India captain Virat Kohli: "We got what we needed to get in the field this morning and we thought we had restricted them to a total that is chaseable on any surface. But the way they bowled in that first half an hour was the difference in the game.

"It was fine having to come back today. We had a good day yesterday and I'm very proud of that effort. Then it was a professional effort with the ball this morning and we had the momentum.

"But credit to the New Zealand bowlers - the way they bowled with the new ball, moving it around, it was an outstanding skill level on display and they made life very difficult for our batsmen."

Here's the vital moment at the end.

India needed 25 from 10 balls and MS Dhoni was still in.

Martin Guptill ran him out with a sensational piece of fielding.

How do you hit with one stump to aim at, in that moment, under that pressure?

    Remarkable.

We're rightly celebrating a brilliant win for the Black Caps but that is gutting for India and their fans...

  4. Man of the match

New Zealand bowler Matt Henry: "We talked about just making sure we did the best we can and just taking it to them at the top of the innings. We wanted to create as much pressure as we could.

"We had to ask a lot of questions, they have a world class batting line-up line. We knew if we created pressure we'd have a chance because it wasn't an easy pitch to score on so we knew it would mean opportunities.

"We pride ourselves on always giving ourselves a chance. They have world-class finishers and they were very dangerous, we knew we'd have to bowl them out to win today.

"It's special to be going to Lord's on Sunday. Thank you to the fans today, the support has been brilliant."

Matt Henry got the new ball to nibble and he removed the India batsmen before they got set.

  7. Post update

It's actually remarkable India got that close. They were 5-3 and 24-4.

Man of the match Matt Henry got three of those early wickets. Trent Boult took the crucial one of Virat Kohli.

India are absolutely dejected but it's been a fantastic match. It just emerged - everyone thought New Zealand would win comfortably after those early wickets but Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni changed the game.

There are always twists and turns in these games. Players can't continue at that level without making errors.

  16. Post update

There's a very strange atmosphere at Old Trafford.

The pocket of New Zealand fans are celebrating but the India fans are having to drag themselves away in disappointment.

Few gave the Black Caps a chance. They've dumped out India in the semi-finals.

A dismal day for India. They came to this tournament with all sorts of hope.
