  1. Goodbye

The heavens have opened above Krakow but Germany's players are singing in the rain. While the celebrations are in full swing as Germany's success at tournaments continues, it is time for us to say goodbye.

Many thanks for your company. Until next time...

  2. Hat-trick?

    FT: Germany 1-0 Spain

So, Germany are world champions, European Under-21 champions and, on Sunday, could win the Confederations Cup in Russia.

Not a bad hat-trick if that happens.

  3. Germany win Euro 2017

    FT: Germany 1-0 Spain

Stefan Kuntz runs on the pitch to celebrate with his players. Germany are deserved winners. Meanwhile, tears from Spain's players.

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Another cross is pumped into Germany's penalty area but Julian Pollersbeck - hero of the penalty shootout semi-final win over England - stretches out his huge hands to gather.

    Four minutes of additional time.

  7. Post update

    Germany 1-0 Spain

The ball drops nicely for Saul Niguez just outside the area but his attempt cannons off a white shirt. Germany's defending has been excellent.

  8. Post update

    Germany 1-0 Spain

A huge punt forward for Inaki Williams. The Spain forward is quick...but not that quick. It comes to nothing.

    Germany 1-0 Spain

It's approaching boom or bust time for Spain.

The changes are coming thick and fast. Germany replace Gnabry - who has had enough chances to take home the match ball - with Nadiem Amiri while Dominik Kohr has come on for Janik Haberer.

Spain have thrown on striker Borja Mayoral, who spent part of 2016-17 in Germany at Wolfsburg, in place of Marcos Llorente.

    Dani Ceballos
  10. Post update

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Spain have made another change - Sandro Ramirez makes way for the pace Inaki Williams.

The new addition almost makes an instant impact after whipping a cross into the mix which Germany just about scramble clear.

Ten minutes left for Spain to find an equaliser.

  11. CLOSE!

    Germany 1-0 Spain

    Odds on a dramatic twist?

A rare Spain chance almost leads to an equaliser as Dani Ceballos' wonderful first-time shot from distance flies a few inches wide.

Moments later Gerard Deulofeu goes even closer - his goal-bound attempt taking a deflection off a German boot for a corner.

    Germany 1-0 Spain

A scorching attack by Germany almost results in a second goal. A lovely measured pass by Yannick Gerhardt tees up Serge Gnabry but he rushes his shot inside the area and it's a wasted opportunity.

  13. Post update

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Germany are 20 minutes from being crowned European Under-21 champions for a second time. They've had twice as many shots as Spain - 14-7.

  14. PENALTY APPEAL

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Comical defending by Spain as they give the ball away cheaply deep inside their own area before Mitchell Weiser tumbles to the ground while surrounded by red shirts. No penalty says the referee.

  15. GREAT SAVE!

    Germany 1-0 Spain

    It's end to end stuff.

Serge Gnabry is away from his marker and galloping into the box but Kepa Arrizabalaga keeps his nerve to block with his outstretched leg.

    A huge moment.

Had that gone in it would surely have been game over. Spain are still alive.

  16. GREAT SAVE!

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Spain are not out of this. Far from it.

Moments after Marco Asensio has a decent effort blocked, Saul Niguez wallops the ball from outside the area towards the corner of the net before Julian Pollersbeck stretches his huge frame to deflect it away.

  17. SUBSTITUTION

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Referee Benoit Bastien will be demanding overtime pay if this continues.

Marcos Llorente urges the official to show a yellow card to an opponent for a foul on his Spanish team-mate. Instead Llorente ends up in the book. Silly.

Meanwhile, Spain have made their first change. Jose Gaya is on for Jonny in a like-for-like change at left-back.

  18. YELLOW CARD

    Germany 1-0 Spain

    What's happened to Germany's discipline?

Three yellow cards already this half as Janik Haberer and Niklas Stark join Max Arnold in the book.

  19. Post update

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Hector Bellerin is looking to push forward but he is surrounded by white shirts as he attempts to venture out of his own half. The Arsenal defender is forced to pass all the way back to his keeper.

    The frustration continues for Spain.

  20. YELLOW CARD

    Germany 1-0 Spain

Scrappy start to the half as Germany skipper Max Arnold is booked by the French referee for a cynical challenge which leaves Sandro Ramirez wincing.
