  1. Good night

And on that note we shall bid you farewell.

Champions League is back tomorrow. See you there?

  2. 'It was a definite penalty'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Chris Hughton: "We would have liked more. Overall the performance wasn't good enough to get three points. We showed great character to come back twice. The draw was a fair result. Our levels weren't perhaps what they've been in other games.

"We are going to concede goals - the frustration with their second is we worked hard to get back into the game and showed some naivety.

"It was a definite penalty. I was certain it would be given, if not by the referee then the linesman on that side.

"When video replays come in it will clear some of these instances up. At the moment you're relying on the referee making a judgement or getting into a position - and if that's not the case you have two assistants and a fourth official to help. I find it difficult to understand the assistant doesn't see it the same way I do."

  3. 'Great character'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton striker Glenn Murray on Sky Sports: "It felt very open, it was enjoyable to play in and we're disappointed we couldn't clinch it. We showed great character to come back twice. The unbeaten run's massive for us."

  4. 'Penalty decision was right'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes: "As an away side I suppose we have to be happy but we got ourselves into a winning position twice and didn't see it out. Brighton didn't cause us too many problems. We're disappointed with the goals we conceded.

"One of our things tonight was we created good opportunities in good areas and then you have to produce the quality ball."

    Was it a penalty?

"I thought at the time the lad splayed his legs a bit trying to get some contact. Ryan Shawcross was shepherding the ball out - you hold your breath in those moments. I thought the referee got the decision right."

  5. 'It's a penalty!'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

Chris Hughton on the Glenn Murray penalty incident: "My take is, I had a very good view of it and straight away I thought it was a penalty. I am really disappointed with that. There are two officials who can make a judgement on that. I was 50 yards away and I could see it, the linesman was right there

"It makes it tougher to take. It's a penalty, my view hasn't changed."

  6. 'We have to be realistic'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Chris Hughton: "When you have been behind twice you have to show character and we did. We were not at our best today. Stoke are a very manly team, we had to stand up to that.

"We have to be realistic. We are playing against better teams and better players and if you can't win games then don't lose them. We have won away in our last two games so there is a balance with drawing at home. We endeavour to entertain the fans and win as many games as we can."

  7. 'A point away is great'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Stoke City

    Ryan Shawcross

Stoke captain Ryan Shawcross on Sky Sports: "It was a bit end to end, maybe not what we wanted as the away ream. A point away from home is great for us."

  8. 'Brighton need to win those games'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Warren Aspinall

    Ex-Brighton striker on BBC Sussex

Entertaining game but not much quality. The unbeaten run extends which is the main thing. I think it's two points dropped. Brighton need to win these type of games.

  9. 'I suppose we have to be happy'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Stoke City

Stoke boss Mark Hughes to Sky Sports: "It's an away point and you have to be happy with that. Brighton didn't create much so we are disappointed with their goals.

"Overall we were in control of the game. I suppose we have to be happy with the result.

"We were always a threat at set-plays. We are resilient, that's two away games in a row without being beaten.

"We will play worse and get beat, clearly."

    Mark Hughes looks on
  10. 'It was probably a penalty'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Brighton & Hove Albion

So, was it a penalty when Ryan Shawcross challenged Glenn Murray in the Stoke area?

Shawcross on Sky Sports: "I think I clipped him. The referee didn't have the best angle. It probably was a penalty."

Murray: "It's one of those and hopefully it all evens itself out."

VAR for those decisions in the future?

Shawcross: "I think football is great the way it is."

Murray: "I would have liked it tonight."

  11. 'Stoke should be top half'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Jonathan Pearce

BBC Match of the Day commentator

Stoke should be top half. At times they lack mobility in areas, they are big and physical and they have Xherdan Shaqiri who is a wonderful player on his day. He is the ace up their sleeve.

What is the level of expectation?

  12. Post update

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

Stoke still haven’t enjoyed back-to-back away victories in the league since October 2015.

  13. 'Sometimes you have to take a point'

    Brighton 2-2 Stoke

    Steve Claridge

Ex-Leicester striker, BBC Radio 5 live

In the end it's a fair result. Both managers will feel that it's not ideal but they'll be pleased with the relative performances of their sides.

Sometimes you have to be clever and take a point rather than throw it all away. Brighton are growing in experience in the Premier League.

The points are shared. Brighton should have had a penalty in the first half but a draw feels about right.

Brighton have gone four games without defeat (W2 D2) in the Premier League – they last went five in a row without losing in the top-flight back in April 1983.
