Tonight's results in the second tier mean fourth-placed Raith Rovers - 2-0 winners at home to Queen of the South - are now seven points clear of the Palmerston side.
At the bottom of the table, Dumbarton's 3-1 win over basement side Alloa Athletic increases the gap between the two sides to 15 points, with the Sons now four points above Livingston and having a game in hand over both of the bottom two.
Before Saturday, however, there are a couple of other Premiership fixtures to be played.
St Johnstone host Inverness Caledonian Thistle tomorrow evening with Saints currently sixth, three points ahead of the Highlanders.
And on Friday evening, bottom side Dundee United travel to take on Motherwell, who are seventh.
