Olly: Morgan, wow! 55 off 21 balls - imagine if he had never played for England. He has to be the most important England white-ball cricketer ever. Not just for his batting but for how he changed the philosophy.

Huw Rawlings: What a dependable, brilliant player and captain, Eoin Morgan has become. To think so many were calling for him to lose his place in the white ball side. I think Root will struggle to find a place back in this side.

Eoin Morgan of England embraces Ben Stokes of England after victory during the Third T20 International match between South Africa and England at Supersport Park

Not only that, but the 15 sixes equals England's best in a T20, joining the 15 they plundered against New Zealand at Auckland in 2013.

  3. Post update

That's the fourth highest run chase of all time in T20 internationals. England's run-rate was actually quicker than their best chase, 230-8 against South Africa at the last T20 World Cup. 11.79 runs per over today, 11.69 then.

Eoin Morgan will be absolutely delighted. He often talks about how much a team can learn from a tight finish - they've had three of those in these three matches

  5. England win the series 2-1

Eng 223-5 - win by five wickets

What a run chase! Moeen Ali ends it with a biff to long-off for four. England have chased down 223 - their second highest run chase in T20 cricket. Incredible game. Brilliant series.

Eoin Morgan and Moeen Ali of England celebrate victory during the Third T20 International match between South Africa and England at Supersport Park
  6. Morgan dropped on 55

    Eng 222-5

You call this a drop, but it would have been a worldie. Morgan top edge, Pretorius running back, barely gets a hand on it.

    The scores are level....

  7. 50 for Eoin Morgan

    Eng 220-5

Six more! 50 for the skipper, with his seventh six. 21 balls, equalling his England record for the fastest 50.

    Only three needed....

  8. Eng 214-5

    Target 223

That must be the ball game! Morgan six over cow corner....

All the crowd was up there, thinking Pretorius had held on to it, until he rolled over and the ball popped out.

  10. Moeen dropped on 0

    Eng 208-5

Is that the game? Moeen top-edges a hook. Dwaine Pretorius scrambling. Dives. Spills it. They run one. Silence in the crowd.

  11. Eng 207-5

    Target 223

Just a single to Morgan, on strike because the batsmen crossed. Now it will be Moeen. 16 from 10....

  12. WICKET

    Stokes c sub (Hendricks) b Ngidi 22 (Eng 206-5)

Another twist! Ben Stokes picks out Bueran Hendricks at deep square leg. Hendricks is on for the injured Temba Bavuma. That might have gone over the shorter man. 17 from 11 needed. Moeen Ali the new man...

Ben Stokes of England reacts after being dismissed by Lungi Ngidi of South Africa during the Third T20 International match between South Africa and England at Supersport Park

Even the protesters up on the floodlight pylon are now sitting down and watching the match. Must be a good view from up there.

  14. Eng 206-4

    Target 223

    17 off 12.

England favourites, but what we've seen so far in this series, you wouldn't discount anything.

What a game. What a series.

Whatever happens here, this has been a great series.

    Eoin Morgan
  16. Eng 203-4

    Target 223

And another! In the slot, smashed to cow corner. Almost down to a run a ball.

  17. Eng 197-4

    Target 223

Heaved for six by Ben Stokes. That's the 50 partnership....

  18. Eng 191-4

"Get down" shouts Eoin Morgan as he chips the ball to mid-off for a single. He gets his wish.

Andy Carter: This has got Super Over written all over it... astonishing game.

  20. Eng 190-4

    Target 223

Trick shots? It's like John Virgo on Big Break. Ben Stokes reverse-ramps a yorker for four to third man. He doesn't even move the bat. He just places it delicately and the ball deflects off to the fence. Incredible. England need 43 from 18.
