We will have highlights of yesterday's Premiership games online from 18:00 GMT, with a Liam Boyce hat-trick and an Aberdeen comeback for you to see.

The action from Tynecastle can be seen on Sportscene at 22:00 tonight on BBC Two Scotland and online from midnight.

  6. Post update

Celtic were without top scorer Leigh Griffiths, captain Scott Brown, playmaker Kris Commons and the experienced Charlie Mulgrew today. They then lost Stuart Armstrong and Dedryk Boyata to first-half injuries. Will Ronny Deila aim to strengthen his squad next month?

    Celtic drew 2-2 at Tynecastle
  7. Post update

We'll hear from Ronny Deila soon, I'm sure. How will the Celtic boss be feeling after conceding such a late goal? The visitors looked to have taken control after Tom Rogic made it 2-1.

Celtic bossed the early stages and were again on top after a really scrappy opening to the second half but Hearts showed great spirit to fight back twice.

  8. Post update

Robbie Neilson is sounding very hoarse in his BBC Radio Scotland interview, sticking to his "our aim is top six" mantra but he lets it slip for a second, saying Hearts will try to chase down Aberdeen in second place.

Here's a look at that Osman Sow thunderbolt that levelled the game right at the end. The big Swede had a very quiet game, saving his best for a spectacular late cameo.

On second viewing, it looks like there might have been a wee deflection on the shot.

  12. Post update

Well, that was absolutely exhausting and I was just watching and making typing errors... The game was played at a real hammer and tongs tempo, with lots of bone-shuddering tackles and the teams served up four very good goals.

Celtic move one point clear at the top of the Premiership pile and third-placed Hearts edge one point nearer Aberdeen.

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"What a real feast of festive football here at Tynecastle. Great goals, tasty tackles and tireless passion from both sets of players. The points are shared but Hearts' late equaliser felt like a winner for the home side. Robbie Neilson ends his victory drought but it's disappointment yet again for Ronny Deila. Cracking entertainment in the capital."

  15. FULL-TIME Hearts 2-2 Celtic

  16. Post update

We're halfway into four minutes of stoppage time and Hearts are chasing a winner, with Celtic now rattled.

  17. Fizzing free-kick

Billy King is brought down 30 yards from goal. The free-kick is rolled short to Osman Sow and the big Swede absolutely hammers a strike into the top corner. Craig Gordon could only stand and watch as the ball zipped past him.

  18. GOAL Hearts 2-2 Celtic (Sow)

  19. Post update

Billy King, sporting the short-sleeves and gloves combo, does well to drive into the Celtic penalty box but then fluffs his lines with an appalling shot.

  20. Post update

We're into the last five minutes as Hearts throw on teenager Dario Zanatta for Morgaro Gomis. Can the Canadian kid make himself a hero?

  21. Post update

Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon slides bravely to gather with his hands at the feet of Prince Buaben. The offside flag is fluttering, which might have saved the former Jambo a kick on the knuckles.

  22. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"If Nadir Ciftci wants to stay on the pitch, he may want to keep those elbows down. Having already been booked, the Turk is testing the referee's patience."

  23. Post update

Hearts make a change up top as Billy King is on for Gavin Reilly, who faded after the interval, having been lively in the first 45 minutes.

  24. Post update

A yellow card for Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci, who takes some retribution on Blazej Augustyn. Those two have had some tussle today.

  25. Post update

Celtic make their final change and it's a bit of a surprise as goalscorer Tom Rogic is replaced by winger Gary Mackay-Steven.

  26. Get Involved

    Well, they did last time.

  27. Post update

Hearts just can't get a hold of the ball as we enter the last 15 minutes. A player or two in maroon needs to show some composure. You certainly can't question the commitment of the home side but that's not always enough.

  28. Post update

Hearts midfielder Prince Buaben ploughs forward through the middle but he just keeps going straight into a challenge from Efe Ambrose rather than looking for a pass.

  29. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Great build up play on the outside of the box and Rogic curls his foot beautifully around the ball and sends it high past the helpless Neil Alexander. How will the home side respond? For now, the majority of this capacity crowd sit in stunned silence."

