  1. Leeds march to the top of the table

    Championship top six

The early-season Championship table makes pleasant viewing for Leeds United fans.

Unbeaten with five wins from seven means they move to the summit.

Cardiff drop off the top following their 3-0 loss at Preston, while Sheffield United go third with a victory at winless Bolton.

Thanks for your company this evening and we'll be back with live coverage of Fulham v Hull tomorrow.

    Cheers!

  2. EFL CUP FULL-TIME

    Barnsley 3-2 Derby

Away from the Championship, Barnsley will go on to face Tottenham in the third round of the EFL Cup third round after coming from 2-1 down to beat Derby.

Adam Hammill's 88th-minute goal settled an entertaining tie at Oakwell.

Phillip Gillivan: Great win for Leeds, long time since we have been top of any league. Great going guys

Gregory's Goals: I admit I lost my cool tonight, I smashed a squash racket. But Brucey is moulding something decent at Villa, defence looking solid

Tom Fisk: Would anyone really be that surprised by back to back relegations for Sunderland? I wouldn't that's for sure

There were certainly some disgruntled Sunderland fans calling for owner and chairman Ellis Short to go this evening...

    Short Out
  4. League Two headlines

    • Exeter remain top after coming from behind to win at Barnet in stoppage time.
    • Notts County move up to second with victory against Swindon, as Accrington slip to third with a home defeat by Grimsby.
    • Coventry go fourth, Lincoln move up to fifth and Newport go sixth with wins over Carlisle, Forest Green and Cheltenham respectively.
    • Port Vale lose to Luton and remain bottom as Chesterfield move out of the relegation zone with a draw at Colchester.
  5. FULL-TIME

    Bolton 0-1 Sheffield United

Bolton's winless start to the season goes on.

Sheffield United's fine first month back in the Championship continues.

Cameron Carter-Vickers' goal on his debut was enough for the Blades who are now up to third in the early-season table.

Bolton, unsurprisingly after no wins, are bottom.

  6. FULL-TIME

    Sheff Wed 2-1 Brentford

The Bees had time to force a very, very corner, but as Neal Maupay fires narrowly wide, that's the end of the game at Hillsborough.

Wednesday came from behind to earn a second straight victory.

  7. League One headlines

    • Shrewsbury stay top with a 1-0 win over Southend.
    • Second-placed Peterborough beat MK Dons 2-0 but third-placed Charlton fall to a 3-0 home defeat by Wigan.
    • Rotherham United hammer Walsall 5-1 and there are wins for Fleetwood, Blackpool and Blackburn.
    • Oldham beat Bristol Rovers to claim their first win of the season while Rochdale score twice in stoppage time to beat Doncaster 2-1.
  8. Post update

    Sheff Wed 2-1 Brentford

As the clock ticks in to the 104th minute, Brentford's Henrik Dalsgaard is stretchered off to thoughtful applause from all around Hillsborough.

That game should be seconds away from full-time, but everyone's concern at that match is focused on the well-being of the visitors' right-back.

    Play resumes.

  9. Delay and an injury concern

    Sheff Wed 2-1 Brentford

There is some concern for Brentford full-back Henrik Dalsgaard at Hillsborough, where the game is still not yet over because the Dane is being treated on the pitch for a worrying-looking injury.

The stretcher is on and he's been receiving treatment for quite a while. Fingers crossed he'll be OK.

There are reports that the problem is a possible head injury, hence the medical staff are being extra cautious.

  10. Post update

    Bolton 0-1 Sheffield United

Bolton still trail at home to Sheffield United by the way.

With all the late goals flying in, this game has passed us by.

Filipe Morais went close for the hosts at the Macron, his free-kick landing on the top of the net, but they've got five or so minutes to find an equaliser.

  11. FULL-TIME

    QPR 2-2 Millwall

And the whistle goes at Loftus Road, where they'll have to share the points, which will perhaps disappoint both teams for very different reasons.

  12. FULL-TIME

    Aston Villa 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Henri Lansbury

Aston Villa draw 0-0 at home for the second time in four days.

The visitors had Adama Traore sent off in the first five minutes but Henri Lansbury saw red for the hosts after an hour.

Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane's goalbound shot was blocked by team-mate Scott Hogan while Robert Snodgrass hit the Boro crossbar with an excellent chance.

    Villa remain 18th.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORK

    QPR 2-2 Millwall

Luke Freeman hits the bar from a free-kick! So close to a complete turnaround for the hosts, who were 2-0 down against 10 men.

  14. FULL-TIME

    Sunderland 0-1 Nottingham Forest

    Oh dear.

That's an absolute sickener for Sunderland, but jubilation for Nottingham Forest.

Sunderland created the better of the chances, but Daryl Murphy scored the one that counted late on for Forest.

The Black Cats have just one win from their first seven games - Forest have won four.

  15. Post update

    QPR 2-2 Millwall

They are still playing at Loftus Road, where QPR are pushing for what would be a very, very late winner.

  16. FULL-TIME

    Wolves 3-3 Bristol City

One of the most topsy-turvy games you will ever see comes to an end at Molineux.

Six goals, a lead changing hands several times, and some terrible defending.

This is the Championship. This is what happens!

  17. FULL-TIME

    Leeds 2-0 Birmingham

Leeds United will end the day top of the Championship.

A goal in each half from Samu Saiz and Stuart Dallas sees them battle past Birmingham.

Harry Redknapp's men slide into the relegation zone.

  18. FULL-TIME

    Preston 3-0 Cardiff

Cardiff's unbeaten start comes to an end. Preston are on fire!

  19. League One update

Rotherham are 5-1 up against Walsall now and Lee Frecklington has his hat-trick.

Elsewhere, there's been incredible drama at Bristol Rovers who recovered from 2-0 down against Oldham with 10 minutes to go only for Eoin Doyle to make it 3-2 to the Latics.

  20. GOAL: Leeds 2-0 Birmingham

    Stuart Dallas (90 mins)

    Leeds are going top!

The hosts scramble away a Birmingham City chance and break up to the other end where Stuart Dallas puts the game to bed with a fine strike.
