In the meantime check out the report here.

Thanks for all of you, including Paul, who cleared this up...

  3. Post update

More from Ben Foakes, speaking to Sky Sports:

Asked whether he's judged more on his batting or wicketkeeping, he says: "It's hard to tell. Probably glovework."

And the approach on day three?

"Bat the way we do, build that lead and make it really dominant."

  4. 'It was meant to be my day'

    Ben Foakes

England wicketkeeper Ben Foakes on Sky Sports: "I was pretty calm this morning and I got a bit nervous when Jimmy Anderson came out with five to go. It was meant to be my day!

"It was amazing to get a hundred. Such a relief and a great feeling. My brother got here last night, that's amazing and my mum is getting here in about an hour.

"Getting a few runs settled me down and with Jimmy bowling you know you're in the game so to get a catch early was great. As the wicket dried out it is spinning more and staying low. It's tricky.

"The pitch depends on what is overhead, if the sun bakes it it will turn more and more and be difficult to bat on it."

Dave: Superb from England. Foakes’ debut Test 100, England’s spinners bowling excellently to restrict the host to 203. Moeen and Leach particularly impressive bowling in tandem. A first overseas win in years a very real prospect now

Will Moy: 10 wickets taken in the day and no wickets lost before close - who even are this England team?

  6. The end of the Social

The Cricket Social has come to an end for the day. Join the ladies and gents from 7am GMT tomorrow. Only four hours after we get in.

  7. Post update

    Isabelle Westbury

Former Middlesex captain on The Cricket Social

I think the difference between the two teams is the lower order batting. I don't think the bowling was that much better.

  8. 'Bat the whole day'

    Michael Vaughan

Ex-England captain on The Cricket Social

Outstanding from England. They have played the proper way since lunch on the first day and Sri Lanka need rain or streakers from here.

England can go and bat for the whole day tomorrow, there are three days left. Get one or two players to 100. That can give them confidence for the rest of the tour and beyond.

  9. What's this?

Any idea what this graphic is meant to be by the way?!

Suranga Lakmal applauds his team-mates off but even Brendan Rodgers would struggle to find a positive to take from this for those of a Sri Lankan persuasion.

  12. BreakingClose of play

    Eng 38-0

There we have it. England end day two with a lead of 177 runs and with 10 wickets left.

Joe Root will be absolutely delighted. An away win may be on the cards after all...

  13. Post update

Here we go, final over of the day and it's Rangana Herath to bowl it. Trundling in.

  14. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

Ex-England captain on The Cricket Social

Take out the first session - England's last five sessions have been high class.

  15. Eng 36-0

    Burns 11, Jennings 24

Two overs left. It's been a long day. A good day for England though.

A strangled appeal from Akila Dananjaya for lbw, it hit glove and bat on its way though. His next ball is a stone-cold beauty. Tying Keaton Jennings in a knot.

  16. Eng 35-0

    Burns 11, Jennings 23

Shot! Lovely shot from Rory Burns, on his toes, a hop into the ball and clipped through the midwicket region, in the air but perfectly placed. All the way for four.

    Rangana Herath doesn't need that.

  17. Eng 29-0

    Jennings 22, Burns 6

More crows (I think?) around the bat than fielders as Sri Lanka don't go too attacking in the field. Keaton Jennings is quick to pick a wide one and slaps it for four. That leads to more fielders retreating towards the fence.

Moeen Ali and Joe Root are playing Football Manager, I presume, on a laptop on the balcony. Signing a raumdeuter.
