  6. Armstrong 'can play for Scotland'

    Jonathan Sutherland

    BBC Sport Scotland

Brendan Rodgers believes that Stuart Armstrong is on course for the Scotland squad if the midfielder can continue his rich vein of form.

"He's got the physical qualities for that," the Celtic manager said of the uncapped 24-year-old who scored in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Ross County.

"It's about understanding the game tactically.

"He's a bright boy, he takes on information well and I think, if he keeps going, keeps improving and he keeps showing the level, I think there's no question he could feature for the national team."

  9. Dons confident for Celtic visit

Despite highlighting Celtic's improving form, Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes insists that his side's midweek defeat by Hamilton Academical has not dented their belief that they can beat the champions on Saturday.

"Celtic have got good players, they've got good form, I think they're playing with good confidence, there's a better feeling about Celtic at the minute, with togetherness even with their support - they believe in their manager and they believe in their team," he said.

"So, with all that added, it adds a bit more weight to their strength, but I think we've got that going here with our club and our support and we've got good players here who should take confidence from their form, take confidence from beating Rangers here and take confidence from beating Celtic twice last year.

"We feel a bit of pride that we've managed to put some sort of fight with them the last couple of years."
