  1. 'An historic win'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Let's leave the last word to Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.

He said: "In my opinion, it's the biggest result in the club's history. The club has never been in the Premier League before so winning at the champions is a huge result for the club.

"Hopefully it will be talked about for a long time to come and hopefully there are more moments like that ahead of us."

For his sake, let's hope so. Good night.

  2. Reaction

  3. 'We are upset'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois: "Of course we are upset. We have to regroup and show strength for Wednesday's game in the Champions League. We have the quality to get out of this situation."

It could have been a lot worse for Chelsea, had the big Belgian not made several good saves in the first half. An unhappy return for Courtois after three months out with a knee injury.

  4. 'On cloud nine'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Fair to say, the Bournemouth chairman's reasonably happy, too...

  5. What's next?

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

So who do Bournemouth play next, I hear you say? Well it's Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium next Saturday. Onwards and upwards.

After their Champions League tie, Chelsea travel to face Premier League leaders Leicester, a week on Monday.

    Should be interesting.

  6. Post update

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

It says something about Chelsea's season that Bournemouth beating them at home only makes the match fourth on Match of the Day.

Another goalless draw at home for Manchester United makes them last.

The times, they are a changing.

  7. Reaction

  8. 'What a feeling'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

You know that phrase: a picture tells a thousand words......

  9. 'It is really disappointing'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

    Jose Mourinho

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho: "Even in the last few minutes, we had two strikers on the pitch and not one got close to touching the cross.

"It is really disappointing because the team was playing better and more confident and we did not expect to lose. But there is no time to be crying - in three days time we have an important game in the Champions League."

Ah yes, the Champions League. Chelsea face Porto on Wednesday and need a point to progress to the knockout stages.

Winning the competition might be the only option of playing in it next year!

  10. Result not fair - Mourinho

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho speaking to BBC Sport: "The result is not fair. In the first half we were soft and did not press and were not aggressive and were not intense. In the second half everything changed. We were aggressive, created chances and had crosses and a clear penalty that the referee did not see. That is the game. In the moment when our opponent were thinking just about defending a clean sheet they cross the halfway line for the first time and scored.

"If it was offside it is another episode that goes against us, but I did not see it."

  11. Offside? Who cares?

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth celebrate

Goalscorer Glenn Murray is asked what he thinks of Eddie Howe's previous comment. He replies: "I suppose it's right up there. The gaffer is the man in the know. It's a vital victory but more importantly it's a big three points."

As for being offside for the goal, he says: "I didn't feel like I was but it doesn't matter now."

    Well said.

  16. 'Dressing room emotional'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

More from Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe: "I don't think we have defended too badly [this season], it's just been individual mistakes and setbacks but the players have come in and worked hard for the next game and tried to improve themselves. It was really emotional in the dressing room afterwards so I'm so proud of them."

  17. 'We answered the questions'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

    Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe speaking to Sky Sports: "In the first half I thought it was quite even, in the second half we had to defend, I thought we were magnificent. There were question marks about our defending but we have answered those questions today."

  18. Champions League gone?

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

So top six is now maybe the target for Jose Mourinho's Chelsea. For the record, Chelsea are now 14 points behind fourth-place Manchester United.

Can Chelsea kiss the Champions League goodbye? And what does that mean for our Jose?

  19. 'Maybe top six is the target'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

    Jose Mourinho

More from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho: "I am concerned of course. There is no chance that Chelsea will be fighting relegation. That is not the problem. It is that our objective is to finish top four. Before this game it was realistic to think that our quality would take us out of this position, but maybe now we have to think about top six.

"If our players are not able to give the maximum every day that is a problem. If you analysis match after match there are a few layers where it is difficult to be consistent. You think there is evolution, but maybe it is just one moment in which they are good."

  20. 'Referee made a mistake for the goal'

    Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho speaking to Sky Sports: "We didn't deserve to lose. Our opponent - in the period that they thought only of defence - managed to get a goal and there was a clear mistake from the referee

"I think it is a clear handball and penalty with the score at 0-0. In the first half we were not aggressive enough, in the second half we arrived in dangerous positions a lot of time with a lot of crosses from the right hand side from Ivanovic.

"They played in a way that some call intelligent, some say is not fair play. They were taking time, calling for the medical department and drinking water like it is basketball time out."

  83. Cesc not so Fab - Townsend

    Chelsea 0-0 Bournemouth

That little blunder by Cesc Fabregas at the end of the half was perhaps symptomatic of his season.

“My feeling with Fabregas is that his game suffers when the other components of the team aren’t working," former Blues midfielder Andy Townsend told 5 live Sport on Friday.

"If Eden Hazard is at his absolute best, if Diego Costa is taking those half chances, if Pedro hits the ground running, then I think Fabregas’s assists, his supporting role, will always come through and be noteworthy.

