Manager reaction: Fulham boss Kit Symons

"It was an uncomfortable second half," Symons told Sky Sport. "Andy Lonergan made some important saves and they put us under huge pressure. They are a big side, it was tough, we had to be resilient. We gave away a very soft penalty which gave them a lift, the non-goal was a tough call but I am not going to apologise for getting a bit of luck."

He doesn't book him at all (for the penalty), it's a goal scoring opportunity. They are the things not going for us. You can see the ball (over the line)."

    Fulham 2-1 Blackburn

Fulham hold on for all five minutes. Desperately harsh on Blackburn Rovers who will feel massively aggrieved when they see replays of what should have been an equaliser.

  9. Fulham 2-1 Blackburn

It comes to nothing though and Andy Lonergan has the ball in his grasp.

It should be 2-2. The ball finds Bangaly-Fode Koita in the Fulham box and he thumps it against the post from close range. How did that not go in?

    Fulham 2-1 Blackburn

    Fulham v Blackburn scuffle

    Fulham 2-1 Blackburn

Jamie O'Hara is late on Ben Marshall and after a bit of argy bargy from both sets of players the Fulham midfielder receives a yellow card. Nasty challenge.

Fulham's Tom Cairney is fed the ball but his goal-bound shot from 12 yards is blocked by Shane Duffy on the line. Great defending.

  25. Fulham 2-1 Blackburn

    Fulham 2-0 Blackburn

So, it's 2-0 to Fulham at the break. Ross McCormack and Moussa Dembele have been a thorn in the Blackburn defence, although Rovers have had chances themselves.

But after scoring his first league goal of the season, it's fair to say that Dembele is pretty happy with life judging from this celebration...

    Moussa Dembele

    Fulham 2-0 Blackburn

    Ben Marshall

Ben Marshall is played in by Jordan Rhodes but his low shot from 20 yards is dragged across goal and it doesn't trouble Andy Lonergan.

  54. Fulham 1-0 Blackburn

Blackburn seem to have taken the sting out of the game now after that blistering start from Fulham. They cannot make anything stick in the final third though. Intriguing battle this.

  68. The importance of Rhodes

    Fulham v Blackburn (12:00 BST)

    Jordan Rhodes

Rovers boss Gary Bowyer says keeping hold of star striker Jordan Rhodes in the transfer window was crucial for his side.

"We've done the best bit of business by keeping hold of Jordan Rhodes; it's as simple as that," said Bowyer.

"It's a fantastic bit of business for the club. He's an unbelievable finisher. He's had two great weeks now with us and looks really, really sharp. We just can't wait for him to start scoring goals."

  69. Stat attack

    Fulham v Blackburn (12:00 BST)

Fulham are winless in four against Blackburn, losing the last three in a row while Rovers are winless in their last five away league matches, drawing four.

  70. Symons keen on Bowyer

    Fulham v Blackburn (12:00 BST)

Fulham manager Kit Symons is a firm admirer of the job his opposite number Gary Bowyer is doing in what are tough times at Blackburn Rovers.

"He's an excellent manager and he's had to work under difficult circumstances at times," Symons told Fulham's official website.

"But he just cracks on and does his job, and does it very, very well, so they'll be strong and organised, we know that."

  72. How Blackburn line up

    Fulham v Blackburn (12:00 BST)

Blackburn Rovers make two changes from the side that drew with Bolton before the international break.

Goalkeeper Jason Steele is given his first league start of the season, on the ground where he made his Rovers debut last year.

Jason Lowe is ruled out by a foot injury so former Fulham loanee Danny Guthrie replaces him in the centre of midfield.

  73. How Fulham line up

    Fulham v Blackburn (12:00 BST)

Fulham hand a debut to defender Richard Stearman, who joined the Cottagers from Wolves on deadline day.

Ross McCormack leads the forward line, looking to build on his run of three goals in his last two games.

  74. Fulham v Blackburn

It's fair to say the 2015/16 season has already not been much fun for Blackburn Rovers. Without a win in the Championship they already find themselves in the bottom three so the international break may have done them some good. Fulham come into the game off the back of a decent away win at Rotherham and with home advantage will no doubt fancy their chances against Rovers.