  30. A thunderous goal

A sweet moment of skill amid the maelstrom of madness as the ball falls to Tom Rogic on the edge of the box and the big Celtic midfielder thunders a great shot into the top corner of the net.

    Tom Rogic scores for Celtic
  31. GOAL Hearts 1-2 Celtic (Rogic)

  32. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Both sides passing up the chance to take control of this game. A game that is now littered with stupid mistakes. The capacity crowd inside this famous old ground want a winner."

  33. Post update

An awkward moment for Hearts full-back Callum Paterson as he stumbles into the ball under pressure from James Forrest and Neil Alexander needs to make a save from his own player.

  34. Post update

A booking for Blazej Augustyn as the Hearts defender bulldozes into Nadir Ciftci. No surprise really since the big Pole had just given referee Steven McLean an earful when claiming for a foul at the other end.

  35. Post update

About half an hour left and the foul count is verging on the ridiculous now as Prince Buaben takes a tumble after a trip from Celtic scorer Nir Bitton.

Hearts' Prince Buaben and Celtic's Stuart Armstrong compete for the ball
  36. Post update

Hearts midfielder Arnaud Djoum hasn't recovered sufficiently from that earlier upending from Efe Ambrose and he limps off the park to be replaced by Miguel Pallardo.

  37. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Early intent from Celtic with some good pressure in key Hearts areas but the second half, like the first, is being broken up by fierce challenges and long spells of treatment. The physios on both benches are certainly earning their wages this afternoon in a fiery and fierce battle."

  38. Get Involved

  39. Post update

With two lengthy breaks in play for those thunderous challenges, the ball has hardly been in play. Now James Forrest is on the turf clutching his ankle. It's feisty out there. Very feisty...

  40. Ouch!

Another sore one as Efe Ambrose is late with a tackle on Arnaud Djoum, sending the Hearts man spinning into a dramatic somersault. Both men are hurt again and the Celtic defender is booked for his troubles.

  41. Ouch!

Oh dear, that looks really sore... Mikael Lustig and Juwon Oshaniwa slide into a challenge and their knees clash together. Both men will need a spot of treatement.

  42. GREAT SAVE!

We're up and running again and within 30 seconds Celtic striker Nadir Ciftci steals the ball from Blazej Augustyn and hammers in a low shot. Neil Alexander has to look very lively to get down and get a hand behind it.

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Both teams head up the tunnel all square after a completely captivating first half. The pendulum has continued to swing from one end of the pitch to the other and with it came two fabulous finishes. Celtic looked spooked after losing Armstrong and Boyata and that gave the home side some real belief. Nothing quite beats Tyncastle when it rocks and it certainly rocked in the first period. What a second half we have in store. Prediction? No chance!"

  49. HALF-TIME Hearts 1-1 Celtic

  50. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Tynecastle erupts and rightly so. Take a bow Sam Nicolson - a fabulous finish on the volley. What a game we have now. Dreadful mistake from Augustyn to let Nir Bitton in for the opener."

  51. Nicholson draws Hearts level

Hearts level in first-half stoppage-time! Prince Buaben lifts the ball into the danger area from the right and in comes Sam Nicholson, who just wants it more than defender Mikael Lustig, as he flicks the ball high into the net to send Tynecastle wild.

  52. GOAL Hearts 1-1 Celtic (Nicholson)

  53. Bitton finds the net

Hearts are caught out with too many bodies up the park as Blazej Augustyn makes a mess of an attempted clearance and Morgaro Gomis can't mop up properly. Nir Bitton is sent through on goal by a clever header from Callum McGregor. The tall Israel midfielder is coolness personified as he slides a low shot beyond Neil Alexander and into the corner.

  54. GOAL Hearts 0-1 Celtic (Bitton)

    Nir Bitton scores for Celtic
  55. Post update

Gavin Reilly is making the most of his starting opportunity for Hearts as he swings in a dangerous, looping cross from the right. A sliding Sam Nicholson meets it at the back post but cannot steer his effort on target.