“Without those components at their very best, he doesn’t have the physical aspect to his game. He is a marvellous player with the ball at his feet, but against the very best opposition he is easily picked off.”

Joshua King gets a whack in the face from Kurt Zouma as he and the Chelsea defender wrestle for the ball. Looked painful but unintentional. Pedro then goes into the book after he loses the ball and brings down Harry Arter. Cynical, but clever.

Bournemouth defender Adam Smith is not shy in coming forward. Nor are his team-mates, but having seen Eddie Howe's team a few times this season, you have to also consider the gaps they leave at the back. Baba Rahman crosses for Chelsea from the left but it evades any of his team-mates.

Ex-Bournemouth defender John Williams at Stamford Bridge

"That was Bournemouth's best phase so far, with fast football then Joshua King fired hard and low but the keeper just got a touch on it around the post.

"It's been a good start from Bournemouth. They have had a couple of full-on chances."

Gary Cahill, who has already been busy in the Chelsea defence, is down with an injury. The hosts will hope it's not serious. He's made one or two good blocks already.

Great break from Bournemouth and Junior Stanislas is through but Thibuat Courtois saves brilliantly and then watches as Joshua King's follow-up is blocked. Back in the team and already making a difference. How Chelsea have missed the big Belgian.

    Jermaine Jenas

Ex-Spurs & England midfielder on Football Focus

"Matt Ritchie has been invaluable to Bournemouth this season. He was brilliant last year in the Championship and has proven he can mix it with the best in the Premier League.

"He is so important to the Cherries - he is their best player and is having a great year."

Many people were predicting that a team in blue would win the Premier League this season. And looking at the table summit, that could still be true. But how many of you expected that team to be Leicester not Chelsea?

With Jose Mourinho's men languishing in 14th, is this a relegation six-pointer?

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (17:30 GMT)

    Steve Wilson

BBC Match of the Day commentator at Stamford Bridge

"Bournemouth and Chelsea may only have taken a point each last weekend but both managers seemed well satisfied with that.

"Jose Mourinho declared it Chelsea's best performance in weeks, whilst Eddie Howe delighted in his side's character to come back against Everton in a game they twice seemed to have lost.

"You have to feel for Howe. There were always going to be some tough days for Bournemouth this season, but to have his most expensive signings injured and potentially be down to his third-choice goalkeeper seems particularly cruel.

"Bournemouth continue to ignore adversity and try to play with verve and spirit, but if they get anything at all at Stamford Bridge then Mourinho really will be at rock bottom."

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says he has no problem with Diego Costa but ex-Blues winger Pat Nevin does.

“Watching him in last five or six games it is getting annoying that he refusing to get into six yard box," the former Scotland winger tells 5 live Sport.

Maybe that's why he's not in the team?

Diego Costa is on the bench again, so Eden Hazard starts up front as he did against Tottenham. After a three-month absence with a knee injury Thibaut Courtois is back in the Chelsea goal and Baba Rahman replaces Cesar Azpilicueta at left-back.

Bournemouth survive their injury goalkeeper crisis as Artur Boruc recovers from a knee problem to replace the injured Adam Federici. Adam Smith is in for the ill Sylvain Distin in defence.  The last time Boruc started a game was in that 5-1 defeat by Tottenham, a game in which he had a shocker.

Right enough chat. Is the bib-thrower in the Chelsea team or will Eden Hazard continue up front?

  139. 'Cherries need to curb enthusiasm'

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (17:30 GMT)

Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin is one such advisor. He thinks Bournemouth's all-out attack is why they are winless in eight Premier League games and sit in the relegation zone.

“I think Bournemouth have still been ultra-positive. Three points out of the last 24 tells me they have to change," he told 5 live Sport on Friday.

“It is lovely to see teams play their way away from trouble at the bottom of the league. But it doesn’t happen. When you’re bottom of the league it difficult to have the confidence to do that.”

  140. Party poopers?

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (17:30 GMT)

    Junior Stanislas

The Cherries managed to clutch a draw from the jaws of defeat twice against Everton last weekend in a thrilling finale. Despite being told to curb his team's attacking instincts, Eddie Howe has taken little notice. And who knows, maybe his side can be the latest to spoilt the party at Stamford Bridge?

  141. All's cool with Jose

    Chelsea v Bournemouth (17:30 GMT)

    Diego Costa

Fresh from slinging his toys, I mean, bib towards his manager Jose Mourinho in frustration at his place on the bench against Tottenham last Sunday, Diego Costa was among Chelsea team-mates as they let off steam in the big smoke in midweek. What's more the boss was cool with it.

After three games unbeaten, Chelsea are showing a few signs of overturning their poor start to the season but now come up against a Bournemouth team who've had plenty of fizz themselves this season.
