  1. Good night

Good night one and all - the main story in town tonight is the use of VAR to award a goal at Leicester.

    Read all about it here.

We'll be back for more tomorrow night, while the tennis live from Australia will be up and running in a few hours to see you through hte night.

Julian Gold: Not a Vardy day so much as a VAR-day?

    That's gold from Gold.

    Jamie Vardy
  3. This is how it feels to beat Shrewsbury...

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

...this is how it feels to Reece Burke

Joe, Leicester: I don’t like video umpires in cricket, or video referees in rugby and I certainly can’t see how VAR will improve football. It will be too heavily relied upon because, and it always boils down to it, it isn’t a sport it’s a business. Money money money.

It did sort of improve it tonight, didn't it?

  5. VAR used

    Leicester 2-0 Fleetwood

The use of VAR is the main talking point of tonight.

Here's the historic goal again in case you've missed it.

  6. 'Fair play'

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

  7. Who's through?

    A quick summary then:

    Leicester will face Peterborough

    Cardiff will face Manchester City

    Sheffield Wednesday will play Reading

West Ham will play Bournemouth or Wigan

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

West Ham are through! They will face Wigan or Bournemouth in round four.

  9. 'Excellent Shrews'

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Matthew Upson

Former West Ham and England defender on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

I have to say, Shrewsbury have been excellent tonight. No matter what the result is tonight, this is only going to give them confidence playing like this here in this stadium. I can see why they're doing so well in League One and this will give them the confidence to carry on for the rest of the season.

  10. Post update

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

Chance for Toni Martinez to get off the mark for West Ham as well but he scuffs a shot across the face of goal.

    Almost all over...

  11. Post update

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

Reece Burke is only 21 but he's scored for four clubs already now, having bagged on loan for Bradford, Wigan and Bolton on loan. His first Hammers goal is sending them into round four as we stand.

    Reece Burke
  12. Post update

    West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

So Shrewsbury have just over five minutes to save this tie...

Kenneth Field: I demand a retrospective VAR on Roger Milford's decisions in the 1991 FA Cup final.

Ben Ingram: So VAR works, who knew? It’s not like the technology has been around like, for ever! Or, like there has been any big tournament decisions that cost anyone in the past?

Chris Wimslow: Tonight’s VAR use highlights a major issue with it - linesmen will just rely on it. Even if a player is half a yard onside, they’ll flag and refer to VAR to be on the safe side. We’re going to see it 15-20 times a game.

Okay, so not everyone's sold on it, but it certainly seems like quite a few of you have changed your minds on VAR use in football tonight...

  14. GOAL - West Ham 1-0 Shrewsbury

    Reece Burke (112 mins)

There we go! Reece Burke has his first goal for West Ham and it's a belter too, the defender meets a cross on the half volley and crunches it in off the underside of the bar!

    A superb hit.

    Reece Burke
  15. Last 10 minutes

    West Ham 0-0 Shrewsbury

Any joy of a goal at all? Doesn't look like it.

  16. Post update

    West Ham 0-0 Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury midfielder Ben Godfrey, 20 yesterday, has been excellent again tonight. He bossed the first game and he looks a real prospect.

    He's on loan from Norwich.

  17. Post update

    West Ham 0-0 Shrewsbury

Quick turnaround, away we go again.

  18. HALF-TIME in Extra Time

    West Ham 0-0 Shrewsbury

Closer in that 15 minutes but still West ham can't find a way through.

We are almost on to penalties...

Joel Murray: Fine, the atmosphere was killed and the goal is an anti-climax, but it’s better to have the right decision when it is so tight and the technology is there.

Alastair Hastings: DRS works fine in Cricket, I can't believe football has waited so long - VAR is the future.
