  1. Goodbye

    FT: Wolves 1-2 Norwich

    Huddersfield

Well that's it for the weekend's EFL action, as Huddersfield and Norwich maintain the top two places in the Championship.

But it's more misery for Aston Villa fans, who lost 2-0 away at Preston, leaving them without a victory on the road for 420 days.

Thanks very much for following us.

    From us, it's goodnight!

  2. Post update

    FT: Wolves 1-2 Norwich

After Wednesday's last-gasp defeat Norwich could have been forgiven for jitters at the end of that game.

However they held out Wolves, who upped their game as time ticked down, and secured the three points.

Back to winning ways for Alex Neil's side, but encouraging signs for Walter Zenga towards the end. They stay mid table.

  3. FULL-TIME

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

    Norwich

Respectful handshakes from both coaches mark the end of a very slowburner, that didn't truly catch until Robbie Brady put Norwich 2-0 up.

Dave Edwards' header gave the game a desperation and passion it had been sorely lacking at the death, and the return of Nouha Dicko was another bright note.

    The rest was eminently forgettable.

Norwich take the points, and stay second behind Huddersfield in the table.

  4. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Norwich have tried a high line that Wolves have nipped in behind a couple of times now.

Michael McGovern goes down under a challenge from Danny Batth who chased that through-ball.

They'll now make a sub just to tick down some more time - Cameron Jerome makes way for Ryan Bennett.

  5. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

    Zenga

Norwich are two visible banks of four sat in front of the swarm of Wolves players. It's a tough wall to break down.

Joe Mason got in behind a moment ago, but his cross came to nothing.

Two minutes of injury-time remaining. Romain Saiss is down but the clock is ticking for Wolves.

  6. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Into the five added minutes here... desperate stuff for Wolves.

Carl Ikeme launches a long ball forward...

  7. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Wolves midfielder Conor Coady skids a low shot into the diving body of Michael McGovern from 25 yards.

Might be last chance... or not?

  8. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

    Norwich

Depending on your perspective, Norwich's attempts to smuggle the ball into the corners and run down the clock are either a stroke of genius or deeply cynical.

Personally? I don't like it. I'm of the Danny Blanchflower school of sportsmanship.

  9. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Inside the final two minutes. Norwich have the ball up in the Wolves final third.

    Free-kick to the visitors...

  10. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Not sure newboy Oliveira was up to the pace of the game there because he coughed up the ball on the edge of the box.

Wolves have it and are pouring forward looking for an equaliser. Less than five to go...

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Norwich have sent on Nelson Oliveira for Wes Hoolahan, which is by no means a 'let's sit back and defend' kind of move.

Wouldn't mind a bit of gung-ho, all-guns blazing, end-to-end action to see out the last six minutes!

  12. 'We were worth the win'

    FT: Preston 2-0 Aston Villa

    Hugill

Preston secured victory over Aston Villa for their third consecutive win at Deepdale, thanks to goals from Ben Pearson and Jordan Hugill.

"Money brings you good players which is what Aston Villa have got," said Preston boss Simon Grayson.

"We have players who want to make careers in the game. They worked, pressed and made it very uncomfortable for Aston Villa.

"If that penalty had gone in at the end it would have been an unfair reflection of how the game went, we were worth a two-goal lead."

  13. Post update

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

That - not to sound too much like Alan Partridge - has put the cat amongst the pigeons!

It was a proper captain's header that one. The sort you'd see in a Roy of the Rovers comic strip.

Norwich have eight minutes plus stoppages to see this one out.

  14. GOAL (Dave Edwards)

    Wolves 1-2 Norwich

Soaring header by Dave Edwards to pull Wolves right back into the game.

Matt Doherty just lifted a cross teasingly into his path, and the talisman leapt highest to nod the ball beyond Norwich keeper Michael McGovern.

    GAME ON.

  15. YELLOW CARD

    Wolves 0-2 Norwich

Dave Edwards makes a challenge that brings up the yellow card.

Wolves need to retain their cool if they're to mount a fight-back.

  16. 'Bad day at the office'

    FT: Preston 2-0 Aston Villa

    Roberto di Matteo

Following defeat at Deepdale, in which Ross McCormack also missed a penalty, Aston Villa have won just four games in 47 games and they are currently two points above the relegation places.

"There's a team here that is good, it will come good for us," manager Roberto di Matteo said.

"We will keep working. I have faith in the team, I believe in the team and I think that come the end of the season they will be up there.

"It's been a bad day at the office for sure. We are 10 points from sixth place so it's still all possible.

"It's normal that when the results of the team aren't what you expect, the results will be questioned. That's part of our job."

  17. Post update

    Wolves 0-2 Norwich

Sorry Wolves fans, I take personal responsibility for that one.

The Gold and Black were really storming back into this game but Norwich, with a cultured swing of Robbie Brady's left foot, have possibly booted their hopes into oblivion.

Still time, just under 15 minutes to play.

  18. GOAL (Robbie Brady)

    Wolves 0-2 Norwich

    Robbie Brady

Robbie Brady couldn't have caught that one sweeter. Even Jody Craddock's paintbrush could not have managed such a sublime swipe.

The ball came out to him around 20 yards away and he curled it into the top corner beyond Carl Ikeme.

    That could be game over.

  19. Post update

    Wolves 0-1 Norwich

It might prove to be the curse that gives this game a second goal, but you get the feeling Wolves could play all day and still not score.

Inside the last 20 minutes now and they still trail, but their fans have their voice.

    Composure is key.

  20. Up the Seagulls

    FT: Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 Brighton

    Brighton

Brighton lost out to Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-final last season, but got their revenge today with a 2-1 victory at Hillsborough to move them up to third in the table before Norwich played Wolves.