  56. Gordon into action once again

Efe Ambrose is on for the injured Dedryk Boyata and is quickly shown a clean pair of heels by Gavin Reilly. The Hearts striker pings in a low, angled shot and it needs another good, diving stop from Craig Gordon to keep it out.

  57. GREAT SAVE!

Craig Gordon take a bow! Arnaud Djoum knocks a low ball across the face of goal, a sliding Gavin Reilly is inches away from connecting before Prince Buaben does. The ball is speeding in at the post but the Celtic keeper is somehow able to reach behind himself and claw it out.

  58. Post update

Hearts are probing for an opening as Celtic continue with 10 men for now but the home side are maybe in too much of a hurry and are struggling to retain possession.

  59. Post update

Celtic defender Dedryk Boyata has pulled up with what looks like a hamstring problem. He might be done...

  60. Post update

Hearts forward Gavin Reilly runs on to a long, raking pass out of defence and he's able to prod it beyond the advancing Craig Gordon but he started from an offside position and play is brought to a halt.

  61. Post update

Celtic midfielder Stefan Johansen is booked for a lunging trip on Sam Nicholson. Hearts are creeping back into this game.

  62. Post update

James Forrest does well to gather a Mikael Lustig cross and make room for a shot on the left of the penalty box but the Celtic substitute can only hammer an effort high into the stand.

  63. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Looks like a back problem for Stuart Armstrong. He cut a disconsolate figure as he trudged off the park with his hands on his hips. James Forrest on in his place and already looking to make an impact down that left hand side. Hearts confidence is growing - they and they are edging into this match after early Celtic domination."

  64. Post update

Sam Nicholson drives forward for the home side, cutting in from the left to let fly. The shot is far too high but the fans in maroon and white applaud the positive thinking, if not the execution.

  65. Early change for Celtic

Celtic need to make an early change as Stuart Armstrong limps off grimacing and clutching his back. James Forrest is the replacement.

  66. Post update

Celtic's third corner of the afternoon skids through a congested box to Jozo Simunovic at the back post area but the defender is maybe not expecting it to reach him and his header is weak and easily held by Neil Alexander.

  67. Post update

All of a sudden, Hearts threaten as Gavin Reilly puts Dedryk Boyata under pressure and the Celtic defender has to stretch to hack the ball clear near his own penalty spot as goalkeeper Craig Gordon comes sliding out to get involved.

Gavin Reilly causes the Celtic defence a problem
  68. Post update

It's one-way traffic at the moment as Callum McGregor, then Nadir Ciftci threaten with headers. Hearts just can't get close enough to shut down the Celtic attacks. Too many brussel sprouts?

  69. Post update

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"The usual fast and furious start to this fixture. It looks all very congested in the middle of the park with pinball passes and flying tackles. Celtic slightly on top with Rogic and McGregor in particular looking spritely."

  70. Post update

Tom Rogic is busy as he picks up from a poor Prince Buaben header and jinks past a couple of Hearts men to get a shot away at the edge of the penalty box but it's a comfortable save for Neil Alexander.

  71. Post update

A first real sight of goal as Tom Rogic slides a nice pass through for Nadir Ciftci to run on to. The Celtic striker thunders into the penalty box but his low shot is well stopped by Neil Alexander.

  72. Post update

Nadir Ciftci turns and has a pop from long range but the Celtic striker's effort is too high to trouble goalkeeper Neil Alexander.

  73. Post update

Hearts are playing with three sitting midfielders in Buaben, Gomis and Djoum, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out. At the moment it looks like Gomis is playing on the right rather than in the middle.

  74. Post update

Callum McGregor scurries forward with purpose and his low delivery finds Tom Rogic in the Hearts penalty area, with the Australian midfielder's first-time effort deflected behind for a corner. The set-piece sails over the danger area, with no one at the back post...

  75. KICK-OFF

    And we're off.

  76. Post update

The teams are out now at a very noisy Tynecastle.

Celtic are aiming to bounce back from a shock 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell. The champions have won just three of their last eight outings, with a disappointing Europa League campaigning shadowing those less than flattering statistics.

Hearts drew 0-0 at St Johnstone last weekend, playing more than an hour with 10 men after Juanma's sending off.

