  1. Post update

That's enough from me. Congratulations to Rangers on a thoroughly impressive display against their nearest challengers. I'm sure Hibs won't go away though and Falkirk remain in the hunt in a thrilling Championship race, so there will be a few more twists and turns to come.

    Thanks for your company

If you want to see the goals from today's cracker at Ibrox, you'll need to stay up late. Online highlights will be available on the BBC Sport website from midnight.

Jason Cummings' impudent opener is well worth seeing but there was not much else to cheer for Hibs as Rangers came storming back.

The action never stops at this time of year and we'll be back tomorrow for Ross County v Kilmarnock in the Premiership. That's a 19:45 kick-off up in Dingwall.

  4. Post update

Martyn Waghorn was asked to play a wide role today but that didn't stop him taking his goal tally for the season to 21. The striker worked his socks off up and down the flank and still had the energy to race through and knock in the final goal just after Hibs had got back in the game.

  7. Post update

I was looking forward to a real humdinger of a midfield battle today but, in truth, Rangers won all of the battles rather easily. Fraser Fyvie was the only player in green to show much fight or bite, while Nicky Law, Jason Holt and Barrie McKay all turned in excellent performances.

Andy Halliday also did a good job in the middle of the park but let himself down with a foolish red card. It wasn't a head-butt but there was no need to react in the way he did.

Rangers answered their critics in style with an emphatic response to some indifferent form. They were stronger, faster and hungrier than Hibs, by some distance.

The visitors scored first and somehow had a look in at 3-2 late in the game against 10 men but all the best players were in blue today.

Quote Message: That was a meaty performance from Rangers. Loads of energy, edge, goals and pride. They answered every question today. 4-2 probably didn't do them much justice. Excellent response to recent wobbles."
  12. Post update

Rangers go three points clear at the top of the Championship as they bring Hibs' 17-game unbeaten run to an end.

  13. FULL-TIME Rangers 4-2 Hibernian

  14. Post update

One last stramash? Wes Foderingham goes walkabout in his box as he chases a Liam Henderson cross but the Rangers keeper is in the right place to block Paul Hanlon's hooked shot.

Into stoppage-time now as Hibs plug away gamely but the packed Ibrox stands are in full swing with the sounds of celebration.

  16. Post update

I was about to write game on but it's game over! It's another bad moment for Fraser Fyvie as Martyn Waghorn skips by him and then powers on to prod the ball past Mark Oxley at the keeper's near post.

  17. GOAL Rangers 4-2 Hibernian (Waghorn)

  18. Post update

Well, that is a really odd goal but Dominique Malonga and the small group of Hibs fans at Ibrox won't care about that. A high ball drops into the penalty area and Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham is hesitant, allowing the Hibs sub to head the ball in as he almost lies on the ground.
