  13. Captain's view

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "We bowled well in the powerplay but I was disappointed with the way we fielded. Mithali Raj is a key player for us, Pakistan have a very good spin bowling side and she is the best player against spin. So in a high intensity game, you need someone who is experienced. There's a long way to go, we have to work hard in the next two games."

  14. Captain's view

Pakistan captain Javeria Khan: "The coaches have worked really hard and given confidence to each of the girls. Despite losing a few early wickets we were able to build partnerships."

On the 10-run penalty for running on the wicket: "The umpires told me that after warning them three times they gave the penalty. It's unprofessional on our part, we should seriously look into this because these are the things that cost you the game."

  15. Player of the match

India's Mithali Raj: "I've always enjoyed being in the middle order, but I enjoy opening. Basically, I enjoy batting! Chasing puts a bit of pressure on to keep up with the run rate, but whatever the challenge is, I enjoy it. The pressure is only going to mount in the tournament, so we have to get our 'A' game every match."

  16. Post update

Here's how it ended for Mithali Raj as she holed out in the closing stages with the game all but won.

    Lydia Greenway

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

As much as India won't be happy with that performance, it's tournament cricket and it's all about the result. We've seen how bad fielding can be contagious, I'm sure they'll have a training session tomorrow and get back up to speed.

Pakistan can take a lot of positives from their batting and bowling, but in the end they fell short.

The penalty runs might have made the difference, but it looked as though India had the measure of that target.

They've got a little bit to work on after those dropped catches - they seemed to be OK until the first mistake which cause a ripple effect.

  19. Ind 137-3

India are home and dry with an over to spare as Krisnamurthy powers a four through mid-wicket.

  20. Ind 133-3

Krisnamurthy lofts just out of extra cover's grasping reach - or is that a chance... two more are needed. Scores level.
