  1. Goodbye

Well after a lacklustre first half, things definitely opened up a bit after the break as QPR took control on a dismal afternoon for Cardiff City.

Despite losing midfielder Ben Gladwin to injury after 24 minutes, Queens Park Rangers kept pressing and were rewarded thanks to a dominant display in the final 20 minutes.

Steven Caulker's header gave Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side some breathing space but Tjarron Chery's late penalty wrapped up another win for the Rs and sent them top of the Championship.

Meanwhile Cardiff are yet to score in any of their opening three games of the season, a worrying statistic for Paul Trollope's side.

In the Premier League, Liverpool have just taken the lead against Arsenal thanks to Adam Lallana's strike. You can read our live text of that game here.

    Thank you for joining us.

  2. "A lot to do"

    FT: Cardiff 0-2 QPR

    Ian Walsh

Former Cardiff and Wales striker on BBC Radio Wales

“It was a very naive performance from Cardiff and was far from good enough. Paul Trollope’s got a lot to do.”

  3. 'Perfect away performance'

    FT: Cardiff 0-2 QPR

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales, Cardiff and QPR defender on BBC Radio London

The perfect away performance from QPR. Really solid defensively. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be absolutely delighted.

    Cardiff 0-2 QPR

And it's all over at the Cardiff City Stadium. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Queens Park Rangers have gone top of the Championship thanks to two second-half goals.

Cardiff failed to register a shot on target in the whole 90 minutes and rarely troubled the Rs.

    Cardiff 0-2 QPR

Sebastian Polter comes off, having won QPR that late penalty, and is replaced by James Perch.

Conor Washington, meanwhile, replaces goalscorer Tjarron Chery.

  6. Cardiff 0-2 QPR

There will be five minutes of added time. Five more minutes for QPR to wait before they go top of the Championship.

  7. Yellow card

    Cardiff 0-2 QPR

Karl Henry goes in the book. That's four (read: four) yellow cards QPR have received today.

  8. Cardiff 0-2 QPR

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales, Cardiff and QPR defender on BBC Radio London

Top corner! A lot of players wouldn't have attempted that. That's a man playing full of confidence!

You have to say that's game over now.

    Cardiff 0-2 QPR (Chery)

Tjarron Chery puts the Rs out of sight as he smashes the ball home from the penalty spot.

QPR will be travelling back up the M4 with three points.

    Tjarron Chery

    Cardiff 0-1 QPR

Sebastian Polter is brought down by Bruno Manga. The visitors have the chance to put this game to bed, here.

  11. Cardiff 0-1 QPR

Credit to Cardiff, they haven't sat back after going a goal down late on. Substitute Craig Noone plays in to Anthony Pilkington who turns and shoots but it's blocked and it's judged to be a goal kick.

Time is running out if they are to find an equaliser, here.

  12. Cardiff 0-1 QPR

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales, Cardiff and QPR defender on BBC Radio London

It's a fantastic, looping header from a fantastic delivery. A super header. He still had a lot to do.

Caulker has been really solid. His performance has been excellent as well.

He fails to celebrate, being an ex-Cardiff man.

  13. GOAL QPR

    Cardiff 0-1 QPR (Caulker)

Here's your narrative. Steven Caulker's had a great afternoon and it's no surprise he's the man to take the lead for the Rs against his former club.

He heads home Jake Bidwell's cross with just over 10 minutes left to play.

Has that gifted them all three points?

  14. Cardiff 0-0 QPR

    Danny Gabbidon

Former Wales, Cardiff and QPR defender on BBC Radio London

Both front men had really been feeding off scraps.

There really hasn't been enough quality, from both teams.

  15. Substitution (Cardiff)

    Cardiff 0-0 QPR

A double substitution for the hosts as new signing Emyr Huws comes on to make his debut along with Kenneth Zahore as the pair replace Frederic Gounongbe and Lex Immers.

  16. Cardiff 0-0 QPR

Another opportunity for the visitors as Steven Caulker has his second bite of the cherry in just two minutes but this time he fires the ball into the side netting.

QPR are turning the screw, now.

  17. Cardiff 0-0 QPR

    Yeni Ngbakoto

Yeni Ngbakoto wins a free-kick for QPR on the left wing and launches the ball into the box but former Cardiff player Steven Caulker heads wide of the mark.

  18. Cardiff 0-0 QPR

Frederic Gounongbe is trying to create chances for Cardiff and almost finds the net all of his own accord but his dangerous effort is blocked.

  19. Yellow card

    Cardiff 0-0 QPR

Massimo Luongo goes into the book for a foul on Peter Whittingham. That's Queens Park Rangers' third booking of the afternoon.

  20. Cardiff 0-0 QPR

At the other end, Cardiff almost get off the mark as Anthony Pilkington rises high to to nod Declan John's cross just over the bar.

Paul Trollope will be happy with his side's response. Still goalless, but for how much longer?
