  1. Post update

That's us done for today. A clinical, professional and seriously impressive performance from England.

    Amy Lofthouse's report is here.

    The full scorecard is here.

The latest Test Match Special podcast will be available in the next couple of hours. You'll be able to find that here.

Don't forget, you can listen to commentary of the third T20 between Australia and Pakistan here.

We'll see you on Sunday for the final T20 in Auckland. Fingers crossed the weather doesn't get the better of us.

  2. Post update

England batsman Dawid Malan, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's not often in your career everything comes off, it was a lot of fun out there. I felt rusty in the first game of the series but it's felt smoother and smoother. I said this morning that I felt I had got rid of the rust and thankfully it clicked here with the short boundaries. Morgs came out and changed the momentum of the game and I piggy-backed that. All credit should go to Morgs for changing the game with the way he played."

Dawid Malan takes pride in being able to pace his innings, judge who to attack and when to attack them and he did that really well today.

  4. Post update

England captain Eoin Morgan: "It was quite a clinical performance. Dawid Malan scoring 100 today is absolutely brilliant. To see a guy who has has limited opportunity come in and make the most of it is exactly what you want to see.

"Myself and Dawid have played for a long time together at Middlesex and we know each other pretty well. It was enjoyable, we had a lot of laughs out there. It was a beautiful wicket to bat on."

  5. Post update

New Zealand stand-in captain Tim Southee: "That can happen in Twenty20 cricket, in two days time we've got another chance to go out and win the series.

"It's more about guys learning from the experience of Morgs and Malan doing that. You've still got to take wickets - that's the best way of slowing them down. It's good learning for the bowlers.

"You have to go out and believe when you're chasing a target like that, we got off to a good start but whenever we looked like getting away they took wickets."

The wicket was outstanding for T20 cricket, but you did have to earn the right. It was quite telling that Malan was on 12 off his first 12 balls, his 50 came off 31 balls, and he took a further 17 balls to get to 100. The acceleration was significant and it was such impressive batting.

    Jonathan Agnew

    BBC cricket correspondent

Players will know that international T20 cricket is a shop window in a way Test and one-day cricket isn't. Who knows which IPL team was watching today and might fancy a closer look at Malan?

  9. Post update

Let's switch our attention back to England's innings of 241-3.

In case you missed it, England broke three records during their 20 overs:

    • Their highest T20 score, beating the 230-8 against South Africa in the 2016 World Cup.
    • Dawid Malan scored England's fastest T20 century, off just 48 balls
    • Eoin Morgan scored England's fastest T20 half-century, off just 21 balls
  10. Post update

A very impressive day for Matt Parkinson.

There has been a lot of questions about whether his style of bowling, which is very slow for the modern spinner, would work. However, based on his two games, where he's taken six wickets, he's more than capable of holding his own on the international stage.

Overall that's a very professional performance which England will be very happy with.

  14. Post update

That's a very good victory for England.

They were brilliant with the bat and fought back well after New Zealand's blistering start with the bat.

  15. BreakingEngland win by 76 runs

    A crushing victory for England!

The series is now level at 2-2 going into the final game on Sunday.

Boult b Jordan 8 (NZ 165 all out)

    All over!

  17. NZ 165-9

How the hell has Trent Boult hit that there!?!

A slower ball from Chris Jordan completely bamboozles Boult and the ball loops off the back of the bat and over Sam Billings and away for four.

  18. Post update

    Jeremy Coney

Ex-New Zealand captain on BBC Test Match Special

Chris Jordan has done a terrific job throughout this series in filling holes for England whenever and wherever he's been needed.
