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers: "Defensively, we lacked aggression, especially in the first half.

"We didn't defend forward well enough. But, at 2-0 down, we were still in the game and we had to show bravery.

"Second half, we started okay, but we again concede the possession too cheaply.

"Across two games, we were much better than them in the first game.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers looks disappointed

"In this one, if we had showed more courage and more belief, we could have got a result.

"I think there's still an awful lot of work for us to do, but there have been a lot of positives for us in both competitions."

Asked what his side have to do to compete better at this level, Rodgers added: "It is probably just consistency. Last week was an outstanding performance and you would think that would allow us to come into this game with confidence."

  5. Defensive problems continue for Celtic

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

While we wait for reaction from Brendan Rodgers, you can have a read of Martin Dowden's impressions of the match in Saint Petersburg.

  6. Aberdeen to face backlash?

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: Brendan Rodgers has a job to lift his players. Perversely, going out of Europe might help Celtic in their title push and they will look for a reaction, which is not good news for Aberdeen on Sunday
  7. Celtic dominate possession

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Oh how statistics can lie at times.

Celtic apparently had 67% possession, but that did not translate into winning the game.

Zenit were rarely troubled by the visitors, whose three shots were tame in comparison to their clinical hosts.

  8. Extra game made difference - Mancini

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Zenit head coach Roberto Mancini on BT Sport: "We played better than Celtic. I think we played good game in Glasgow, but it was the first game after the winter break.

"The games were different for this reason.

"We were so tired after 70 minutes, but that is normal."

Asked whether his side could go on and win the tournament, Mancini replied: "I don't feel that we can win because there are many strong teams and we are a young team."

  10. 'Celtic bitterly disappointed'

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

    Pat Bonner

Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: On paper, it is progress after finishing third in their Champions League group, but they will be bitterly disappointed to go out after giving themselves a fantastic chance after the first leg. It was always going to be difficult, but I was looking for a performance home and away. They got it at home last week, but unfortunately they didn't get it tonight
  11. 'Lulled into a false sense of security'

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

    Steven Thompson

Former Scotland striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: There is a world of difference in terms of spending power and Zenit's performance last week maybe lulled people into a false sense of security. Celtic have made progress by getting beyond Christmas in Europe, but it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth
  12. Toothless Celtic

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

    Scott McDonald

Former Celtic striker on BBC Sportsound

Quote Message: For all the chances Celtic had in the first leg, they failed to kill it off and it was toothless tonight
  13. It’s the hope that kills you

FT: Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

    Martin Dowden

BBC Sport Scotland in St Petersburg

Many within the small band of Celtic supporters who travelled to St Petersburg must have arrived with a real dose of optimism after the promise of the first leg.

All three Zenit goals were avoidable. The home side were better than last week but did not dominate here to the same level as Celtic did last week.

It is a major disappointment for Brendan Rodgers despite him placing Zenit as favourites.

His side worked so hard for a platform to bring to Russia but threw it away carelessly.

To progress in Europe next season, Celtic must be stronger at the back. It was defensive deja vu; a script performed many times on European travels.

  14. FULL-TIME Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Time runs out on Celtic's Europa League run.

Roberto Mancini's big-spending Zenit move into the last 16 with a convincing victory over a Celtic side who failed to reproduce anything like the performance that gave them a 1-0 first-leg win.

  15. Post update

Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

The ball falls to Scott Sinclair inside the Zenit penalty box, but the winger is unable to get a shot away and Celtic's claims for a penalty are waved away as we enter three minutes of stoppage time.

  16. Post update

Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Branislav Ivanovic leaves to a hero's reception.

The former Chelsea defender, returning from an eye injury on his 33rd birthday, scored Zenit's opener and set up the third.

He is replaced with Igor Smolnikov.

  17. Post update

Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Scott Sinclair sets up Kieran Tierney on the left wing and the full-back's cross has to be hacked away in front of his own goal by Miha Mevlja.

Good defending, but there was no real pressure on the Russian defender.

It's all petering out for Celtic.

  18. Post update

Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Savastian Driussi replaces fellow Argentine forward Emiliano Rigoni as Zenit coach Roberto Mancini introduces fresh legs.

  20. Post update

Zenit St Petersburg 3-0 Celtic (agg 3-1)

Roberto Mancini makes a change, with midfielder Aleksandr Erokhin replacing striker Anton Zabolotny as the Italian coach looks to protect the two-goal lead.
