  1. Goodbye

    Argentina 6-1 Paraguay

So, the 2015 Copa America final is a mouth-watering showdown between hosts Chile and 14-time winners Argentina, ranked three in the world. Lionel Messi still only has one goal in the tournament but La Albiceleste are flying. You can follow live text commentary of the final on the BBC Sport website on Saturday (21:00 BST). Thanks for your company. Until next time...

  2. Post update

    Argentina 6-1 Paraguay

    What now for Paraguay?

No doubt Ramon Diaz's players want to go home.

Unfortunately they must play Peru in a third place play-off first.

At least Diaz won't have to fork out on any pick-up trucks for his players.

  3. Get Involved

Sbusiso: Chile versus Argentina it is, it will be a cracker. Can't wait.

That was really special by Argentina.

Four of the six goals came from Manchester-based players.

    Argentina 6-1 Paraguay

It's Chile versus Argentina in the Copa America 2015 final.

  6. Post update

    Argentina 6-1 Paraguay

The final moments are a damage limitation exercise by Paraguay. The quarter-final winners over Brazil don't know what has hit them.

  7. Post update

    Argentina 6-1 Paraguay 1

Host Chile will not enjoy watching this.

Argentina have suddenly come alive at the perfect moment.

This has been a ruthless display by Gerardo Martino's men.

    Next stop...Santiago.

  8. GOAL

Argentina 6-1 Paraguay - Gonzalo Higuaín

    Gonzalo Higuaín celebrates

Sergio Aguero hardly had time to celebrate when he was replaced by Gonzalo Higuain.

And the Napoli forward has wasted no time getting in on the act, finishing from close range after Paraguay's shell-shocked defence fails to deal with another attack.

Paraguay just want this game to end.

  9. GOAL

Argentina 5-1 Paraguay - Sergio Aguero

    Sergio Aguero celebrates

    Too easy.

Sergio Aguero, unmarked eight yards out, gets on the end of Angel Di Maria's cross to score Argentina's fifth goal.

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

The high intensity has evaporated from this game. Barring a sensational Paraguay comeback, Argentina are in the final.

Another change by Gerardo Martino. This time Javier Mascherano, who is a booking away from a suspension in this tournament, is replaced by midfielder Fernando Gago.

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

    Javier Pastore's work is done.

He's been excellent for Argentina and receives pats on the back from the coaching staff as he is replaced by Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega.

    Fifteen minutes remaining.

  12. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

Quote Message: As the atmosphere drops with Argentina in total control, how about a strangely timed newspaper review.... No surprise that today's newspapers in Chile were focusing less on this game and more on their home team's victory in Santiago. In fact it dominated the local media so much that La Cuarta and Las Ultimas Noticias didn't have any non-football news at all. The El Mercurio called Chile's achievement "A historical step". Meanwhile in another reference to the spat between Chile and Peru over an alcoholic cocktail (I'm not going there again!) La Terceca went with the headline: 'He (Vargas) drank all their Pisco!' from Richard Padula BBC World Service

  13. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

The only thing missing from this Argentina performance is a Lionel Messi goal. The Barcelona forward links well with Javier Pastore but, just when it looks as though Messi might get on the scoresheet, he is thwarted by Paraguay's goalkeeper.

  14. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

Can Angel Di Maria become the second player of the tournament to score a hat-trick? He's certainly giving it a go.

Argentina are toying with their opponents. They've taken their foot off the gas since scoring the fourth but continue to dominate possession.

    Just over 20 minutes remaining.

  15. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

    Poor Paraguay.

They won so many plaudits for containing Brazil in the quarter-finals before knocking them out on penalties.

But they have been handed a lesson in clinical finishing in Concepcion.

  16. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

    Argentina are rampant.

They have scored as many goals in this game than in their previous four matches of the tournament.

And they're not finished. Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Javier Pastore are causing carnage.

  17. Post update

    Argentina 4-1 Paraguay

Alexi Sanchez versus Lionel Messi. Angel Di Maria against Eduardo Vargas.

Whatever plans you have for Saturday...cancel them. The Copa America final promises to be something truly special.

  18. GOAL

Argentina 4-1 Paraguay - Angel Di María

    Di Maria celebrates

Roll up, roll up...get your Chile v Argentina tickets here.

