  1. Post update

England's autumnal jaunt to Spain is heading towards a conclusion. Maybe they will get the chance for some tapas and warm night-time air before checking in at the airport.

Next stop on their pre-Euro 2017 journey? Rotterdam. For the tournament draw on 8 November.

But, more immediately, we're about to tuck into some EFL Cup action. Join my colleague Tom Rostance here.

    Spain 1-2 England

A job well done by England. After Friday's 0-0 draw against France, they have returned to winning ways against fellow Euro 2017 hosts Spain.

All the goals came in a first-half flurry, Karen Carney's deflected cross and Steph Houghton's free-kick putting England 2-0 ahead before Spain halved the deficit.

    Spain 1-2 England

Time for one last chance? There is. And it falls to Spain.

Lionesses keeper Karen Bardsley has enjoyed a relatively quiet night, but is jolted into life to block Vilas's header. Phew!

  5. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

All eyes are on the fourth official, who enters centre stage. Two? Three? No, FOUR minutes stoppage time.

  6. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

Spain should be throwing the kitchen sink at this one, but they've barely lobbed a tea spoon. England looking comfortable.

  7. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

Heading towards the final few minutes. Are England going to see this one out? Toni Duggan has a shot blocked.

    Spain 1-2 England

Almost game, set and match! Jordan Nobbs thumps against the Spanish stanchion from 30 yards.

    Spain 1-2 England

Another change for England as they look to see out a win. Arsenal midfielder Fara Williams - the Lionesses' record cap holder - replaces Chelsea forward Karen Carney. Is that a sign that Mark Sampson is shutting up shop?

    Spain 1-2 England

Uh oh! England almost leave the back door open. An error allows the home attack to find space as Latorre looks for team-mate Vilas. But captain Steph Houghton nips in to avert the danger.

  12. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

England are prowling around like hungry lionesses, but not able to finish off their prey. Isobel Christiansen and Rachel Daly combine down the flank, the latter clipping in a cross that flies inches over Karen Carney's head.

Twenty minutes left for England to kill this one off. Or for Spain to equalise...

  13. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

Time for another change. This time it is Mark Sampson scrawling out the substitution sheet. Twice, in fact.

Nikita Parris's evening is now over, as is Jill Scott's, with Toni Duggan and Isobel Christiansen coming on. It's like watching a Manchester City match! (All four players are Blues in case you didn't know.)

    Spain 1-2 England

Enjoying the game? Good. We could be doing this all again next summer.

Both teams have qualified for the Euro 2017 finals, with the possibility of being drawn together in the same group.

England are in pot one, while Spain are in pot two.

The draw for the finals takes place in Rotterdam's Luxor Theatre on 8 November.

    Spain 1-2 England

Sigh of relief by Nikita Parris after a worried look over to the electronic board. Her number isn't up. But Gemma Davison's is. The Chelsea player strolls off, shaking hands with the incoming Rachel Daly.

  16. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

Getting closer! Nikita Parris has another crack at the Spain goal, heading straight at the keeper. But is that her last chance? Rachel Daly - who Parris replaced in the starting line-up today - is ramped up the stretches. Think she's coming on.

  17. Post update

    Spain 1-2 England

England striker Nikita Parris has been a busy bee. But that industry is yet to hit the goal jackpot. She dashes towards the Spain danger-zone, but is unceremoniously stopped by half-time substitute Barbara Latorre.

  18. KICK-OFF

    Spain 1-2 England

Spain's turn to get us rock'n'rolling. Three more goals this half would be ideal.

    Spain 1-2 England

The England players are keen. They're back out of the changing rooms quick sharp. Spain are a few paces behind them. A couple of changes for the home side - Latorre and Panos come on for Torrecilla and Gallardo.

Here's a video of the goal that gives England the half-time lead. And it's a beauty!
