  1. See you soon

And so we tick another Saturday closer to the proper football season.

For 72 teams it's all starting next week. Premier League fans you've got a fortnight.

    We can't wait...

  2. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-2 Chelsea

What conclusions can you draw from that game? Almost certainly none at all.

  3. FULL-TIME

    Real Madrid 3-2 Chelsea

  4. GOAL - Real Madrid 3-2 Chelsea

    Eden Hazard

Carbon copy stuff, one pass forward from Michy Batshuayi and Eden Hazard is in on goal. Again, the goalkeeper is nowhere and Hazard slots in.

Bennybwalya‏: Hazard has a goal, what a sub. Conte could have thought about him earlier, even though it's just a friendly match.

  6. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-1 Chelsea

Chance! Victor Moses plays Michy Batshuayi in on goal, one touch and hit it! But he takes two and Danilo gets back to block, superbly.

  7. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-1 Chelsea

Into the last five. Chelsea the better side since half-time. But they were already toast.

  8. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-1 Chelsea

Superb from Juan Cuadrado, beats his man for fun and drills in a fine low cross , but there's nobody there.

If Antonio Conte plays with two up front and two proper wingers this season then Chelsea could be very interesting to watch indeed.

  9. GOAL - Real Madrid 3-1 Chelsea

    Eden Hazard

That's the most route one goal I've seen Chelsea score in a long time! A big punt over the top, Eden Hazard one-on-one with the goalkeeper, who comes flying out and Hazard toes it round him to prod home.

Hazard was immense at times during the Euros. And he looked sharp then.

  10. YELLOW CARD

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Thirteen minutes left, the Mexican Waves are out in Michigan. Enzo Zidane chops down Victor Moses and goes in the book. A chip off the old block.

  11. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Bertrand Traore screws a shot wide after good set-up play. Victor Moses then comes on.

  12. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Eden Hazard breezes past a half-hearted tackle and one good pass would send Bertrand Traore in on goal - but he can't beat the last defender.

Twenty minutes to go in Michigan.

  13. SUBSTITUTION

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Eden Hazard is on for Chelsea now. I think Real Madrid might have changed their entire team then. One man on is Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard. Remember him?

Enzo ZIdane is also on. Son of manager Zinedine...

  14. PENALTY APPEAL

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi drives into the area, he beats two men and then goes down in a Raphael Varane and Nacho sandwich. No foul!

    A good shout.

Marcelo is one of many Real Madrid players coming off. I'll try and wrap this up in a minute.

    Sea horse, brogue, eye?

  16. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Real Madrid won the Champions League trophy last season and you'd back them to be there or thereabouts again. So much talent as they start to control the game again.

And then hello! What's Kiko Casilla up to?! The Real keeper goes on walkabout, he's miles out of his goal and Bertrand Traore picks it up. Wide right, he shoots - but Marcelo clears.

  17. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Decent save from Real's Kiko Casilla as he flies to his right to push out a curler from Michy Batshuayi. Not much power from the Belgian though.

  18. CLOSE!

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

What a hit! Juan Cuadrado laces a free-kick from maybe 25 yards, clean as the proverbial whistle, but it flies past the far corner. Chelsea on top since the break. But they are 3-0 down.

  19. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

Juan Cuadrado, the forgotten man of Chelsea, bursts down the right but he's well tackled. Will he stay this season? Antonio Conte knows him and likes him.

  20. Post update

    Real Madrid 3-0 Chelsea

I'm open to pronunciation suggestions for new Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi by the way.