Angel Di Maria rounds off another delightful move which sees Lionel Messi hold off two challenges before laying the ball off for Javier Pastore to set up the Manchester United man to fire into an open goal.

  19. Post update

    Argentina 3-1 Paraguay

The more times I see that goal the more I admire Javier Pastore.

That was one of the passes of the tournament by the Paris St-Germain man. Absolutely sensational.

  20. GOAL

Argentina 3-1 Paraguay - Angel Di Maria

    Angel Di Maria celebrates

Breathtaking goal right off the training ground restores Argentina's two-goal cushion.

It's a beautiful low angled finish by Angel Di Maria into the bottom corner of the net after a defence-splitting pass by Javier Pastore whose influence on this game is growing by the minute.

  21. KICK-OFF

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

    Argentina are rattled.

They've just held a team talk in the tunnel before emerging for the start of the second half.

Can Paraguay come back from 2-0 behind for the second time in this tournament against the number three team in the world.

    We're back under way.

  23. Too physical for Roque

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

    Roque Santa Cruz
Quote Message: Before the match Roque Santa Cruz told us that Paraguay were more suited to the 'physically aggressive style of play' needed to beat Argentina, in comparison to Colombia who lost out to Messi and co in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately Santa Cruz has hobbled off the pitch, things got a little too physical. And talking of former Premier League players, we're looking forward to chatting with Nobby Solano tomorrow for our World Football radio programme. A genuinely nice guy, which led us to the theory that a spell in the North-East of England is good for matter where in the world you come from. from Richard Padula BBC World Service

If it finishes like this then it's a Chile v Argentina final in Santiago on Saturday (21:00 BST).

The third place play-off - kick-off 00:30 BST on Saturday - will be contested by Peru and Paraguay.

  25. Reasons to cheer for the home fans

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

Quote Message: That Paraguay goal was extremely popular among the Chile fans inside the stadium. Not just because it was a slap in the face for Argentina but Lucas Barrios played club football in Chile for Colo Colo and Temuco. Even before the game, and despite starting as a sub, he was given a big cheer when his name was read out by the stadium announcer. Incidently Barrios was born in Argentina. from Richard Padula BBC World Service

  26. Post update

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

What is is with Argentina and pressing the self-destruct button.

They were coasting 2-0 against Paraguay in the group stage but had to settle for a 2-2 draw, Lucas Barrios scoring in that game too.

They are doing Gerardo Martino's health no good whatsoever.

Just like Chile v Peru, this is another belting semi-final.

  29. Post update

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

That goal has completely changed the complexion of this game.

Argentina were coasting. Now they can't wait for the half-time whistle.

  30. GOAL

    Argentina 2-1 Paraguay

    Lucas Barrios celebrates

    Oh my word.

What a finish by Lucas Barrios. He's only on the pitch because of Roque Santa Cruz's injury and he's fired Paraguay right back into this with an instinctive effort from the edge of the area.

  31. Post update

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

Both Argentina and Paraguay required penalties to get through the quarter-finals.

It's going to need something special from Paraguay if this game is to be decided by a shootout.

  32. Post update

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

A move made in Manchester...Angel Di Maria's on the charge and the Manchester United winger tries to pick out Sergio Aguero on the edge of the six-yard area but the ball is just about hacked clear before it lands at the feet of the Manchester City player.

Sean Mckenzie : Argentina v Chile final could be a classic.

Kyle Utterson  Would love to see a Argentina v Chile final - it would be an amazing spectacle and I think we will as I fancy a narrow 2-1 win for Argentina. Paraguay showed in the opening game though that they can cause havoc for Argentina.

  34. Post update

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

Argentina squandered a 2-0 lead against Paraguay in their first group game but La Albiceleste are in no mood to let this one slip.

They look a threat every time they cross the half way line.

Chile versus Argentina in the final already looks a mouth-watering prospect.

  35. Post update

    Argentina 2-0 Paraguay

Not only are Paraguay 2-0 behind but they will now have to try and find a way back into this without Roque Santa Cruz after the former Manchester City forward limps off injured.

  36. GOAL

Argentina 2-0 Paraguay - Javier Pastore

    Javier Pastore scores

It's all going wrong for Paraguay.

Paris St-Germain's Javier Pastore produces a sublime finish from the edge of the area, a low drilled shot into the corner of the net, after being allowed to run unchallenged.

