  1. Goodnight

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

    Pontus Jansson

So, Leeds United march on to third in the Championship table, Chris Wood gets his 20th of the season and there's a goal-of-the-millennium contender from Mr Souleymane Doukara.

As for Forest, plenty of food for thought for Gary Brazil and his players. Off the field of course, there's even more to contend with given Fawaz Al Hasawi's confirmation that he will not be selling the club in the near future. This will run and run.

This weekend's all about the FA Cup fourth round on BBC Sport, and you can find action, live texts and more across the website starting with Friday's all-East Midlands tie between Derby and Leicester (sorry Forest fans).

    Until then, goodnight.

  2. ...and the voice of doom...

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Dom Dunne: All these Leeds fans think they're going up. Not gonna catch the top two, then the play-offs is as good as a lottery. 25% chance.

He's got a point. It might be tough to break that Brighton-Newcastle axis. Leeds are within seven points of the second-placed Magpies.

  3. Some happy Leeds fans using #bbcefl...

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Gaza G: Cheering on the Mighty Whites in Los Angeles......#MOT Frost on my car this morning .......

Dave Player: Listening in and marching on from Dallas, Texas.

    Peter Wakenshaw: Great win tonight.

    FT: Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

    Brian Laws

Ex-Forest defender on BBC Radio Nottingham

Leeds just stepped up to a gear Forest couldn't match. There was a contrast to Saturday's win against a struggling side where organisation was enough to win them the game.

Against Leeds, that wasn't enough. It was one-way traffic in the second half. It mirrors the position they are in the league. Against a very good Leeds side, they are wanting for star quality and cutting edge.

This is where Forest are at the moment. Against good sides, Forest are going to struggle.

Against bottom sides, the hard work and honesty will drive them through to get a result.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

    Souleymane Doukara

Leeds roar into third place thanks to second-half goals by Chris Wood and Souleymane Doukara, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Elland Road.

It was a convincing display in the second 45, Leeds showed class and quality, Wood netting his 20th goal of the season after Forest failed to clear a set-piece, and then Doukara cracked in a belter from the edge of the box.

Positives for Forest from the first period, but the intent after the break was too much to handle.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

If you were reading this as a Forest fan you might be a little concerned at the lack of drive in this second half. It's tidy enough from the visitors but no real gung-ho, bomb forward late flurry.

Luke Ayling gets a booking for Leeds, the first of the game. Well disciplined, gents.

  8. Post update

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Still Leeds come forward but Forest are picking up scraps of possession. Nothing cutting to note really though.

Home side happy to play out time.

  9. Post update

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Forest get a free-kick that Ben Osborn sweeps in but Leeds break on the back of it and Chris Wood almost senses a second before he's offside.

Leeds fans in full voice, team in full flight. Points heading to West Yorkshire.

Brian Murgatroyd: Following action at Sydney Airport en route to Auckland. Flight's handily delayed so I'll know the result. Come on Leeds!

Jeff Murray: At what point in the season can all of us Leeds fans believe we can go up? Hopefully last week was our blip.

Dean Plumley: If you think Ronaldo Vieira is a good name, check out his brother!

Ronaldo's brother, Romario, is also on Leeds' books. All he needs now is another sibling called Bebeto.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Bit of Karate Kid-style training seems to have gone into Chris Wood's goal earlier. Smart finish.

Not even Mr Miyagi would have given him that much space to play in though.

    Nine minutes to play.

    Chris Wood scores for Leeds

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Chris Wood skies a lovely chance for three and Leeds are running riot.

Pablo Hernandez gets some applause as he departs for a third and final change for the home side, Alex Mowatt is coming on.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Ronaldo Vieira comes on. Eunan O'Kane is on. What parent does that to a kid?! You've already got a superstar surname, don't lumber him with even more pressure!

Just seen that goal again. That strike was cleaner than Massimo Cellino's brogues.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

Ben Brereton comes on for Forest, a youngster with pedigree from the academy set-up.

Britt Assombalonga makes his way to the bench.

    Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

    Brian Laws

Ex-Forest defender on BBC Radio Nottingham

That's got to be a contender for goal of the season. What a hit, right into the top corner. He'll never hit a sweeter one than that.

  16. GOAL - Leeds 2-0 Nott'm Forest

    Souleymane Doukara

    Souleymane Doukara

WHAM! Talk about making an impact. Thunderous strike by the substitute Souleymane Doukara, cracking the ball in from the edge of the D into the top corner of the net.

In the Tony Yeboah mould, you might say. Game over, you might also say.

    Leeds 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Souleymane Doukara replaces Stuart Dallas, who has earned his spurs tonight........ YEEEHA! Just leaving that out there.

    Anyway, straight swap it seems.

  18. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Nott'm Forest

It really cannot be stressed enough what a good job Garry Monk has done at Leeds. He's getting so much out of the squad, his recruitment has been superb. They'll rise to third as it stands.

Forest's predicament is summed up slightly by a wayward effort from Britt Assombalonga. Not much 'Do, do, do'-ing from the Reds support tonight.

    Leeds 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Nicklas Bendtner is coming on for Nottingham Forest, Lord Bendtner or whatever his self-appointed title may be.

    Jamie Ward makes way.

  20. Post update

    Leeds 1-0 Nott'm Forest

Big test of character for Forest now. Leeds haven't lost at home in the league since November, when fellow high-fliers Newcastle won at Elland Road.

Leeds seem to have the game in their grasp, not just on the scoreboard.