  77. Post update

The teams are in the tunnel. Not long to go now.

  78. No goal-machine Griffiths

There might be a few Hearts fans who are sad that they will not be able to pass on a selection of festive greetings to Leigh Griffiths.

The injured Celtic striker is a Hibs fan and former player at Easter Road which always guarantees a warm 'welcome' at Tynecastle.

However, I'm sure most of the home support are glad that the 25-year-old does not have the chance to add to his 19 goals today. His replacement, Nadir Ciftci, has four for the season...

    Chris McLaughlin

    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

"Not a cloud in the sky here in the capital and Tyncastle is filling up nicely. It's been a while since this fixture lived up to the hype but both managers told me pre-match that they sense the usual crackle of excitement that precedes kick off. Ronny Deila shrugged off criticism of his side's recent performances and questions about his abilities as Celtic boss. Robbie Neilson says it's a day for big characters to rise to the occasion."

Referee Willie Collum made the headlines again yesterday with Derek McInnes and John Hughes criticising his performance at Pittodrie.

He's off to Euro 2016 and that bemuses BBC Sportsound pundit Michael Stewart, who says with typical bluntness: "He's not the best referee in Scotland, far from it."

Today's man in the middle is Steven McLean...

  84. Post update

A quick recap on yesterday's Premiership action.

Aberdeen came from 2-0 down to draw at home with Inverness. A win would have taken them above Celtic.

Liam Boyce keeps banging them in for Ross County, netting his second hat-trick of the season in a 5-2 win over Dundee, while Kilmarnock picked up vital points in a 1-0 success at Hamilton.

The games at Firhill and Tannadice were postponed after the heavy rain.

  85. Hearts on the up

Hearts are looking to avoid going five games without a win after three draws and a defeat as they remain third in the Premiership - 10 points behind Celtic and Aberdeen but having played two games fewer than the Dons.

This time last year, Robbie Neilson's men picked up a 1-0 win at Livingston as they steamrollered their way to the Championship title.

Jambos must be delighted with the recovery from the horrible mess of administration in 2013 and few would bet against them staying in the top three.

  86. Close encounters this term

Celtic have scored 26 goals in those seven wins but that last success was hard-earned in a scrappy game, littered with niggling fouls, with play rarely flowing for more than a few minutes at a time.

The first league game between the sides this season ended goalless at Celtic Park, with the hosts wasting a load of first-half chances but needing Efe Ambrose to sacrifice himself to a late red card to stop Sam Walker racing clear on goal.

  87. Celtic seek eight in a row at Tynecastle

Celtic were last in the west side of Edinburgh back in late October, with goals from Leigh Griffiths and Tom Rogic giving them a 2-1 League Cup victory.

That was a seventh successive win for the Scottish champions at Tynecastle.

  91. Life of Reilly

Hearts are without suspended striker Juanma Delgado, following his foolish head-butt at St Johnstone, so Gavin Reilly comes in for a rare start.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is still missing with a calf problem, so Nadir Ciftci continues to lead the line. The visitors make two midfield changes as Stuart Armstrong and Stefan Johansen come in for James Forrest and Kris Commons.

  92. LINE-UPS FROM TYNECASTLE

Hearts: Alexander, Paterson, Augustyn, Rossi, Oshaniwa, Buaben, Gomis, Djoum, Nicholson, Reilly, Sow.

Subs: Hamilton, Ozturk, McGhee, Pallardo, Swanson, King, Zanatta

Celtic:  Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Simunovic, Tierney; Bitton, Johansen; McGregor, Rogic, Armstrong; Ciftci.

Subs: Bailly, Izaguirre, Ambrose, Allan, Mackay-Steven, Cole, Forrest.

  93. Taking your chances...

Aberdeen wasted their chance to go top of the Premiership yesterday and that allows Celtic the opportunity to open up a lead at Tynecastle this afternoon.

However, Hearts will be fired up for this festive fixture in front of a full-house and this season's previous meetings have been close run.

Hearts v Celtic is usually a rousing occasion and this could be a real cracker...