    Argentina 1-0 Paraguay

    Argentina 1-0 Paraguay

Rojo's goal wasn't the prettiest but no one in blue and white cares. It came just moments after he had been booked for a foul on Derlis Gonzalez.

  42. GOAL

Argentina 1-0 Paraguay - Marcos Rojo

    Marcos Rojo celebrates

First blood to Argentina as Paraguay fail to deal with a Lionel Messi free-kick into the danger area and Manchester United's Marcos Rojo produces a low finish from close range to give his side the lead. Paraguay have it all to do.

  43. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Paraguay

Argentina have yet to really fire at this tournament scoring just four goals in four games. It's another cautious start by Gerardo Martino's men, who are wearing their traditional light blue and white striped shirts. Paraguay are playing in their familiar red and white shirts.

  44. Team-sheet disaster

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

Quote Message: One hazard of covering a football match in Chile, I've just got chunky guacamole all over my team-sheet! A large media turn out as you'd expect. The organisers have told us we'll have to go to the post-match mixed zone well before the final whistle. Let's hope it doesn't go to penalties! And talking of penalties...if Paraguay were to win on penalties, they would have reached the last two Copa America finals having only won one match in normal time. And that was against Jamaica! from Richard Padula BBC World Service

    Argentina 0-0 Paraguay

Not something you see very often...Lionel Messi has the ball whipped off his toes and Paraguay launch a counter attack which ends with Roque Santa Cruz drilling a chance wide from 20 yards. An early warning for Argentina.

  46. Post update

    Argentina 0-0 Paraguay

Not the free-flowing start we saw in Santiago in the other semi-final between Chile and Peru.

Very tight start, both teams eager to get a feel of the ball. Lots of neat passing, little goalmouth action.

  48. KICK-OFF

    Argentina 0-0 Paraguay

    Terrific noise in Concepcion.

  52. Finalists...without winning a single game

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

Incredible but true.... Paraguay reached the Copa America 2011 final without winning a single game.

After drawing all three group games, they defeated Brazil and Venezuela on penalties in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively before losing to Uruguay 3-0 in the final.

This time round they have won one game to date - against Jamaica.

  54. Paraguay's win bonus...

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

    Pick up truck

Footballers have been rewarded with performance bonuses ranging from money to villas and holidays. But pick-up trucks? And not one, but three?

That is what awaits Paraguay's squad if they defeat Argentina.

"Did I promise the squad something? Ask the players, they've already won two," said the country's Argentine coach Ramon Diaz.

Striker Edgar Benitez added: "We've already won two pick-ups off him and we're going for the third."

  55. Why Messi is clinging on to June

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

It's now officially July in Britain but in South America it is still June - just.

And Lionel Messi just loves the sixth month of the calendar year...

  56. Messi goal drought?

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

Think Lionel Messi and immediately goals come to mind.

The 28-year-old can't stop scoring for Barcelona but for Argentina it's a different story.

Astonishingly, Messi has scored just one international goal in 828 minutes - that's more than 13 hours - of official matches. And that came from the penalty spot against Paraguay in his team's opening Copa America group game.

  57. 'Chile is slowly learning how to host an event'

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

Time to hear from our man in Chile...

Quote Message: A return to the wood-smoke smelling Estadio Municipal in the university city of Concepcion. A rather charmless town if truth be told, but perhaps I'm missing something. A good number of Argentina fans have made the trip across the border, but still the chant of "Chi Chi, Chi, La La La, Viva Chile" is the vocal motif in the the local residents have also turned out in force. And the tournament's volunteers are being extra helpful today, even carried my TV camera to my seat in the media tribune. After weeks of disorganisation, it seems Chile is slowing learning how to host a major sporting event. from Richard Padula BBC World Service

  60. Pleased to meet you....again

    Argentina v Paraguay (00:30 BST)

    Argentina v Paraguay

These two teams are anything but strangers, their most recent meeting coming just over two weeks ago when Paraguay fought back from two goals down to deny Argentina victory in their opening group game of the tournament.

Argentina raced ahead in the first half as Sergio Aguero slotted in before Lionel Messi converted a penalty.

Paraguay fought back after the break, Nelson Valdez halving the deficit with a long-distance shot. Lucas Barrios then drove in late on to snatch a point.
