    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

That is that. Well done Boro.

Not the greatest 67th birthday for Arsene Wenger, but at least Strictly and X Factor might cheer him up later. Or not.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

    But it's offside.

Mesut Ozil thought he'd won it by deflecting in Theo Walcott's shot, but he was about two yards offside.

Jaleel Oladipo: Don't know much what he did in Spain but never really impressed at man city, so how Negredo continues to play professionally?

C M: It's games like this that always leave Arsenal behind in the title race, not enough bottle to find the winner!

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

Alvaro Negredo comes off and is replaced by Cristhian Stuani. Unsurprisingly, Negredo walks off...s.l.o.w.l.y.

Negredo just was not quick enough.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Five minutes of it. FIVE.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

    ...although it was Negredo tackled.

Adama Traore again bursts forward - I'd like to see him up against Usain Bolt - he plays in Alvaro Negredo in the area, who turns like the QEII (former big ship) and is tackled by Laurent Koscielny.

    Stoppage time entry coming up.

Ben Gibson has been a mountain at the back for Middlesbrough.

All of the Middlesbrough players have been workaholics

  9. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

Arsenal are building up for one last charge.

They test the Boro defence as Mesut Ozil surges down the left and crosses the ball for Theo Walcott whose header is easily dealt with.

Boro's Stewart Downing comes on for Gaston Ramirez.

When Arsenal get it wide, rather than go to the byline, they play it back inside and start the attack again.

They are probing rather than penetrating.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

Victor Valdes doesn't quite seem to be in tune with his defence today. The keeper runs out to head away a long Arsenal ball which perhaps Daniel Ayala was going to deal with.

The ball lands at the feet of Theo Walcott whose weak strike towards goal is grabbed by Valdes who scrambles back in time.

Arsenal make another change - Alex Oxlade Chamberlain is on for Mohamed Elneny, who's been average at best.

A less liberal referee might have given more than a yellow there.

It was a very cynical tackle. I think I would have given him a red.

I hate to use the word cheating but that was cheating.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Oh Alexis!

The Chilean who has had the best chances for Arsenal is played in by Theo Walcott but then fires a weak shot from 10 yards that Victor Valdes easily saves.

It looks like a 0-0er at the mo.

Arsenal bring on Lucas Perez for Alex Iwobi.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

About as nailed on a yellow as you'll see this season.

Shkodran Mustafi's pass goes to Boro's Gaston Ramirez who runs towards goal on the left but is then pretty much rugby tackled by the German.

    Six Nations it ain't Shkodran.

  15. GREAT RUN!

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

Adama Traore has been outstanding today for Boro.

On this occasion he outstrips Mohamed Elneny and Laurent Koscielny with his pace down the left before firing and angled shot that Petr Cech pushes wide.

He is Aitor Karanka's key weapon.

Eddie: Sanchez now buzzing for Arsenal in attack. Getting closer to that elusive 1st goal. Valdes so far standing firm..

Andrew Hook: Better already but clear as day that Arsenal don't need both Coquelin and Elneny. Bring on the ox

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

This time Victor Valdes does have to get his hand on Alexis Sanchez's strike.

The Cuban fires a cracking swerving effort from 25 yards that the ex-Barcelona keeper tips around the post for a corner.

    Great keeping.

    The corner comes to nothing.

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

Arsenal have another free-kick - this time on the left of the edge of the area.

Alexis Sanchez takes responsibility and strikes an effort that sails narrowly wide of Victor Valdes' right-hand upright.

They're going close but not close enough. Boro have had the best chances.

  19. Post update

    Arsenal 0-0 Sunderland

    David Pleat

Former Tottenham boss on 5 live Sport

I think Arsenal have to try get around the back of the Middlesbrough defence.

Maybe get a two on one with Sanchez pulling outwide.

  20. CLOSE!

    Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough

That's probably the closest Arsenal have gone in this match.

Mesut Ozil's free-kick from the right causes keeper Victor Valdes and his defenders to flap.

From the resulting flap, Alexis Sanchez dinks the ball into the six-yard area but it agonisingly drifts over the head of Laurent Koscielny.
