  1. Thanks and good night

That is it from us for today. Be sure to join us again tomorrow from 11:00 BST.

    See you then.

  2. 'We were not sufficient'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Southampton

Southampton manager Claude Puel on Match of the Day: "In the second half they scored two goals on the counter-attack, but I thought we could have done better today. We simply did not play well enough against this team, nervous with the ball.

"It's a disappointment because we can do better, we can create better opportunities. We did not have enough today, we were not sufficient. It was not a good day for us, but congratulations to Manchester City.

"Today, we have them too many opportunities. Against good teams we have to show our best qualities, to defend well and show better organisation."

  3. 'We have players who can deliver'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Manchester City

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola speaking to Match of the Day: "Congratulations to the team, especially the way we played. We were able finally to make 15, 20, 25 passes in a row. Up front we could be better but our quality of play meant we had control. This result is so important for our qualification for the Champions League.

"Every manager Vincent Kompany has played under knows what an important player he is. Finally, in recent games he has played he has delivered performances and hopefully he can stay fit. I want him fit enough to play every week - he has suffered for a long periods but he is a real, real central defender.

"In the first half we controlled the game but Southampton were good out wide. But after we scored they had to press us and so we were able to find our passes between the lines much easier. And with players like Kompany and Silva we have players who can deliver on the counter-attack."

  4. 'I keep positive and keep going'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Manchester City

More from Vincent Kompany, speaking to Match of the Day: "I scored in front of the away fans and for me it was a great feeling. I feel like I want to give so much but I am restrained at times, but I keep positive and keep going no matter what.

"I want to remember these positive experiences - playing football like this is not something many people experience. It's worth every minute of hard work."

  5. 'Ups and downs'

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

    Manchester City

More from Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany: "It's ups and downs in football, but ultimately what gets you up is you keep looking towards your objective. If I had to work 15 years to have just one moment like this I would do.

"I am happy today but I will stay calm and prepare well for the next game.

"We knew this game was massive for us and there was so much pressure, so to come here and have such a performance, everyone in the team deserves top marks. It's always a process of improving, getting better.

"Next up is the FA Cup - I love the Cup and love a derby!"

Andy Knowles: Really good win and important 3 points. Great to see Vinny back. Such a huge player for us when fit.

  7. 'I put in the hard work and it pays off'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Manchester City

Manchester City captain and goalscorer Vincent Kompany in the tunnel: "I am happy with the goal, it's helped my team, but also happy with the clean sheet. This is an hard place to come and to get the result, we will all be happy.

"For me, it's always a long journey back [after injury]. I would have liked to have been injured less in my career, but when it happens I put in the hard work and it pays off. I am finally giving something back to the team."

  8. 'You could see the unlimited joy on his face'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Fred Eyre

Former Man City player on BBC Radio Manchester

A very, very professional away performance from Manchester City. They had to be very patient, trying to break down a disciplined and rigid Southampton set-up. They didn't manage to do that in the first 45 minutes and when they did it was from Vincent Kompany.

You could see the unlimited joy on his face as he celebrated in front of the travelling faithful.

  9. Post update

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

After a pretty flat first half, City really turned it on in the second to bag three unanswered goals. We knew they were good in attack, which they underlined with some ruthless moves, but what will please Pep Guardiola is they looked solid and organised at the back.

Amazing the difference a Vincent Kompany can make.

  10. FULL-TIME

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

A comfortable win in the end for City, who get a big three points in their hunt for a top-four finish.

  11. Post update

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

City find joy down the right again through De Bruyne, who eludes any marking to collect before sending in a low ball that is cut out.

  12. Post update

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

Four added minutes. Won't make any difference to the result.

  13. Post update

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

St Mary's has emptied out very quickly since that third goal. Better to beat the traffic than endure the last few minutes. Saints have been well beaten today.

  14. 'World-class footballers'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Fred Eyre

Former Man City player on BBC Radio Manchester

Southampton will be unable to work out why they're losing 3-0. Here's the answer: very few sides have an answer to world-class footballers like City's.

  15. SUBSTITUTION

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

City's final change sees another of their scorers, Sergio Aguero, replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho.

  16. SUBSTITUTION

    Southampton 0-3 Man City

City withdraw another star performer. Leroy Sane's work is done. On comes Raheem Sterling.

  17. 'Wonderful footballers'

    Southampton 0-3 Manchester City

    Fred Eyre

Former Man City player on BBC Radio Manchester

Two goals in two minutes, and two brilliant goals in two minutes. It was Kevin De Bruyne again, digging the ball out from under his feet to meet Sergio Aguero's head. This is what wonderful footballers can deliver.
