Thanks for all your tweets tonight.

  3. Burton reaction

    FT: Burton 1-0 Derby

Burton wing back Lucas Akins told Sky Sports: "Obviously it is fantastic and it's a local derby where we're no longer just playing them in pre-season friendlies.

"It shows a lot of character from the lads as we had a disappointing result in midweek and we bounced back.

"We've got a lot in that dressing room, so hopefully we can to keep surprising people."

  4. Burton reaction

    FT: Burton 1-0 Derby

Burton goalscorer Jackson Irving told Sky Sports: "We had numerous chances in the opening 15-20 minutes and we're really pleased to start that way.

"It's hard to miss when I'm getting deliveries like that. The manager has asked me to get more goals in open play and I'm glad I am."

  6. FULL-TIME

    Burton 1-0 Derby

    Burton clebrate

Things just keep getting better and better for Burton.

This another night to add to their most memorable, as Burton beat Derby County in their first competitive meeting.

Jackson Irvine's headed goal enough on the night.

They deserved the win and they look well set to give the Championship a right go this season.

  7. SUBSTITUTION

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Matty Palmer's night is done. Shaun Barker is on.

Barker has not played a competitive game for four years, when he was at Derby. What an incredible comeback.

Both fans give him a huge round of applause.

  8. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

No real desire to get forward with the ball now for Burton, who are imply happy to find a yellow shirt.

The noise levels go up a notch again as the Brewers fans are ready to celebrate arguably their greatest ever result in the league.

  9. INJURY TIME

    Burton 1-0 Derby

We're going to have another three minutes at the Pirelli Stadium.

Can Burton hold on, can Derby grab a leveller?

  10. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

    Nigel Pearson

One Nigel looks as if he will be going home happy, one not.

Chris O'Grady's cross from the right is so close to finding Marcus Harness in the middle to seal the game.

  11. SUBSTITUTION

    Burton 1-0 Derby

    Derby's Will Hughes

Will Hughes drills one just over the bar from around 25 yards out, one of the sweetest strikes of the night.

Burton replace Tom Naylor with Liam Williamson.

  12. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Derby with all the possession in the closing stages, with Burton looking to break whenever they get hold of the ball.

They throw numbers forward looking for a second goal, but Tom Naylor is muscled off the ball inside the Rams area.

  13. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

It shows how much this game means to those in Burton-upon-Trent that more turned out tonight than to watch Liverpool.

Marcus Harness' cross comes to nothing for the hosts.

  14. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Marcus Olsson does really well overlapping from left-back, but his cross is overhit.

Johnny Russell attempts to keep the ball in with his weaker right foot but it flies out of the stadium.

  15. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Johnny Russell sees half an opening on the edge of the area, but just as he is about the pull the trigger Kyle McFadzean throws his body in the way to stop it progressing.

We might have struggled for chances in this game, but here's a lovely sunset from earlier over the Pirellli Stadium...

    Pirelli Stadium

    So enjoy that.

  16. YELLOW CARD

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Craig Bryson is the first player booked in the game for a late challenge.

As the referee is booking him, the Derby midfielder berates Richard Keogh for his poor pass that caused him to make that challenge.

  17. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Cries of 'Nigel Clough, my Lord, Nigel Clough...' ring around the Burton fans supporting their manager.

This is the first time the Brewers boss has faced the Rams since he was sacked by them in 2013 and he is heading for three points.

  18. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Remember, Derby boss Nigel Pearson has already made his three substitutions so there would need to be a tactical shape change to possibly change the game.

Burton meanwhile still have a couple of substitutes left.

Chris O'Grady wins a free-kick high up the pitch for the Brewers.

  19. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Derby boss Nigel Pearson (left) and Burton manager Nigel Clough

I would like to tell you about the chances being created and the joyous football on show, I really would. But I cannot. Because this has been a hard watch over the past few minutes.

Instead, I'll tell you it is an intriguing tactical battle from the managers.

  20. Post update

    Burton 1-0 Derby

Another sight of goal from Abdoul Camara. Again he checks onto his left foot, but he is more central than right this time when he strikes the ball, but his effort is only curled into the midriff of Jon McLaughlin.
