  3. 'Hull deserve their lead'

    Hull City 2-0 Watford

    Dean Saunders

Ex-Liverpool and Wales striker on Final Score

This afternoon has been a rollercoaster ride! Hull City, the spirit and determination that team has shown to get a result is superb. Hull deserve their lead, fair and square.

When I sold Sam Clucas to Hull and got a million pounds for Chesterfield, I told him he was never allowed to score against Swansea. His goal today might have sent the Swans down!

    Sam Clucas

    Hull 2-0 Watford

Another change from Hull as they bid to see this out.

Off goes Grosicki and on comes club captain Michael Dawson.

Five at the back now for the Tigers.

    Hull 2-0 Watford

Hull take off goalscorer Markovic to warm applause. Tom Huddlestone comes on.

    Hull 2-0 Watford

Andrew Robertson is the latest Hull name in the referee's book for kicking the ball away.

  7. Post update

    Hull 2-0 Watford

Hull just need to see this out now. So far they are doing just that but Watford still pose a threat coming forward, especially against 10 men.

  8. GOAL

    Hull 2-0 Watford

    Clucas strike

Wow - Sam Clucas, take a bow.

A brilliant goal by the Hull midfielder, who picks up the ball 30 yards from goal after Watford clear a corner, controls and fires an unerring shot into the top corner.

A quite wonderful strike and 10-man Hull lead 2-0. Amazing scenes.

Watford's Prodl is booked for a pull back on Markovic.

    Free-kick to Hull.

    Hull City 1-0 Watford

Lazar Markovic goes into the book for deliberate handball.

  13. 'All credit to the Hull players'

    Hull City 1-0 Watford

    Leon Osman

    Ex-Everton midfielder on Final Score

What a great header that was from Lazar Markovic. You can see how much that means to Hull as a team, with some players sinking to their knees and the manager going absolutely crazy.

Circumstances can dictate how you play, and today Hull have sat deep and defended well. But it's been impressive, and all credit to the players and Marco Silva.

  14. Post update

    Hull City 1-0 Watford

The Goal Decison System has just ruled that Markovic's initial header did not cross the line, so it was vital that he followed in to slam home.

Big moment in a big game.

Hull are back out the bottom three as it stands.

  15. GOAL

    Hull City 1-0 Watford

Amazing stuff - the 10 men of Hull lead and it's Lazar Makovic who gets it!

Moments after Jakupovic made a key save from Capoue, Hull break quickly downfield. Grosicki crosses from the right and fellow winger Markovic is the man in the middle to head a chance towards goal, which bounces down on the line before the on-loan Liverpool man made sure from a yard.

What a result this would be for the Tigers. Can they hold on?

  16. GOAL for Hull City

    Lazar Markovic

    Hull City 0-0 Watford

Dismal defending from Hull. A long throw is allowed to bounce not once but twice inside the area. The ball falls for Etienne Capoue to shoot from five yards but Jakupovic sticks out a boot to save.

  18. Post update

    Hull City 0-0 Watford

Better from Hull. They win their first corner after a good run by Grosicki.

However, in keeping with a frustrating day for the hosts so far, the corner kick is too close to the Watford goalkeeper who collects with ease.

  19. Post update

    Hull City 0-0 Watford

So what do you do if you're Marco Silva? Does he shut up shop, play for a point and live to fight another day, or does he throw caution to the wind?

Three points will ensure the Tigers end the weekend outside the drop zone. As it stands, one goal will do just that. The temptation to go for it is certainly obvious, despite their numerical disadvantage.

  20. Post update

    Hull City 0-0 Watford

For all Hull have every right to be aggrieved about the red card, the fact is when they have had they ball they have been guilty of squandering possession.

The same cannot be said of Watford, who have passed the ball around well and carved Hull open at will. Another such moves ends with a low cross into the Hull area but Maguire clears.
