  2. 'Best Sergio ever'

    Man City 5-1 Huddersfield

    Manchester City

Man City boss Pep Guardiola on BBC Sport: "Even in the moment (when we conceded) we were playing quite good, we made good things against a good team.

"We are happy because we're in the quarter finals. I was impressed with Huddersfield in both halves - they have good quality players. We missed a lot of the last passes. But OK - we knew how tough it could be and we play in a good performance.

"It's the best Sergio Aguero ever. Today the performance was amazing. The runs were at the right moment and the right tempo. His performance was top - the same with Claudio (Bravo), his performance with the foot helped us build up."

  3. It's all about the finish

    #PeoplesCup

Victory for Manchester City books a trip to Middlesbrough and a 10th quarter-final of the Sheikh Mansour era, which began nine years ago.

It is a measure of the progress City have made since the takeover that in the preceding 117 years, their quarter-final tally was 36.

City last won the FA Cup in 2011. They lost to Wigan in the final two years later.

  7. Post update

    Man City 5-1 Huddersfield

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, speaking to BBC Sport: "They went 1-0 up and we were disappointed to concede early. They played well and were at us. But credit to the boys, we dug in and showed spirit.

"We want to compete in as many trophies as we can and the FA Cup is something we want to go all the way in. We just need to keep going game by game and challenge in every one."

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero:  "I am very happy for the result and the two goal but especially for getting through to the next round.

"I always try to do my best and do what the manager wants me to do. I want to make my manager happy with my performances."

  8. Post update

    Man City 5-1 Huddersfield

    Alan Shearer

    Ex-England striker on BBC One

Impressive by Manchester City, particularly going forward. Some of their forward play was superb. They could have scored a few more.

  9. FULL-TIME

    Man City 5-1 Huddersfield

The goal is the final act of an impressive display from Man City, who have come from behind to seal a handsome win.

The gulf was big, but Town leave with a lot of credit. They competed with what is essentially a second-string side. A number of their young side have bigger reputations now than before kick-off.

  10. Post update

    Man City 5-1 Huddersfield

That added time is enough for City. It's five! Kelechi Iheanacho doesn't get a lot of game time but boy does he score goals. Jesus Navas' low cross is tapped home by the striker. Replays show he is offside but the flag stays down and, in truth, it makes little difference to the result.

  12. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Just the one minute of added time.

  13. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

A golden chance for that Town consolation falls to Collin Quaner after City fail to fully head clear a ball in to the box. The striker is 10 yards out with the goal at his mercy but slices the ball horribly over the bar.

  14. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Town go looking for a late consolation but John Stones stands tall to block Jack Payne's shot from 20 yards.

  15. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Raheem Sterling finds Kelechi Iheanacho in the box before latching on to a return pass to fire an angled shot that Coleman blocks. Flag was up anyway.

Martin Cranie is down and getting some treatment for cramp. That is what trying to cope with Sane, Sterling et al after not playing much of late will do to you.

  16. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Jesus Navas' first touch is to whip in a dangerous cross that Kelechi Iheanacho is unable to muscle past his marker to reach.

  17. Watch: Sergio Aguero scores his second goal

Sergio Aguero scores his second goal of the night with this beauty, I highly recommend you watch it below if you have not already.

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Another of the City goalscorers departs as Leroy Sane is replaced by Jesus Navas.

  19. Post update

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

Town attacks are rare now but when they do threaten it is all through Rajiv van La Parra. His jinking run ends with a ball into the box that just skips away from Jack Payne and allows Bravo to claim.

  20. Ageuro's back

    Man City 4-1 Huddersfield

    Simon Stone

BBC Sport at the Etihad Stadium

Eleven days ago, Sergio Aguero looked well off the pace as he laboured in the first game against Huddersfield.

Now he has four goals in two games and every defence will be fearful of facing him.

Sunderland are next up on Sunday. David Moyes was here tonight. Hope he sleeps well.
